We have had dealings with John Parkinson on many occasions and they are always positive. He is the most knowledgeable car salesman we have ever encountered. He has the answer to any question on the tip of his tongue and knows the ins and outs of every vehicle. His follow up is A+ and his customer service months and even years after the sale is just as prompt as it was prior to the sale. I am reviewing him on the last purchase but failed to do so on a previous new vehicle and regret not giving him the pat on the back he deserved then. We’ll definitely be back. On the last visit, we were there to turn in a lease and had no intention of buying. We left with a certified Jetta for our grandson.

I went in to look at the vehicles in there used lot(for reference I bought another used vehicle not even a year prior at a 6.55 APR this vehicle was a total loss after a wreck and paid off) i loved one of there vehicles(2025 Hyundai Tucson) and we went to finance to get numbers and they gave me a 13% APR and when i declined to proceed due to payments being above my budget they told me that it was my credit and i wouldn't get anything lower anywhere else and that the banks don't think the vehicle would hold its value in say a year or two so i passed on the vehicle and went to a different dealership the next week and bought a 2025 Buick encore gx with a 6.44APR I don't know why they would get a rate so high but it was ridiculous and unprofessional to make me feel bad about not wanting a $600 car payment.

I'm not sure what the issue is with the Clay Cooley Volkswagen service department is but the amount arrogance that exists in unreal. I need service on my car and received a text that service loaners are available. I spoke with KJ yesterday. He told me that he would have a loaner by morning and that he would call me back. Never heard anything back from him. I called back again today and spoke with an advisor named Austin. I introduced myself and told him the issue. He tells me that they do have loaners but they don't and the theres a list you have to go on to be approved for a loaner. When I tried to get clarity about this list he asked me for my name and phone number and that he would have KJ "give me a shout." This is the poor level of service that Clay Cooley is known for and its pathetic that their employees pass the blame to someone else rather than addressing the issue. I wonder how much money Clay has lost because of the low level of service and professionalism of employees like this?

I went to there to buy at 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I told NIck Sorenson that all I needed was GAP because I did not have it on my current vehicle that flooded, I was upside down and would probably have to pay 2 car notes to keep my credit straight. NIck came back and told me my note would be about $520 I asked him if he added the GAP and he said no it would probably go up a few dollars. After a while I was called back to sign paperwork. I was told I was given DOTS to tell my car insurance and that I had oil changes too. I signed where I was told to sign and went home. I checked my paperwork again because I did not understand why my note was higher than I expected and I had put $3500 down. That was when I saw I was not GIVEN anything, I paid for it. They put all these extras on my note before I was shown my paperwork because my note was already high and nobody asked me if I wanted anything. I was given Appearance protection for $1495, Data Dots for $995, and a car care maintenance plan for $1500 on top of my GAP that I said was all I needed. That's an extra $3990 of fluff that I did not want or need. I called Thursday to talk to the Sales manager Devin about the extra $3900 in services I was GIVEN and he never called me back. I would have to be SLOW to agree to all these extras knowing that I put $3500 down, that ate up my down payment plus $400. I have not purchased a vehicle in the Golden Triangle since 2008 when I bought at 2007 Camry from Philpott. Since then I have driven to Houston to get a vehicle. The first time I get a vehicle from this area for convenience I am baboozled. I do not care to hear back from Doggett unless they are willing to redo my paperwork minus these un necessities. It cannot be buyers remorse when you did not know you are buying it. They have to paperwork put together where you sign saying you know you are buying these services but nothing was highlighted for you to see. I did not know what I was paying for and I did not want nor need these at all.
