Called to check on a F150 Lariat that I liked only to be told that they couldn't find the vehicle on the lot. 2 weeks later I was called and said they did find it and then sent me pics but it was the wrong told that they couldn't find the vehicle on the lot. 2 weeks later I was called and said they did find it and then sent me pics but it was the wrong vehicle. They did locate the correct vehicle later that day and sent me pics to confirm so I agreed to come test drive the truck. However, they sent me an email confirmation of my test drive with a different vehicle. I still went. Test drive was fine except that the truck was out of alignment and cutting tires. I asked if I could leave my car as collateral and or pay a deposit to take the vehicle home to see if it would fit in the garage next to my wife's full size SUV and then return that night or the next day. The saleswoman checked with her manager and they said yes, but we need to come to an agreement on price first, otherwise, there is no need to proceed. I didn't like this, but was serious about buying the truck so I agreed. Then they hit me with a $5000 extended warranty and another $1800 for ceramic coating, plus doc fees, etc. Nearly $8K more than the sticker price. Huh? They said that it was highly recommended that I choose these services, but I refused and they removed. Then we negotiated and came to terms on a price and they made me sign a purchase agreement. I asked if I could go and they said no, you still need to make a $1000 deposit, which I did. I was handed the keys but then told to wait as they needed to get the vehicle into service first because they took it on a trade and it had been loaned out so they hadn't had a chance to service yet. I only wanted to take it home for the night but they refused but said they would get it in tomorrow and call me. So now I have signed a purchase agreement and paid $1K deposit but I still can't take the truck, but I was serious about the truck, so I agreed. They called me the next day and told me that they had to replace tires, brakes, rotors, etc. and that if I still wanted the truck, I would need to pay $2K more!! What?! You made me sign a purchase agreement that I didn't want to sign, and I paid a $1k deposit. Isn't that contractual? I asked to be transferred to the manager (Jeremy) who I went through the timeline of events and who told me that I was getting a great deal by only charging $2K more as he could sell this for $2K more than that because it was a Lariat and they didn't have any on the lot. I told him how dissatisfied I was and that I too was in business, but if I treated customers like this, I wouldn't be. He admitted that they shouldn't have had me sign the purchase agreement but that this would be the new price if I wanted to proceed. I again said how unscrupulous this was to break a deal that already had a purchase agreement and a deposit down. He finally said OK, will you be paying cash or credit/financing with us? I said neither. You can keep your truck as I don't want to do business with anyone who would renege on a done deal. Very unorganized outfit and unscrupulous. I think they already had another buyer and this is why they were reneging on the original deal. This is a warning for anyone else who may be interested in a vehicle at Shawnee Mission Ford. Buyer beware. More
We need to be heard. Dont go here. We ordered a Bronco 2 years ago and it finally showed up! We were SO excited! the wait wasn't an issue, that was supply chain th Dont go here. We ordered a Bronco 2 years ago and it finally showed up! We were SO excited! the wait wasn't an issue, that was supply chain things that no one had control of. THE PROBLEM CAME when we arrived to pick up the car we ordered from Ford.com and were placed with this dealership. It took us 6 hours at the dealership to pick up a car we had already ordered and supposedly sent in applications for the loan so it was going to be fast. It took 6 hours. We were the only customers in there for a lot of the day, so it wasn't due to it being busy. I can only guess that it was a tactic after what happened to us there. The salesman was great and we have worked with him for the interim 2 years so that part was fine. It was the finance team that was Abhorrent and actually Used illegal tactics to coerce us into getting an extended warranty. We were told that the interest rate was going to be 6% and I knew that was too much so I asked for them to do better. The finance man Tony came out and said "they couldnt sell us the car without the warranty" and he could do 5.5% and that he could give us a better deal on the extended warranty. That rate was still Over market rate, and my credit is 815 with plenty in the bank and income, so I know that was a tactic on their side not due to our finances. I pushed back, and [who I was told was the manager] Marlena Morgan came out and told us IF we buy the extended warranty we could get 3.9% and if not we would have to now pay 7% She said that the bank wouldn't take a loan if we didn't purchase the warranty. And that was the final answer. We opted to get that since we were told in no uncertain terms that was the only way to get market rate interest. I am not used to buying new cars so I didn't know better till later. I called the bank. That is not true. They don't, and NEVER have required that a buyer purchase the extended warranty. FURTHERMORE after some research it is ILLEGAL to tie purchase together in that way. [Its called "Tied Selling" feel free to look it up. I wish I had known before going.] We were lied to to make us spend THOUSANDS of more dollars than we had to. I just got off the phone with Marlena, she told me [and I have a recording] that I was mistaken. "We must have had a lot going on that day and didn't remember". My wife was there. I was there. I made sure to ask why we had to buy the warranty to get the interest rate. She said it was the bank policy. That was a lie. It was Illegal. I am so angry at this. UPDATE: just off the phone with the GM Jeremy [who made sure to let us know that he was having a good day and that our problem wouldn't make it a bad day]. He doubled down and said that it must have been us confusing the part when Tony said "we can't sell you this car without the warranty" or when Marlena said "we HAD to get the warranty or the bank wont give us the loan". I recognize that he has to support his staff. I also recognize that I have the power of the internet to let you the customer or potential customer know that THEY LIE AND THEN TELL YOU THAT *YOU* DON'T REMEMBER RIGHT IF CONFRONTED. WE love the car, buy one from someone else. More
I brought my vehicle to Shawnee Mission Ford Service Department to get an oil change. After getting the vehicle back it now does not run properly. I would not recommend this dealership to do anything Department to get an oil change. After getting the vehicle back it now does not run properly. I would not recommend this dealership to do anything to your vehicle. A SIMPLE oil change and now bigger issues. Coincidence? I think not. My vehicle was running perfectly with only 25,000 miles on it. Then they wanted to charge me $169.00 to diagnose what THEY did to my vehicle. Shame on you Shawnee Mission Ford. More

