This dealership was allotted the particular car that I wanted. I received an invoice for the car, but not the drive out documentation. I asked for it twice, with no response. All I received was the salesman’s drive out quote via text. I didn’t know if that was official or not. Maybe a minor thing, but was disappointing. (The salesman had sent the final total invoice for a previous car we were contemplating buying. I couldn’t imagine why he wouldn’t send one on this car!) I had asked twice to have someone available to go over all the “techy” stuff with me when we picked up the car. We live 2 1/2 hours away. The last Highlander I bought, the dealership had an IT guy set up to go over everything. Spent probably an hour with us. So excellent!! This time Our salesman was our “IT” guy. And I agree he knew the car well. But, he was getting phone calls. Certainly we didn’t have his uninterrupted attention. He told us we couldn’t remember it all in one setting anyway. I felt very rushed and brushed off. Was disappointing. Especially with such an expensive vehicle - $63,000. To me that was worth whatever time it took to make it a very pleasant experience. When we went to talk trade in, we were offered $3245 for our vehicle. We had done our homework before coming in. Kelly Bluebook said $7345. And Carmax offered $7000. They refigured and gave us $6500. If we hadn’t done our homework, I guess we would have been taken advantage of. Then we needed to get the final figure. Our salesman had a hard time subtracting $6500 from the new car price. I had configured the rough number in my head. His price was $2000 over what it should’ve been. He tried again. This time it was only $400 too much. The third try finally ended up with the correct price. Again, I felt like if I had not been paying attention, we would have been taken advantage of. The guy selling the extended warranty was incredibly good at his job. Not pushy, but Informative. That part of the transaction was pleasant, not stressful or disappointing. I LOVE my new Highlander Platinum )Hybrid. The car is all I expected. It is our third Highlander!! Our car of choice. The car didn’t disappoint! Just the instruction and purchase experience.. More
