John made my car buying experience extremely easy and very enjoyable. I kept bracing myself for the "salesman" pitch or the haggling, but I didn't receive either. From his initial greeting, John was like meeting a long lost family member. He made my husband and I feel very comfortable. He was very knowledgeable and just like my dad, made sure I was being practical when I asking about the options packages! He genuinely seemed to be looking out for MY best interest. In the end, I bought EXACTLY what I needed and wanted in a vehicle. I was sad to say goodbye to my 10 year old mini-van that my son literally grew up in, but John was sweet enough to take a picture of me with my old car (that I traded in) so I could always remember how good it was to me. By the time I drove home, the mini-van was almost forgotten and I was already in love with my new Santa Fe Sport 2.0T! Even thought I live in town, I will continue coming to this location for service because it is a comfortable, clean facility, and everyone there makes you feel like you're part of the family. I am definitely recommending John Travis Jr. and Tony Hyundai Waipahu to all my friends and family! More

The beginning of this year did not start off on a good note due to a car accident. As soon as, I was told my 2007 Hyundai Sonata was totalled I knew exactly where I was going to find a new vehicle. I headed straight to Tony Auto Group, Hyundai, because of the quality of service. When I arrived I was greeted by Michael and Kenneth. Kenneth Smiley was the salesman who diligently help direct me in finding a quality vehicle for me and my children. Mr. Smiley patiently walked me around the lot several times until he showed me an Elantra. I had stressed to Mr. Smiley how I wanted a Hyundai that was fully loaded and would fit into my budget. Mr. Smiley did just that! He made sure I was satisfied with the Elantra which made my experience worthwhile. I'd like to thank Tony Auto Group for putting me in my third Hyundai vehicle from them. Let me just start by saying that I was really dreading having to look for a new car. My last experience consisted of endless test drives and pushy salesman who were too busy trying to sell me a to listen having to look for a new car. So when my husband and I were faced with having to buy a new one, I was very apprehensive. We did a ton of research just so we didn’t have to deal with the dealers and basically had our mind set on a Toyota Prius. But before making the commitment we thought we would test drive a few other hybrids first. And boy, are we thankful we did that! Not only did the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid stand out from the rest, but the service we received has changed my attitude towards car salesman. We received the best service and most thorough information from Sky Kitaoka at the Hyundai dealership in Honolulu. He was not the “pushy car salesman” that encountered in the past, but instead made the both of us feel comfortable. He provided great comparison research to us that was not bias to one brand or another. He also shared in-depth information on the history of Hyundai, which helped to build our confidence in the company. We really appreciate that Sky went above and beyond to help us. The Sonata Hybrid is also heaven on wheels. We own a Toyota now, so thought the Prius would be a natural fit. But after riding in the Sonata and experiencing its smoother ride, comfy seats, and features that make your ride just that much more comfortable, we were sold. And of course, the price was right! What sealed the deal for us, was the fact that although we were getting less mpg when comparing the Prius to the Sonata, we actually found that we could get more out of it by the way we drive it. This little trick was shared with us by our fabulous salesperson, Sky. He and his team also provided us with great warranties so that our car will be taken care of for the next 10 years. All of these factors put together, moved us to making the Sonata Hybrid a part of our family. Thank you to Sky Kitaoka and his team for their expertise and outstanding, friendly service. Never in my life did I consider buying a Hyundai, but my sister urged me to just "take a look" so I decided, why not. We walked into the dealership and was immediately greeted by Sky Kitaoka. He was extremely friendly and willing to help with my car search. Now, I was NOT planning on buying a car that day, or even that week or even necessarily that month, but my impression of Hyundai and the excellent customer service I received pushed me over the edge. I began looking at the 2013 Santa Fe Sport. We started on a test drive, and I inquired about other models and colors, etc. Sky informed me that they had more models at their Waipio location. He unknowingly dug himself into a hole when he told me I was more than welcome to drive out there to take a look at the other models, and I accepted. Needless to say, that was the longest test drive of my life, which was perfect. I hate it when dealerships don't let you really DRIVE the car that you are about to cough up all your hard-earned money for. During my extended test drive, I realized I was not happy with the power of the standard 4-cyl engine, which I probably wouldn't have recognized if I wasn't allowed to go on the long test drive. So when we got to the Waipio location, I hopped in a 2013 Santa Fe Sport Turbo with the exact features and color I wanted, and we headed back to town. Prior to coming to Hyundai, my heart was set on a 2013 Ford Escape (I am a big Ford fan and had JUST come from the Ford dealership), but the features that I was going to get for the price of the Santa Fe was unbeatable and there was no doubt in my mind that I was about to make the right choice. Throughout the entire test drive, Sky was sincere, not pushy, and very informative. Once back at the dealership, both Sky, Andrew Lee and John Martinho assisted me with closing the deal on my financing. Now, I have purchased many cars in my short life (6 in the last 6 years, lol), and my experience with purchasing my new Hyundai Santa Fe was the most pleasurable car buying experience I have ever had. Not once did I feel pressured. I didn't have to haggle for the prices I wanted. I felt at ease because everyone was so friendly and I had some genuine and memorable conversations. Since it was dark and drizzling by the time we wrapped up, Andrew offered for me to come back so they could re-detail my car, even though they had already done an excellent job. Sky even invited me back to assist me with my BlueLink System, which I was amazed with. In a nutshell, if you are in the market for a Hyundai, this is where you need to purchase it from. Based on my experience, I can without a doubt highly recommend their services. More
