I was really looking to buy a Genesis but Consumer Reports gave the new Santa Fe a review I couldn't pass up without looking at one. My wife and I stopped at Castle Hyundai on our way to Castle Genesis and were greeted by Nizar. It was an easy meeting with no pressure; Nizar let us drive a new Santa Fe Hybrid demo by ourselves and I think we were sold; we did visit the Genesis location after returning the demo and were surprised to find out that a comparable Genesis would put us in a GV80 for a lot more money so we went home to think about it. Nizar did make a friendly, no pressure call the next day looking for our thoughts on the Santa Fe so we went back to look more in-depth. Again, no pressure and our questions were answered. Fast forward a couple of days and a new, dark grey Santa Fe is in our garage for good now. We would HIGHLY recommend Nizar at Castle!

This review is for Josh Ryoo. Came in about a year ago to test drive couple vehicles and he was relaxed. Let us test drive in private and answered all our questions back at the dealership. He was honest and upfront about the vehicles from his point of view. Came back this year with an offer from another dealer I got through Trucar and did his best to match it and get close. I paid couple hundred dollar more but he was very upfront about all the standard dealer charges. He was able to get us the car we wanted and took off non essential dealer charges and threw in additional services. He did not pressure us to buy anything but suggested an extended warranty with the reasoning due to increase in part prices. Overall, smooth, solid transaction and because our family needed another car, came back next day to buy another one through him. His calm, cool demeanor and honesty got us to trust him to purchase TWO Palisades within 12 hours. Will do business again with Josh Ryoo.

Start with the initial communication with Matt who moved the car up front and held the keys so no one would buy it before I got there. Then Eric was awesome worked with me on pricing. This is the worst service experience I have ever had. They took my car for a repair, and after ordering an incorrect part several times, ended up keeping my car for 5 months until fixing it. At the end of the time, we settled up with a bill and I confirmed this was the full charge, which was nice, because they had reduced the charge, which seemed like a good customer service move. Days later, I get a call that they had a system issue and forgot to bill me the full amount. This is after letting my car sit outside for 5 months, being consistently rude over the phone, and repeating the same action that resulted in the wrong part over and over again throughout. Do not become a victim of their incompetence, they had the nerve to blame me for not asking why my bill was so much less than expected, with Bret the Service Manager saying "both sides were at fault" there. Forgive me for assuming they made a wise customer service move to preserve a customer. I even told the cashier they had saved a Hyundai customer with this move! I wouldn't consider buying a Hyundai ever again in my life, and while it may just be this dealership, their interactions with corporate and Hyundai processes indicate a huge gap in oversight from management.

Beware: Even if you pay for a car in full-cash, Gurnee Hyundai will do a hard hit that lasts for 2 yrs on your credit score. If you finance the car, Gurnee Hyundai will do 2 hard hits that last for 2 years. This is the second time it happened. My husband purchased his new car in 2023, and I just purchased a new Hyundai 3-21-25. We specifically asked if we would get 2 hits on our credit. The salesman and the finance guy said, "only 1". This turned out not to be the case! There were 2 credit hits each on Transunion and Experian 3-21-25, the date I purchased the new car to get the cash rebate bonus. We both are proud of our credit history with no debts, with minimum hits. Even though I wanted to pay in cash, in order to get the $3k cash bonus, I had to finance part of it and was told that I can paid the balance off in 3 months in order for Gurnee Hyundai get their commission from the finance company. Here is what shows on Transunion report today Monday 3-:24-25--- -Gurnee Hyundai HCA (Finance) Mar 21, 2025 -GURNEE HYUNDAI (Auto) Mar 21, 2025 The takeaway: There is no way to avoid getting a "hard hit" when you buy a car from Gurnee Hyundai. We don't mind the hits; we just don't want to be lied to.

Buyer beware, wouldn't buy anything from this dealership unless you want stress and a warranty that is worth crap. Our vehicle with just over 80k miles is blowing through oil and they will not help us at all. VEHICLES ARE xxxx! Do NOT buy! We'd have to spend a $1000 of our own cash to do a oil quantity test and you are at the hands of the dealership to decide your fate. $9500 for a new engine at 80k. xx!!!! Wouldn't buy a Hyundai again if it was the last vehicle on earth. BEWARE ALL!!!!!!!!

Overcharges on diagnostic testing and customer service is awful. They charges us 1700 to replace fuel injectors and took two hours. Price run down was 250 for parts, 400 for diagnostic, and labor for rest. Absolutely ridiculous. Wouldn’t recommend buying or getting maintenance done here ever.

After seeing my review, Scott the manager at the said dealership asked to be contacted, which I did in an email, outlining the horrible experience and situation Hyundai of Lincolnwood has put me in. He NEVER responded. In addition, they took the loaner back, I surrendered the vehicle, and they won’t credit me for all payments, insurance etc, unless I fill out forms and submit. Also they told me to continue making payments on the vehicle I don’t have, or my credit PART 3 Surprisingly and more importantly, the GM at this dealership Scott did contact me and asked what he could do to make it right? I told him my story and what I expected from them to make it right, and to my surprise he did. Scott stepped up, made it right and truly understood what it means to keep the customer happy as well as do the right thing! Faith restored.