I drive a Ford and have my vehicle service work done at a Ford dealer. Shawnee Mission Ford has never impressed me but they are close to where I live. I made a reservation 5 days in advance for a typical oil change and when I got there I was informed of a 2+ hour wait for oil changes. No explanation or apology was given. I took off work early for this appointment and lost that time. Because Shawnee Mission Ford is unable to manage reservations, I will drive a few extra miles to better preforming dealers like Olathe Ford, Victory Ford or Bob Allen Ford. More

I recently took my Ford Focus in to have some work done on the AC and radio. I also had a bumper vent that I asked to have repaired. They said I would need to replace my entire bumper for $1500 because the clips that hold the vent in place were gone. Guess what I just found inside the vent hole? My perfectly intact vent cover with the clips in place!! I'm glad I didn't get my entire bumper replaced. But as if that wasn't enough, after they "fixed" my radio it went out less than a month later. I paid $1900 to have the AC and radio fixed. When it went out the second time, I asked for them to refund my money, but I was told by David that I had to bring it in order for them to diagnose it. After much hemming and hawing with them, I brought it in, was told they would have it for 1 day (they had it for a week) and only got a loaner car after I explained several times over I couldn't be that long without my vehicle. So, they had my car for a week. They call me the following Monday to tell me that the part in the radio that needs repair wasn't covered under the warranty, and that it would be another $1K or more to fix. I was stunned. I asked for money back but they initially refused. On talking to David, he said because I had a working radio for a month that he wouldn't refund my money. I have NEVER been treated so poorly by a dealership anywhere, ever, as on this particular occasion. And because I got some of my money refunded, only after several calls and threatening to go the owner, I was going to let it slide-- until I found my bumper vent this morning while trying to figure out how to fix it myself. Wow. I'm stunned. So I was told these guys go to school and have to make sure they diagnose everything right, etc etc, by David, who was incredibly condescending and rude-- and yet these "educated" guys missed my freaking bumper vent hanging out inside the hole. I almost have no words. I can only say STAY AWAY from this place. They are a sham. They will way overquote you, overprice you, keep your car for days on end, and then try to keep your money when they don't do the repair right the first time. More

($800 in "labor," which could not have taken more than an hour.) Absolutely ridiculous. We dropped off the Explorer on Friday and I had to make a call at 12:30 p.m. on Monday to see what they had discovered and did not receive an estimate until close to 3 p.m. Miraculously, our vehicle was ready to pick up by 9 a.m. Tuesday. We will not be back. More

So it took them weeks to get all my parts in and then by the time I took my car it ended up there over a month.. I was told 7 business days. I paid for a rental car for all of this time. They never called a the time I took my car it ended up there over a month.. I was told 7 business days. I paid for a rental car for all of this time. They never called and gave me any updates so I had to reach out for them to tell me they were waiting on a part.. Which isn’t my fault yet here I am paying for a rental for days extra. Horrible communication and sense or urgency it seems. More
