Best service This was my first time visiting Russ Darrow. Everyone was so nice and willing to help. Rowley was willing to do anything to help get me in a car. Eager to sell you a car, then forget you! Tire popped after only 50 miles. No tire iron in car. Wheel rusted to hub. I pointed out to them multiple times that the wheel rusted to the hub makes it obvious they never inspected the brakes. Something a dealer is legally required to do! But they just keep repeating the same phrase "you bought it as is". As is shouldn't mean I break down two days and 50 miles later. As-is doesn't mean you don't need to inspect! As-is doesn't mean there's no consequences to treating your customers like dirt! The salesman said there's nothing he can do. His manager won't answer my calls. His voicemail says not to leave a voicemail, send an email cause he won't check it. Doesn't respond to emails either. Will never go back, and won't ever recommend them to anyone ever! Good luck selling cars with that business model. More

The overall experience was an adventure J. Todd took me on a test drive Friday during my lunch hour. What I expected to be a 30 minute event turned into an adventure. About 5 minutes in we J. Todd took me on a test drive Friday during my lunch hour. What I expected to be a 30 minute event turned into an adventure. About 5 minutes in we were rear ended while stopped at a stop light. The impact was quite hard and I expected, based on past experience, that the damage would be quite severe. We pulled over and got out to assess the damage, which was surprisingly minimal, and that is when things started to get interesting. The driver that crashed into us seemed slow and likely was intoxicated. J. Todd called the police and started to explain the situation. The guy then came up to me and said he would just pay for the damage. I could tell he didn’t want to wait around for the police to show up. I told him I couldn’t do anything as the car was not mine. He then walked back towards his truck and attempted to get in, and J. Todd while still on the phone blocked the guy from getting in and told him he could not leave until the police arrived. It was obvious to both J. Todd and myself that the guy was trying to leave the scene of the accident. The guy then walked behind his truck and dropped down behind the tailgate for some reason. J. Todd noticed this right away and proceeded to open the passenger door on the truck and start looking for the keys. After quickly searching for a few moments he popped back out to check on the status of the guy. He was still bent down behind the truck so once again he started looking for the keys, which he found and removed from the truck. During his looking for the keys I thought it would be a good idea to take a picture of the front license plate just in case the guy did leave the accident. With the guy’s truck key in hand J. Todd said we could get back in the car so we didn’t freeze to death, being it was frigidly cold outside.. After getting back into the car J. Todd was still talking to the police. I then noticed in the rear view mirror that the guy got in his truck and was searching for his keys. Once he realized we had them he approached the passenger window where J. Todd was still conversing with the police. J. Todd opened the window a bit and the guy asked if he took his key, to which J. Todd responded “yes, I was instructed to”. The guy went back to his car and then returned again about 1 minute later. He again knocked on the window. J. Todd told the police that the guy wanted his keys and thought he was going to leave the accident scene. He asked the police if he should give the keys back or not, and I could hear them say “we cannot tell you to keep the keys or give them back, that decision is up to you”. The thought going through my mind was that I didn’t want a violent situation happening because we had his keys. I then suggested to J. Todd that we should just return the keys and let the police handle the situation. J. Todd agreed and then opened the window again and the guy asked to sit in the backseat of the car we were in, as he was cold. He then proceeded to give J. Todd his drivers license, and J. Todd returned his keys to him. The guy went back to his truck and got in, and we figured he would take off right away, but he didn’t. After sitting in his truck for a couple of minutes he pulled in front of us and parked. A few minutes later we noticed his parking lights flash, and then the guy floors it, his tires spinning and throwing gravel, as he tears across the road down an alley. With the guy gone J. Todd said he wished he would have gotten the guys license plate number, to which I said I took a picture of it with my phone. A police officer showed up a couple of minutes later and we shared all the details of what transpired, he took information about the accident, and then he went back to his vehicle to check the license plate number and whatever else. The officer returned a few minutes later and mentions that he ran the plates and they were not legitimate. After some further discussion and information was exchanged with J. Todd to take back to the dealer for dealing with the accident, we were free to go. We returned to the dealer with one crazy story and an experience neither J. Todd or I will forget anytime soon. Ultimately there was a positive outcome in that nobody was injured in the accident, I got to experience firsthand how well the CRV handled a pretty hard rear crash with minimal damage, and ironically the car I really wanted wasn’t the one we were driving. I had wanted to drive a dark gray CRV, but first off it took about 30 minutes to try to get access to the car which was parked in by several other vehicles. Then after finally getting to the car, it wouldn’t start because it was so cold outside and the battery was dead. As a result we test drove a similar car in a different color. Today (Saturday) I returned to finalize everything and pick up the new car. The overall buying experience I had was both and adventure and very positive, and I would like to thank everyone at Russ Darrow that helped out. I would especially like to thank J. Todd, Adam, and Al, and would highly recommend them for your next car buying experience. More
