First of all Carvana tried to block us from doing a review on this purchase. We had to go back and use one of our other reviews to be able to post this. We have bought 5 vehicles from them and this veh review on this purchase. We had to go back and use one of our other reviews to be able to post this. We have bought 5 vehicles from them and this vehicle by far has been the worst. We love the Rav 4 but they really misrepresented the vehicle by first only showing 3 tiny paint chips and 1 light scratch and it had about 20 defects including 5 door dings, no matter how many places are on the vehicle whether they show them or not they will only fix 3 places and on both sides of the bumper there was big scratches and that counted as 2 and it should have just counted as one the car has a great Carfax and runs great it's the body that was so rough. I know I could have sent the car back but I would have lost my delivery fees so I decided to let them fix it and then after I was already to show them all the places they come up and said we can only fix 3 places. Carvana has really lost us as a customer and hope that others be very cautious because they will not cover the bad defects. We lost the car for a week to get it fixed and never got reimbursed for having to run back and forth 4 times and be without a vehicle for a week. JUST BE AWARE THEY WILL HIDE DEFECTS. More
My experience with Carvana has been extremely disappointing, and I would urge anyone considering buying from them to proceed with caution. I purchased a truck that was supposedly put through C disappointing, and I would urge anyone considering buying from them to proceed with caution. I purchased a truck that was supposedly put through Carvana's "rigorous 150-point inspection." However, I quickly discovered that all four tires were completely worn out and needed immediate replacement. This is especially concerning because their inspection checklist includes multiple tire-related inspection points (items 23–25). It's difficult to understand how a vehicle with tires in this condition could have passed inspection. After driving the truck only about 50 miles—while on my way to have the tires replaced—the check engine light came on. Based on the timing, I suspect the diagnostic trouble codes may have been cleared before the vehicle was sold, allowing the light to remain off just long enough to complete the sale. To make matters worse, Carvana's Executive Resolution Team has insisted that I drive the truck approximately two hours to one of their inspection locations before they will address the issue. Given the condition of the tires and the check engine light, I do not believe the vehicle is safe to drive that distance. In my experience, Carvana has made it unnecessarily difficult to reach someone with the authority to resolve these issues. I expected the inspection process and customer support to provide peace of mind, but instead I was left with a vehicle that I believe should never have been delivered in its condition. Buyers should carefully inspect any vehicle they receive and be prepared to advocate for themselves if problems arise. More
WARNING! !! Absolute insanity. I purchased a car from Carvana. After sending me notification that the car was on the way, they cancelled the delivery and delay !! Absolute insanity. I purchased a car from Carvana. After sending me notification that the car was on the way, they cancelled the delivery and delayed it to the next day. I left work early both days to take delivery of the vehicle. The truck pulled up on the second attempt. They had locked the keys inside the car and couldn’t get the car off the truck. Carvana does not have a protocol for this and could not find any locksmiths. After waiting4 hours, driver’s lead called and told him to leave. Ruined my family’s 4th of July and will force me to get out of work early for a third time. I can’t trust this company anymore and will never use them again. Please go to Carmax. I had much better experiences with them. They told the driver to leave even though there was a locksmith on the way because they did not want to pay him overtime and holiday pay. If you are unsure of which company to buy from or if you are looking for a similar company to work for, choose Carmax everytime. More
Within a day of purchase my Mercedes E63 AMG had a suspension issue. The warranty company sent me to a Firestone because it's in network. I sat for four hours only for them to tell me what I already k suspension issue. The warranty company sent me to a Firestone because it's in network. I sat for four hours only for them to tell me what I already knew: they can't do the repair on that car. They sent me to the dealer and upon further inspection, it has several oil leaks and the suspension issue that would have cost over $20,000 to fix. Before you assume they were just trying to make a bunch of money off me, they knew they were going to have to go to Silver Rock, Carvana's warrant provider, and that the max they would pay is $12,000. They could have easily quoted only up to that amount and made their money. No, the tech was an E63 owner and told me straight up not to keep that car. I exchanged it for another AMG and it's sitting at the shop now. Oh, and less than 2 days after I returned the first car, it's sitting right back on the website for sale. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM CARVANA! More
We sold a car to Carvana a few years ago and it was, to our surprise, the best and easiest experience dealing with vehicles. We got more than expected for the car. At 8:34 a.m., I got a text saying delivery was pushed back to April 23, 2026. When I called, I was told the vehicle had not even been inspected yet, despite already being sold to me for delivery in Virginia. That raises serious concerns because Virginia Code § 46.2-1539 generally requires dealer inspection before retail sale, or written disclosure before sale if the vehicle did not pass inspection, and violations can carry criminal penalties. I spoke with Monica from senior leadership, who could not guarantee the car would be delivered on the new date. I asked for her supervisor or manager to call me, and she said it could take 48 hours. When I asked for the manager’s name, she refused to provide it. She sounded like she was reading from a script and offered no real help or assurances other than confirming the vehicle had not yet been inspected. I was also told a prior rep should not have offered me a $150 inconvenience check, though they would honor it. Overall, the whole process appears disorganized and raises serious concerns. Very disappointing. More
Purchased a 2018 Ford Expedition Max from Carvana with the expectation that it had passed their 150 point inspection. Within days of delivery, the vehicle developed a major mechanical issue and ultimat the expectation that it had passed their 150 point inspection. Within days of delivery, the vehicle developed a major mechanical issue and ultimately required two engine replacements under the 100 day limited warranty. The vehicle was out of service from early January through March. While the repairs were completed under warranty, the extended downtime and disruption during the earliest stage of ownership were significant. During this process, additional issues occurred, including a theft incident while the vehicle was at an in-network repair facility and a registration issue where a new tag was issued instead of transferring my existing one. After reviewing the inspection report, I also noticed that certain engine related components had been marked as “fixed” or “replaced” prior to sale. Given that the vehicle required a full engine replacement shortly after delivery and that the first replacement also failed it raised concerns about the effectiveness of the inspection process before the vehicle was sold. I did request a goodwill review to address the overall ownership impact beyond standard warranty coverage, but no additional consideration was offered. For buyers, it’s important to understand that while warranty coverage may address repairs, the broader ownership experience including downtime and related impact may not be addressed beyond those terms. I had a very frustrating experience with Carvana. After paying for a vehicle, my delivery was repeatedly delayed and I never received the car. Even worse, my refund has taken far too long to process.
