We were concerned that our car would have had that smell in which case we would have declined as my wife cannot be in a car with that odor. Other than that, great experience. My experience was awesome, I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks for pictures of the vehicle I reserved, but once they came through everything went quickly. Representatives quick replies to my questions. The vehicle wa pictures of the vehicle I reserved, but once they came through everything went quickly. Representatives quick replies to my questions. The vehicle was shipped from Indianapolis to Kansas City where I picked it up myself on the first promised day and time. . When I picked it up I walked in and was promptly met by the representative who greeted me by name. We inspected the vehicle which had literally just been cleaned again prior to my taking it. Vehicle was exactly as described. The paperwork took about 8 minutes, literally, and I was out of there and on my way home.Financing was impeccable and without any issues, verifications of information was done by phone and the representative was extremely polite and eager to help. I had seen complaints about logistics and time being an issue and was worried, but my experience was perfect. I feel that other people’s delays were because of COVID and or unreasonable expectations from a nationwide organization with tons of cars all across the country. Being a logistician I understand how that works. Overall, perfect experience and would recommend it to anyone. Good job, Carvana! I will be a return customer! More

I wanted to speak about my experience and let you In the last month or two I purchased two vehicles online – one from Carvana and another from Vroom. I wanted to speak about my experience and let you decide which one is best suited for when making a purchasing decision. I understand that there are many online reviewers, however this is an actual first-hand experience on both companies. I do have to say from the get-go, you may find this article a bit more biased towards Carvana, even though that is not the intention because, I really enjoyed my experience with Carvana more so. While searching for vehicles between the two sites, Vroom seems to have more cars and options for filtering the car of choice. Plus, it seems the car are presented as real pictures of the cars. Just like and everyday person would and not a dealer. Meanwhile Carvana seemed like they put the gloss on every car. Just the way you would expect a dealer to. They seem like to put the extra effort to present a nice clean image for every vehicle. Picture perfect photos for every car. Both websites give a Carfax report for almost every car. However, I did see one major difference- With Vroom, I did see a few cars with prior accidents, and Carvana I did not see any cars with Accidents. I am unsure if there is a difference in the quality of cars between the two sites. In addition, it seems like that both sites have some sort of Inspections of the Cars. Carvana gives the full report of a 150-point inspection (which seems to be very through, and you can seem why all the vehicles seem picture prefect) vs. Vroom gives a few details and guarantees of the vehicles. Carvana also does give a bumper to bumper 100-day or limited mileage guarantee of their cars vs. Vroom gives you a 90 or 6000 miles coverage. If you do decide to buy the car, all you need to do is call them and they will walk you through their process of repairs. Now, let us say you went through the entire process of selecting the car you decided to purchase. With Vroom you need create a website account and put down a deposit on the car and set up an appointment for a vroom specialist to call you. When they do call you, they go through their overview of the process and let you know a contract will be coming via email and FedEx. When you sign both sets of documents and send the balance of the agreed amounts then someone call to schedule your delivery appointment. In the meantime, Vroom send a few automated messages that the received your documents and the are getting your documents situated. However, Carvana immediately has your contract prepared upon checkout and schedules your delivery and let you know when to get your insurance policy and to expect a call with your Carvana Specialist your scheduled appointment time. As you can see, things are much more automated and fined tuned. I ran into hiccups on both around here, but not due to their fault, more of mine. I have to say, Carvana managed the hiccups much more smoothly than Vroom. I car specialist was give more attitude and came off unprofessional. Plus, there was not clarity on the when the contracts will be ready or when to get the insurance in place. I went from signing contracts to get my car with insurance. That was concerning to say the least! Especially if you live in NY, the DMV fines are high up there. However, Vroom did deliver the Car faster than Carvana. The delivery Experience itself is vastly different also! Carvana owns the process from the beginning to the end. Meanwhile, Vroom seems uses to outside vendors in the process. If Carvana does use outside vendors, it is very well hidden, and no one let us you