Ryan Smolen has been extremely helpful, informative, friendly, and completely put us at ease. He was not a pushy sales person like other car dealerships and made us feel at home. He even called us on several occasions to check up on how we were feeling with our cars! I'm happy with the car I decided to lease and I look forward to seeing the Hyundai guys during my maintenance visits! I was TOTALLY PLEASED with the kindness, the patience, and the helpfulness of "Smiley" ...it was such a nice experience, especially since I know nothing about cars and what to look for. He pointed out the neat features that the Hyundai Sonata had, and took the extra time to explain everything to me and show me the parts that he explained. I explained that I didn't want to spend more than XXX amount of $$$ and he helped me to get a very satisfactory price. I think "Smiley" deserves a lot of credit...especially since he is one of the newer ones there. I normally stay away from car dealers due to my dislike of car salesmen but I was helped by Alex in the Parts dept during my visit to Tony Hyundai. I normally stay away from car dealers due to my dislike of car salesmen but I went anyway. Alex made my visit to the dealer an absolutely great experience and one that I will be sure to tell others about. He went out of his way to find the exact parts I needed for my 2005 Hyundai Elantra and even came outside with me to my vehicle to ensure the parts were correct. Eventhough parts through a dealer tend to cost much more than elsewhere, I went ahead with the purchase because I know that if any issues should pop-up, Alex will follow through and take care of things. This kind of customer service is rare to across these days with the fresh crop of lazy 20-somthings with tatoo's everywhere and the same ignorant mohawked-type spiked hair cut. Alex reminded me that there are still people out there that care about what they do and it shows through his work ethic. I might of only ordered parts through Tony Hyundai, but my experience with Alex in the Parts department was A+ all the way and reminded me that there customer service does still exist, even if in small isolated pockets like a parts counter off of Ka Uka Blvd., but it does exist. Thank you Alex for your attentiveness and follow through! * Tony Hyundai Management: * - People like Alex are truly an asset to your organization and should be recognized for their efforts. If you don't have any type employee recognition or reward system in place, I highly recommend that implement one. Once in place, or if it already exists, Alex should be top of the list. The day prior to even arriving at Tony Honda, my great experience had already started. I was looking for a used, reliable, and inexpensive car for my wife, and found a few prospects online at the Tony Ho experience had already started. I was looking for a used, reliable, and inexpensive car for my wife, and found a few prospects online at the Tony Honda website. I filled out the short, simple questionnaire, hoping to receive a reply some time early the next week, since this was Friday evening. Not even five minutes later, the store manager is contacting me by phone, confirming the cars I selected online, are in fact of the types, models and makes, that I am looking for. After obtaining a few more criteria from me, he said that he would have one of his Sales Persons contact me to set up an appointment. It could not have been more than 20 minutes later when I received a second call from Tony Honda, and this time it was my soon to be Sales Person, Mr. Aaron Demello, who was more than willing to listen to the automobiles I was interested in and set me up for an appointment to meet that following day. Upon arriving at Tony Honda on Saturday morning, my wife and I were impressed by the breadth and scope of the inventory of automobiles on the lot, to include new and used vehicles. We got a chance to look around a bit as Aaron was finalizing some issues with a current customer, which gave a chance to look at some of the new Hyundai's on the lot, which we hope to be able to afford later on. Once Aaron was done with his customer, he greeted us warmly and genuinely, and of course asked if we saw anything we liked, which of course we did, but needed to keep our budget in mind, so we naturally gravitated to the used cars, where I asked Aaron about the particular vehicles that I saw online. Unfortunately, my first choice, a Honda Accord, of course, was no longer available, but my second choice, a Toyota Camry was, so off we went on a test drive with no delay! Around the block and out onto the highway, with Aaron being as personable as he could be, and I only saw him grab the 'prayer-handle' above the window once, so all-in-all, I'd say the test drive was a success! When we returned to Tony Honda, Aaron assured me that the sticker price I saw would not be the one I would pay, as it had been advertised at a lower price online, and that was the one he got us. At the last minute as we were sitting at Aaron's desk and looking at the new Hyundai sitting there, the wife and I decided to see what Aaron could do for us to get us into one of those instead! So, when Aaron returned with our approved paperwork for the Camry, we hit him up with our plan to get us into a new Hyundai instead, and so with no hesitation whatsoever, Aaron did up the new paperwork, and to it to financing. Unfortunately, having just arrived on the island, and within a month of being here, we had bought a new house, another car, opened new bank accounts, established new credit (We had been living in Germany for 12 years and had no credit cards, who would have thought that would be a bad thing, right?!) so one, out of our three credit scores was 100 points lower that the other two, and Aaron and the financial department, were unable to offer us a 60 month financing plan on one of the new Hyundai's like we had hoped. But the point being, Aaron went out of his way to accommodate or whimsical thinking that it might be a viable option for us. So, after securing the deal on the Camry, at a higher price than I wanted, and higher payment than a new Hyundai (But what can you do, right?!), we shook on it. Aaron told us to go have some lunch while to the Tony Honda crew washed our new (used) Camry, and gave her an oil change. We returned an hour later and drove off the lot with our new (used) Tony Honda Toyota Camry! Aaron seems to be a god fit a Tony Honda and is very warm and personable, and I hope to bring my kids their to purchase their first cars a couple of years down the road, and fully expect that Aaron will, and should still be there, with the exception that he would now be the one introducing me to another fine Tony Honda Sales Person, in his new capacity of Sales Manager! Will definitely return soon, and not just because my Camry's "Maintenance Required' light is on either! v/r Rod Lechwar More
