My in-laws have been buying cars from Don Rohde at the Galpin Family of dealerships for decades. I recently bought a used Volvo SUV that I’m very happy with! Don answered any questions I had about the two different vehicles I test drove and I felt that the buying process was handled very well. Even after I purchased my vehicle and noticed a couple of cosmetic issues from the previous owner, Don facilitated a repair free of charge and made sure that I was a happy customer! I will certainly return to Galpin for future vehicles!

I'm not one to write reviews, but this team of professionals warrants my time and accolades! I was interested in a pre-owned Hyundai Genesis they featured on the internet, and when I arrived to test drive the vehicle I was met by Ron Stephens, a friendly and sincere salesman who actually gave me a checklist of items I should evalute on the car, encouraged me to ask all the questions I could think of, didn't engage in the mindless chatter I had come to expect from a car salesman, and flat out said that if I didn't love the vehicle, I shouldn't buy it! He very methodically stepped through the negotiation process and not once did I feel intimidated. He even bought my teenage daughter something to eat while I waited to sign the sales contract. The next day when I returned with the check, Ron Wheeler, General Manager, stopped by just to extend his hospitality and make sure I was happy, as did Terrance, the Service Manager who also know a whole lot about the car I had just bought and responded the following day to my phone querry regarding use of the ISB port. This team of professionals is top drawer. Go see them, especially if you are in the market for a Volvo, and if you have a used Volvo to trade in, they will give you 10% over Bluebook for it! I live in Santa Clarita and it was worth the drive to Thousand Oaks :)

We insisted that our price was definitive and there was no point for us driving 2hours the price we agreed on on the phone because we would then just leave. They confirmed on the phone the price was definitive. We arrived after a long drive and then price had changed. I cannot stress enough how much I do not recommend this dealership.

I've been going here for nearly 10 years and the service has gone down the tubes. In short, I had to return 4 times to get a window leak fixed. I was provided no concession and was even incorrectly charged for the service. I had to follow-up 4 times over 2 weeks before someone called me back to address it (when I was told they would get back to me the next day). Just really poor service, expectations, etc. I will never use them again

The entire team I worked with from the sales associate, sales manager, to financing were straightforward and honest. No nonsense, pressure tactics, or ridiculous haggling. This dealer bought the car it was used. We didn't test drive to see if we liked it. And they bought a car. The next day, the wife went to work, she became ill with an allergy. The car was full of mice. And no one told us about it. We asked the dealer to pick up the car, he refused. So expect to be scammed at the Volvo dealership.

I was there for repair service. I was quoted a price that was very high ($900) for the repair (which I know should cost around $600). But I left the car for repair anyway. I was thinking, I probably won't come back again. Upon completion of the car, I was told that the quote was high and there were parts that did not need to replace/repair as originally thought. My cost bill was reduced to a very reasonable cost of $600 without me asking. Or course, the better will be that it was quoted right the first time because it could have driven business away.

Alright, so the service this dealership offers is absolutely unbelievable. From the sales manager, Lance, on down. I’m a small business owner myself, so knowing that customer service means is absolutely everything, I can say without hesitation, that Volvo Cars Carlsbad has been the best car buying experience my wife and I have ever had. Not only did they make the sales process easy and hassle-free, they explained everything to us thoroughly and worked HARD to accommodate our budget and very specific needs. I was shocked that Volvo Financial was able to beat our local credit union’s APR. The financing process was handled smoother and faster than anything I’ve experienced in past with dealerships. Thats a testament to these guys being absolute pros, knowing the system they’re working within, and the contracts they execute. Not only was it a quick experience, but they thoroughly explained every step along the way. We never, even slightly felt like we were being “sold.” The cherry on top of the cake was that they made not one, but two trips to our home when we left things at the dealership. We live in Escondido, so that’s a long trip across the 78 in rush hour traffic. Olin, our sales rep, even showed up with my 4 year old daughter’s favorite stuffy buckled in to the front seat when she left it at the dealership. To this day, she says to me “daddy, do you remember that nice man who sold you your car?” Yep, that means a lot to her and to me. Look, I may have gone into way too much detail with this review, but my experience was truly extraordinary with Volvo Carlsbad. It’s why we went from a Lexus and a Mercedes household to a 2 Volvo household in two weeks time. If you’re looking to buy a Volvo in San Diego or Orange counties, make the trip out to Volvo Carlsbad, you will not be disappointed.

Negotiated with the manager for the entire week and planned on a coming weekend to drive over 6 hours to purchase. I begged the manager to hold it for literally 1 day because I was driving from a different state, but he said he couldn't. I offered a deposit, but he stated CA policy states that car dealers can't accept deposits to hold a car. I was already prepared with a bank cashier's check and ready to get up at 4 AM to drive over 6 hours for pickup. Volvo Escondido sold my car literally less than 16 hours before I got a chance to get there and pay for it! One of the most disappointing car buying experiences of my life. How would you feel? Profits over decency.

Not only did my 2016 Volvo XC90 need its 120k mile service, but it was also in desperate need of repair. I had the extreme pleasure of working with Matt Thornton, Service Advisor for the duration of the work. Matt kept me up to date on all issues, no matter how great or small. He set me up with a loaner for the full term of my vehicle service. Matt was professional, kind and knowledgeable on all issues related to my Volvo. I can't recommend this dealership enough, especially after the service that was provided to me. I trust them to do honest work, and let's face it, you can't say that about every place. I also wanted to give a big shout out to the two technicians who worked on my car: Pete Lopez III & Luis Castillo. They were thorough and worked extra hard to find solutions to some of the problems presented that weren't typical issues. I appreciate their hard work! Thank you to the whole team who worked on my car! You got her back to a healthy state, and I can't appreciate you all enough.

I have been taking my 2002 Volvo for service here for many years. Everyone is very professional, friendly, and efficient. Miguel welcomes me by name when I arrive. They were very accommodating to me when I required "special" time frames when having service done last year. I love the idea that my car is washed inside/out when any service is done, but still appreciated that they didn't offer that service during the drought.