know. Meanwhile, Vroom’s delivery company clearly stated that they have been hired. When scheduling the delivery, the outside vendor for Vroom had no idea if insurance for the vehicle is need or what is happening to the license plates for the car and there was constant back and for the for 3 days. Plus, if you miss a call, it will take 4-5 hours trying to get someone to respond (It happened to me 3 times in 3 days). Lastly, the inconsistent details drove me crazy. Meanwhile Carvana had their own hiccups, but it was extremely easy to find someone to clarify what is happening. The hiccups that I experienced with Vroom vs Carvana was mother nature vs me. When I ordered my Car with Carvana, the southwest had a major winter storm in February 2021. Meanwhile, with Vroom, I was going back and forth on the extended warranty purchasing. Therefore, I genuinely believe, Vroom’s Sales specialist should have been more patient because it was an addition $2800 purchase and not give a negative attitude while processing. I admit going back and forth 3 times is annoying, but on the other hand its $2800 in question on top of a car, it is a major purchase. I did eventually buy the insurance but had no clarity of the remaining process. Once, I received the clarity on how the plates are going to work with Vroom, but no clarity on when to get the car insurance, I purchased the insurance (not knowing if I am paying useless or the policy is still not need) to protect myself just in case. This way I know when the car comes, I am protected. So, I finally set up my appointment with Vroom’s independent delivery company for the next day between 4-7pm. At 6:25pm, I get a call from the driver requesting a delay until 8pm. Which is still respectable time, and I was okay with it. At 8:30pm, the car still has not arrived and I call the driver and no response. I get a call from the driver’s friend say the driver does not speak English well and he should be there in 10 to 15 minutes. Finally, at 9:30pm, the car arrives. It is not fueled, and the car is dirty, unlike the pictures. Remind you, you just purchase a Mercedes Benz and this is the delivery. That excitement that this is my new car is all lost. That joy is all for nothing. Instead, you must go fuel and wash the car next morning. On the contrary, Carvana, when they schedule the appointment, the delivered a few hours earlier, the car was Washed and detailed, Fully gassed. That is how a Lexus should be delivered. Plus, they left a small gift – a wireless Bluetooth speaker. Post-delivery, both companies give a certain number of miles and day to try out the car (Carvana 400 miles/ Vroom 250 miles). Therefore, you look for errors, right? This way you make sure everything is good! With my Lexus, everything was Great, except for a stain I noticed in the trunk and I was having a hard time with the trunk. With the Mercedes (I received two keys that did not function). So, when I called Carvana about my problems, it took 5 minutes for some to put in the claim and refer me to a local shop (Aamco). I delivered my car in the morning and picked it up in the evening and everything was good. Meanwhile, Vroom was called for the keys and spoke to the representative about the gas and the car being dirty. I was hit with resistance. I was told, it is done for safety that the Car is delivered with little gas, which I can accepted (but vastly different from Carvana). Then, the dirtiness of the car was justified by it was delivered on a flat top tow truck, therefore it is acceptable to Vroom for delivering a dirty car with lots of Bird droppings. Lastly, the keys. I was told they will fix only one key because their contract says one key and the second one will not be fixed. Therefore, it seems like they are already hiding behind their contract and it makes me think what else will they be hiding? Remind you, if you buy a Mercedes Benz, you bought it in the wrong place again. I was told management will call me back in 48 hours about the second key because I really was annoyed by that time and made it clear, if the two keys are not fixed, I will return the car. I have yet to drive 35 miles on the 250 miles. Now, I must be honest, I have not returned the car with Vroom, yet because I am waiting on the call and see what transpires. Regarding the return procedures, I am expecting no hassle from Vroom, but not sure yet. I can tell you that prior to my Lexus, I did buy an Acura from Carvana a month before and return it to Carvana. The process was amazingly simple, and no questions asked. I received my refund in fully in 10 day after the car was picked up. I just found the Acura to bumpy for my taste. They literally came the next day and picked up the car. Overall, I think Carvana is far better experience, and the employees seem to love working there. I can say that they do a far better job when it comes to the buying experience. I would highly recommend Carvana repeatedly – From the moment you see the car online to the post-delivery experience. Vroom has a lot to prove to me and I am not comfortable based on the very manual process of Vroom and the harsh speaking staff and choppy process and logic. The people who for and with both organization truly make the difference. More
