Tom Wood Lexus

Scheduled an appointment on 12/11/23 for an alignment and road force balancing. Left the service and everything felt good at the time on the 50 mile trip home. Two days later, while I was traveling out of state, my wife was driving through town and the tpms monitor came on and a city block later the tire was completely flat. Luckily, roadside assistance came out to help change the tire and could not find any punctures or damages to the sidewalls, other than scratches from the rim sitting on the flat tire, so I had him place it in rear and I would have it looked at/ repaired upon my return on Friday. At the local tire shop, it was noted that tire sensor was installed hand tight and once tightened, held operating pressure fine with no leaks. Unfortunately, when the tire went down, the inside of the sidewalls were shaved down some and a new tire was needed. Called Alisha at the service department and they stated that there was no way the previous service could have caused this and it must have been a bad tire install by the dealer next to them that is also Tom Wood and sold me the car. However, this is making me question the service now as well, since road force balancing requires the rim and tire to be repositioned for optimal balancing. I had an opportunity to observe and learn the balancing process at the local tire shop when replacing the damaged tire(Thanks Friendly Tire for the help). Alisha said the service manager would have to call to discuss this with me on 12/15/23 to go through this issue but as of 12/20/23, no phone call or attempt has been made. This is very disappointing that they did not ask to see the tire, inspect the sensor, or even call back to discuss. Will find another shop to service my Lexus from now on. More
