Hello Joel, Good Afternoon, My name is XX, and I am writing to you in regards to some issues that I’ve been having with the service department at Cobb County Toyota. It’s been going on since Saturday, writing to you in regards to some issues that I’ve been having with the service department at Cobb County Toyota. It’s been going on since Saturday, March 9th. I bought my 2023 Toyota Camry from Cobb back in June 2023. I put $13k down on my car. This is the second time, that I’ve bought a car from here. Since I go to the service all the time since I bought my first car, I’ve learned a lot about Toyota(s). Last week, Thursday, March 7th, I came into the dealership around 12:30 and was provided help by Ryan (the tall guy, really nice). I thought that I need an oil change, but I was needing a tire rotation at the 16K mark. I have approximately 16.4K or 16.5K miles on my car. I’ve never had an issue on it. I only go to you guys for work. Normally, I would check my car to make sure nothing was different about it. I forgot to do it this time. The car service came to pick me up to retrieve my car. On Saturday, March 9th, I woke up and found the front passenger tire was completely flat. I called Service and asked them what I should do. They said call AAA or get it towed. I called AAA to change the tire with the spare (after 2 hours of waiting) and drove to the dealership. I explained what happened to the guy who was servicing me. He came to see the tire, which was in my trunk. He told me that even if they were able to plug the tire, the threading was at a 2. I said – how is that possible – these are new tires, and I only have 16K miles on it. I could not have driven the car that reckless to cause a 2 threading. I said that my other tires are in good shape, so I am not understanding. The service guy, I fail to remember his name now, but he’s older and sits about 2 seats from Ryan, he said that he got his tire changed at 18k miles and when you buy a new car, they only allow 20K miles. I said impossible, because my first Toyota, the tires lasted 3.5 years and my tires are Bridgestone, those last about 70-75k miles. So, now he’s lying to me. He said that this tire is a Cooper. I said – not possible – I should have Bridgestone. This is not my tire. He showed me papers of how much 1 or 2 tires cost. I left. I came back, and I talked to Ryan. I explained him the situation to him – I said that I came here on Thursday for a tire rotation, and I found my car flat on Saturday, then came here.. this tire is a Cooper, and I know that Toyota doesn’t sell Cooper tires… Therefore, you guys put another person’s tire/rim on my car. This set doesn’t belong to my car. Ryan was really nice and helpful. He checked the system and saw that I was in fact there on Thursday for the rotation, and he had handled it. I’ve been to the service a lot, as the dealership is my first choice in anything, I know that if my tire was a 2 thread, they would’ve told me about it immediately in the write up which is normally provided. Nothing. Ryan went to talk to the service person to see where my tire could be but they were not able to find anything, because he said this has never happened before. He said that they were looking at the cameras, etc. After a period of time, I had to go because I had an appointment at 12:30 p.m. I was already late for it. Ryan asked several questions – if the light was blinking… if the light was blinking then they would surely know that this wasn’t rim/tire. At that time, nothing was blinking. However, I will add that it is blinking now, it stops though but will blink again when I crank it up... so, it is factually known by all parties that this tire/rim doesn’t belong to me. He said that we will continue to check the cameras and give you a call back. He wanted to find my tire AND get an understanding of why this happened. I received a call from Todd. He ***Message Truncated*** Service misplaced my tire and never took responsibility! I had to go to another dealership and buy a new tire for $289. They had to redo sensors again so the rim could fit my car. Evidence - not original part! More
