What a turn off I've been interested in buying an electric car for quite a while now, but since my wife and I already own a Corvette and a Lexus it didn't seem like I've been interested in buying an electric car for quite a while now, but since my wife and I already own a Corvette and a Lexus it didn't seem like a Tesla (another luxury-mobile) was the right fit for us, especially as our oldest boy turns driving age this year. Then Chevy came out with the Bolt. "Wow," I thought, "That might be just the ticket for a little, eco-friendly commuter." SInce I was in DC this week for work, and had some free time, I stopped in at Ourisman (the dealership closest to National Airport) to take a first-hand look at a Bolt. After some fumbling around, as if they weren't prepared to deal with a walk-in, they connected me with one of the salespeople to take a look. The manager said that if I wanted to take if for a drive to just come back in and ask. So far so good. I walked to the car, looked around, sat inside and turned it on. Since I've read a lot about the regenerative one-pedal driving system and hadn't been turned off by anything else about the car, I decided that a quick spin around the block was in order. As per the manager's instructions, I walked over to ask the sales manager (Sean Rizzo) if I could take the car for a drive. And then it all went wrong. Telling the truth, I said that I wasn't from the area but I was a serious potential buyer for a Bolt. Which I absolutely am - a 100% serious, all-cash, write-a-check-and-drive-away with it kind of buyer. But Mr. Rizzo - at that moment the face of Ourisman and of the entire Chevrolet team - said, "You aren't from the area? So you're not going to buy the car?" "No, but I'm a serious potential buyer." "I'm sure you are, but you can't drive the car." Things went bad from there. The bottom line here was that Ourisman, in the person of Mr. Rizzo, didn't give half a xxxx if I bought a car from Chevrolet or not. His only concern was if I was going to buy a car from THEM. I wasn't proposing to drive the car to Richmond or do anything stupid. I just wanted to drive it around the block, see how it felt. I OWN a Corvette. I OWN a Lexus. I could buy this car several times over with the cash I have sitting in my checking account. I am NOT saying that means I should have been given special treatment - but I'm definitely saying that if they treated me like this, they must be pretty crappy to everyone who comes in the door. Stay away from this dealership. Give your business and your money to someone else who understands basic customer service - as a representative of a brand - involves more than just the immediate question of whether you are going to buy a car from them at that moment. I may still buy a Bolt. Or I may not. But if I do, it will be DESPITE the miserable performance by Ourisman. More

I attempted to reschedule a clean up along with my complaint that the navigation system was faulty and told 'it isn't my job to reschedule you. Talk to my service advisor.' I've left several messages and received no call back after three days. Terrible customer service. More

Service after the Sale Doesn't Exist I purchased a 2015 Chevy Sonic from this dealership. In response to a GM customer satisfaction survey, I sent an e-mail to the manager, Bob Biaggi. I purchased a 2015 Chevy Sonic from this dealership. In response to a GM customer satisfaction survey, I sent an e-mail to the manager, Bob Biaggi. It is reproduced, in part, here: "So far, there have been three issues with the purchase of my 2015 Chevy Sonic. Phone messages are never returned. But, registering my dissatisfaction, via Ourisman's website generates phone calls from showroom staff. The car was sold to me without an antenna. Complaining again, via the Ourisman website, resulted in a call from the showroom to fetch the antenna needed. With a 10/4/15 DMV deadline looming, I had to use the website a second time to get the tag registration transferred from my Aveo to the Sonic." These days, GM sends me junk mail on a regular basis – useless coupons for fantastic GM service department deals. I tried contacting Ourisman to get my name and address taken off of all their service solicitation lists. Of course, phone calls are never returned and Ourisman has stopped responding to my inquiries via their website. My Sonic has a 24-month/24,000 mile warranty. Since I drive the car so little, I’m hoping I won’t need to take the car to the Ourisman service department, for warranty service, before the end of the 24-month timeframe. I am having oil changes and regular maintenance performed by a trusted car repair shop. I end this review with some advice to anyone who has a motor vehicle under warranty, regardless of the manufacturer. If doable, take your motor vehicle to a mechanic you know has a proven track record for basic maintenance and repairs. Have said vehicle checked out for whatever you think needs fixing. If the mechanic says a problem can be fixed for free, because of the warranty, then, and only then, should you take the vehicle to the service department at the dealership. More
No Hassle! Buying a car always sucks, but Ourisman made the process as easy as possible. Really wanted a car that was not on the lot. Abdullah listened to our wa Buying a car always sucks, but Ourisman made the process as easy as possible. Really wanted a car that was not on the lot. Abdullah listened to our wants and was not pushy when it came to options we did not want. He found the car with the exact features we were looking for. Abdullah and I communicated frequently via text message, which was nice because you did not have to stop what your doing to talk - everything was to the point. Atef was our finance guy, and he was also great. Explained what was going on, made the sales pitch, but also was not pushy. I can't remember the sales manager's name, but he was also exceptional. When we had questions about the deal, he explained everything to a T. Overall, the process was smooth, their offer was great, and I am extremely happy. The best part: they came in significantly over my estimation of trade in value. More
