Took our Hyundai Ionic Hybrid in for a simple service using a external warranty. The car NEVER leaked ANYTHING until the service. The next day the car was leaking oil. We made another appointment and using a external warranty. The car NEVER leaked ANYTHING until the service. The next day the car was leaking oil. We made another appointment and were told that they'd take care of it. Again, within days, the car was leaking oil. Took the car to our regular mechanic. It was determined that the oil drain plug was either loose, or not seated correctly causing the leak. ANY HIGH SCHOOL MECHANIC should have known to check the plug. It is OBVIOUS that the plug was not even CHECKED on the second visit! THERE IS ZERO EXCUSE FOR SUCH SLOPPY WORK! This is ONE friggin' screw! Had we not been paying attention, we would surely be in for a MAJOR repair! (Hmmmmmmm...). Personally, I wouldn't trust them. If they can't perform a SIMPLE oil change, than what ELSE CAN'T THEY DO CORRECTLY!! Kevin Wright More

In all my years of buying cars, I've never had an experience quite like I did with MJ and South Bay Hyundai. My financial circumstances and the EV market at this particular moment in time made gettin experience quite like I did with MJ and South Bay Hyundai. My financial circumstances and the EV market at this particular moment in time made getting me into the car I wanted especially challenging. MJ put countless hours into finding solutions that worked for me AND South Bay, steering me away from options that were easy but irresponsible. Think about how crazy that is– most dealers have one goal and one goal only, which is to sell a car (and a tire plan! 😂). MJ set out to find me a hard-to-get car at a price that wasn't just doable, but a structure that set me up for a safe financial future. After making his life miserable for a week with all kinds of random problems, we finally struck gold and I got an incredible car at a price that everybody felt good about. Even better, when I arrived to actually pick up my vehicle, I got the sense that everybody was rooting for me, from reception to the service team and even the finance department. Just an all around excellent experience. I honestly never thought I'd care about a car dealership at all and now I'm their biggest fan! More

Despite having an appointment that was scheduled long in advance, the service department was low on technicians, so they were not able to service the car. The service clerk was able to find a new appointment. When we brought the car back in, the technician broke one of the main fuses. Since they didn't have the part, they needed to keep the car since it wouldn't start without the fuse. The dealership couldn't give us a ride back home, so we ended up taking a ride share (which was ~$50). When we got a call to pick-up the car, I explicitly let the clerk know that we would come in on Sunday to pick-up the car. Again, I had to take a ride share (which as another ~$50). Once I arrived, I was informed that the service department was closed, so I had to take yet another ride share back home (another ~$50). To get back to the dealership, I needed to take a ride share again (you got it, ~$50), and I was finally able to pick-up my car. In all, I spent close to $200 for a free service. I sent an email to the service department manager and have not heard back. I'm so incredibly disappointed. I am highly unlikey to lease another Hyundai after this experience. More
