Their own gross oversight of paperwork not being submitted has earned me 9 months of aggravation, wasted time and an account in collections. They do not stand behind their customer, even when it is blatantly their lack of competency on multiple levels that created the issue. As a return customer to the Toyota brand and Toyota World of Lakewood, I turned in a lease on Memorial Day weekend in 2018. The dealership never "grounded" my returned lease (never submitted the proper paperwork for me returning the truck). I was charged an extension of lease and an overage of miles due to this oversight on their part. Additionally, they never submitted the proper paperwork for me being a returning customer and charged me a deposition fee as well. I received my first bill pertaining to this issue on June 7, 2018 and contacted Toyota Financial directly. They informed me that the paperwork would need to be submitted properly from the dealership. I worked with manager Jean Elam to get this resolved, which she provided assurances that it was. On November 23, 2018, the "resolved issue" was put into collections. Since then, it has been a nightmare of wasted time, false assurances and deceptive customer service. After repeated attempts for me to contact the manager, she now rushes me off the phone, doesn't return messages and infrequently responds to emails. When she does respond it is with empty assurances that the issue will be resolved by such-and-such a date, "no matter the outcome to Toyota." Even with proper documentation on my lease, proof of return date and odometer statements, the collections agency cannot clear the account until Toyota of Lakewood and Toyota Financial submit the proper paperwork. Toyota of Lakewood never filed the proper paperwork from the beginning and now will not stand behind their customer to rectify the issue. 9 months later, I am still dealing with this. This dealership failed to submit the proper paperwork from the beginning. When I discovered the issue, they failed to update their paperwork until multiple phone calls and emails were placed. The manager has failed to correct this issue and only kicks the can down the road or flat out refuses to follow up with me. I sincerely wouldn't wish this on anyone else unless you have a high tolerance for BS, hours of your own time to waste and a credit score you wish to ruin based on principle. More
Not a nice manager I traveled in with my wife to hear a quote on a camry. The salesmans first question was "did you hear any other quotes yet". He then called his manager over. His manager (a tall broad fellow) asked me what was the lowest quote I heard. I told him an amount. He said in that case go with that one because we can't match it. I then asked him since I traveled in, do you mind if I were to test driving it. He responded very rudely that he can't "waste" a few minutes of his salesmans time. Very unproffesional. The next place I went was Toyota of Toms river (route 37) The experience there was the total opposite-the salesman there was outstanding as were the managers. I strongly reccomend to stay away from toyota of Lakewood. More

I don't tend to let people know I work in the automotive business because you sometimes can be treated a little different then you would expect, so I shop like every other consumer. Last Friday I was about to buy a Acura ILX because I couldn't find a pick up truck I liked or could afford. I figured I'd go test drive a Toyota Tacoma since I always liked them. I fell in love. Now the dealer I drove the car out was trying to make me buy it there on the spot and all ( I will not disclose who). I still needed to shop around and know I'm getting a good deal. So after I left, I called 12 dealerships around NJ NY and PA. Some very nice people. But then I met Greg via the phone. It was a different conversation than anyone else. He listened to me, understood what I wanted and what my budget was. Within 30 Minutes he had Brandon (Sales manager) call me and introduce himself. He sent me EXACTLY what truck I wanted with a few extra features. He blew every other Toyotas pricing out of he way to where other dealers laughed and said oh I'm going to get taken advance of they will switch the truck etc etc. Thats how crazy these guys are, the numbers were that LOW. Brandon and Greg held that car for me. Took my word I was coming in 1 day later. I got to that dealership and low and behold I was instantly greeted by many. My truck was shining out front. I went back over the numbers to confirm that this was the deal and my truck. I did my insurance, and I was in and out within an hour. Record timing. No mistakes, no problems, simply smooth. Can't thank these gentleman enough. Oh I absolutely love the truck. Thank you again everyone that made this possible at Toyota World of Lakewood. (BTW I've worked in high-line automotive stores in sales, I know what the red carpet treatment is like, they compare to a unimaginable amount) Do yourself a favor, save the time of calling around and Just call Greg or Brandon. You'll save yourself a lot of money I guarantee that as well a xxxx ton of Time. Tell them my review got you there. I guarantee you will not regret it. More

I owned a 2009 Corolla previously, so I knew what a smooth driving car should be. They replaced a bent rim. I was happy. Unfortunately that's the only positive thing I can say. The salesman told me I would have a year worth of oil changes. In reality they only gave me 3 oil changes. They have you in for a checkup every 5,000 miles (check things out, rotate tires), with the 10,000 mile checkup is where the oil is supposed to happen. Turns out they did the oil change at 5,000 miles. I never asked them to. So, they wasted one of my oil changes and then I went in for an oil change one day I was told the price. That's when I found out I had no free oil changes anymore, and they wasted one of mine. Since that day I started taking my car elsewhere for work. The worst part is here it is 2018 and I got a ticket for their liscense plate frame covering part of the word Garden State. I had no idea cops ticketed for this. I have a $54 fine to pay because of that. They got 4 years of free advertising and refused to pay the $54. $54 for 4 years of advertising is a good deal, especially since I drive a lot. I'm already up over 90,000 miles. I would never go back there again nor recommend anyone go there. More

THE MOST RECENT WAS A TOTAL FRAME REPLACEMENT FROM AN ONGOING RECALL LETTER I RECEIVED. NOT ONLY DID THEY REPLACE THE ENTIRE FRAME BUT THEY REPLACED SPRINGS, SHOCKS, ALL BRAKE LINES, AND TO MANY OTHER PARTS TO MENTION AT NO CHARGE TO ME AS THE OWNER, THERE WAS A CHARGE ON MY INVOICE A JACK CAME TO THE CASHIER AS I WAS PAYING FOR IT AND CROSSED OUT THE CHARGE AND SENT ME ON MY WAY AS A HAPPY CAMPER !!! Extremely professional, it's all about the customer I had been to a number of dealers over the last couple of months and was not impressed. One actually told me the vehicle had gone through their inspe I had been to a number of dealers over the last couple of months and was not impressed. One actually told me the vehicle had gone through their inspection, but when I looked underneath the tailpipe was completely disonnected from the muffler! I met with Michelle, who was very positive about the vehicle and every aspect of the dealership. She was accurate as could be. They let me take the vehicle to my mechanic who was over an hour away, a very pleasant surprise. My mechanic pointed out a few things, but overall blessed the vehicle. I went back and stated the issues my mechanic found. They took it right into the service center, their top mechanic concurred on the issues and they said they would fix everything! The manager was very accommodating as far as price, and promised everything would be taken care of. Two days later I brought the car back, they fixed everything and insisted I call them if there were any issues. These folks are the most professional dealership I have encountered, I would recommend them without hesitation. As a matter of fact I would suggest you bypass the others and just come here, they are amazing, thanks guys. More
