It was First the good stuff: - The car was reasonably clean, came fully fueled, and the delivery guy was pleasant and followed good COVID protocols. It was delivered on a flatbed, not driven to its destination. - The "imperfections" detailed in the listing were exactly correct. - They had the rare model that I was looking for, thanks to their nationwide network (similar to CarMax). The rest of the process was hot garbage... I've never had such poor service in all of the 30+ years since I got my driver's license. - "Sebastian", their chat AI, is utterly useless. It often doesn't even respond to the exact commands that it says to use, let alone properly-phrased interrogatives. - I ONLY GOT ONE FOB - The two "new" tires that they put on the car were cheap junk that came off the pavement at the slightest provocation, and didn't match the other two. I had to replace the entire set. - All four tires came with wildly different air pressures varying by as much as 25%. - The price was about a thousand dollars above that of most physical dealerships found via the usual search engines, which is a significant amount for a sub-$20k vehicle. - Need help? Good luck, every attempt to contact a human being resulted in AT LEAST an hour-long wait. - Third-party financing? Good luck. My FCU saved me a full percentage point on interest, but I lost an hour and a half of my life and a couple handfuls of hair trying to get a straight answer on what to do with the 5-figure check on my desk. - The "seven day guarantee" ended AT LEAST thirty hours (by the time I had logged into the site and found out) before the promised 7 days had passed from the time I took delivery. - The site claims that the registration process would start when the guarantee ended. Not only did it not start seven days after delivery, it was almost TWO WEEKS before I heard anything at all... and then it was to tell me that they needed more notarized documents, "because Pennsylvania". They knew what state I was in LONG before I even made the purchase! Then they kept sending me robo-texts threatening that I would "lose the legal right to drive" the car if I didn't "upload these documents to the dashboard", while simultaneously sending me emails explaining how I couldn't fix the issue by uploading documents to the dashboard, and would have to FedEx them notarized physical paper forms. - TWO FULL MONTHS after taking delivery I still didn't have my state registration. More anonymous emailed apologies from Carvana (that you can't reply to). I had to print out yet another temporary plate from yet another state, and had to go through changing my information with the local parking authority AGAIN. - SEVENTYFOUR DAYS after ordering the car I finally get my registration delivered... and they screwed that up too. I had an existing (custom) plate that was supposed to be transferred to the new car just like every dealership in the country can do in an hour... and they sent me a COMPLETELY NEW PLATE. Then I got to wait for a few more weeks for the DMV to process the wrong registration before I could transfer it. - As of this writing, is has been almost THREE MONTHS since I took delivery and my registration is still not correct. I don't even have the patience to continue updating this review any more. The car I wanted was relatively uncommon, so I figured I'd pay the premium to save myself a few hundred miles of driving. BIG MISTAKE. I should have just driven the four hours each way to the dealership that had the same car; it would have been less painful and frustrating than the constant delays and additional expenses I have been forced into by Carvana. Between the extra shipping charge, the tires, the additional notary fees, the state fees, and the retail premium, I ended up paying somewhere around 15% more than if I had just driven across the state and bought the thing at a normal dealership. And that's not even including the time I lost to all these activities which would have been normally accomplished in an hour or two at a normal dealership and the stress of THREE MONTHS between arranging payment and a completed transaction. Carvana is simultaneously expensive and cheap, while apparently disorganized and *excruciatingly* slow. Avoid them if at all possible. More
This has been the easiest car buying experience I've had. As a previous 10yr. Carmax employee - this was GREAT! I invested in Carvana on the stock exchange b/c I know CARVANA is going places! Horrible! They buy junk cars because their inspection is a joke, pictured don’t represent full truth, the fenders, bumpers, hood all had a horrible after market paint job that was not disclosed prior, rust a joke, pictured don’t represent full truth, the fenders, bumpers, hood all had a horrible after market paint job that was not disclosed prior, rust was below even their own standards, warranty did not agree to fix the paint issue, tires were due to be replaced, had we not spent 200$ on a Lexus dealer inspection we would not know these things. The initial buying process was a joke as we had to chase them down to find out what was going on, we spent so much time on hood we memorized the hold songs! The delivery was unorganized and hard to track the car nobody knew where it was, how do you not know where the car is?? delivery was days and hours late arrived at 8PM 3 days late. Wasted 1 week on this car just to end up returning it since the warranty company would not cover the issues that were never mentioned in the listing or inspection. HORRIBLE! More
Sure, prices can be a hit or miss, but not having to deal with pushy salesman is worthwhile. Also, having a car delivered to your home is an experience in itself. My neighbors got a good reaction out of it. with pushy salesman is worthwhile. Also, having a car delivered to your home is an experience in itself. My neighbors got a good reaction out of it. More

I really like the vehicle I got from Carvana. That’s really the only positive I can say. The rest of the experience was pretty awful and I would not recommend. The first vehicle I ordered got the delive really the only positive I can say. The rest of the experience was pretty awful and I would not recommend. The first vehicle I ordered got the delivery pushed. The second car, which was perfect, wasn’t even available for sale but they didn’t tell me that until the day AFTER I purchased it. The last vehicle, which is the one I have now, had bad brakes, dirty filters, and worst of all the entire airbag system was shut off. My mechanic told me because of it being such a serious safety issue, he doesn’t believe the vehicle was ever inspected. They offered me nothing for this and said I would just have to take it to the dealership and they were sorry but brakes aren’t covered and they can’t do anything about that. xxx!? The delivery advocate who delivered my car was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I tried to ask him questions but he just left as fast as possible and didn’t show me any of the features of the new car. Definitely do not recommend Carvana to anyone! You’re better off going to a dealership! More
This is my second purchase with Carvana in 3 years (my first being a 2015 Jeep Patriot). I love the user-friendly design of their website and the lack of "upselling pressure" that's usually a part of buy first being a 2015 Jeep Patriot).
