Open Road Volkswagen were very professional and refused to let me leave without a car that I wanted. After shopping around, between the chip shortage and practically no inventory at other dealership I came to let me leave without a car that I wanted. After shopping around, between the chip shortage and practically no inventory at other dealership I came across Open road and met with Juan who not only provided me with the Cross sport I wanted but help make the purchasing process as easy and for the price that worked for me. Very negative experience trying to buy a certified used car from this dealership. They tried the classic bait and switch, telling me they didn't know the car I had driven 45 minutes to see had been sold th car from this dealership. They tried the classic bait and switch, telling me they didn't know the car I had driven 45 minutes to see had been sold the day before. This after the dealership confirmed my appointment to test drive the car just hours before. Then told me I was rude when I got angry. More
If I could leave a negative review I would but unfortunately all I can leave is a one star review. Went to Open Road VW of bridgewater to look at a new car. Test drove the car and was sitting down unfortunately all I can leave is a one star review. Went to Open Road VW of bridgewater to look at a new car. Test drove the car and was sitting down to talk numbers. As price was being explained I noticed that there was a fee of roughly $5,500 denoted under aftermarket markup added to the price. I asked for an explanation. Salesman explained it to be a safety package (I.e nitrogen in the tires, etc.) and etching of the windows. When I was appalled that each of those cost close to $2000 each he went and got another sales person to come over to explain. This new sales person claimed the previous salesperson was new and he would be here to better explain the cost. Again this salesperson said the cost included the safety package, as above, costing roughly $990 and etching costing $350. When I stared that does not add up to $5000 what is the rest of it he said that it was aftermarket cozts. I asked what that meant . He stated it was a charge tacked onto the price off the car for keeping the doors of the dealership open and “feeding their families”. As I got more and more upset the manager got involved. I stood to walk out and claimed it was scam. The manager said “don’t talk to me like that.” There were two other witnesses to this event. And other people in the dealership attempting to sign paperwork. This dealership is definitely trying to unfairly take money from unsuspecting people due to the pandemic. The aftermarket markup was not itemized on the sales sheet and one would not know what it entailed unless you asked. More
I had the worst experience in this place scheduled an appointment for the EGR to be inspected since I have a check engine light on for this concern also I had a problem with the car cranking but does not appointment for the EGR to be inspected since I have a check engine light on for this concern also I had a problem with the car cranking but does not start. The whole job was just to change a fuse which I was charged $174.07 then the cleared the other codes saying that the car now is in perfect condition and not to worry about anything else. I picked up the car and after driving it for 45 minutes the check engine lights came back on so I called the service department to bring it back they said they can’t take it back and also hhthey don’t know how long will take to repair the car if they will take it and they said to just go and find another dealer that will have a technician available to work on this specific car because this type of cars needs a diesel mechanic More
Trying to charge me $3600 in fees above the advertised price of the car would garner a two star review and an angry customer. But what happened to me was much worse. They took three days to finally let me price of the car would garner a two star review and an angry customer. But what happened to me was much worse. They took three days to finally let me know the actual numbers of the deal. They wouldn't let me know over the phone; as Joe the sales manager so delicately said "Just like when I want to go out with a girl, i don't do anything over the phone." As soon as I got to the dealership for the third day (its an hour drive both ways from brooklyn) he breaks the news: $4000 in fees, thats $699 documentation fee, $399 etch fee, and $2800 Reconditioning fee because "it costs a lot of money to get a car Certified Pre Owned." I tried to talk him down just so that this whole thing wasn't a complete waste of time but the farthest I got down was to $3600 in fees. So now the car advertised on Auto Trader at $22,900 is going to cost $29,500 out-the-door. Why bring me into the dealership three times just to joke around with me? When I was leaving, Joe told me, "If you come back for this car, it's going to be $3000 more expensive." Good! YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ADVERTISED IT AT $22,900 IN THE FIRST PLACE. Instead, they are roping people in by advertising it at a low price and then charging huge fees. $3600 in fees... what a waste of three days of my life. Btw two of the times I came in I had to drag my wife and kids because we needed two people to bring it home. I work in public schools and my wife is a nurse - we have enough stress and no free time in our lives to deal with this BS. No respect. Oh p.s., when I told Joe that the Auto Trader ad only listed the etch fee and doc fee (at lower rates than he was quoting me btw), he told me that I missed a line at the bottom that said "and cost of included parts" which was a reference to the $3000 reconditioning fee they would charge for adding new brakes and rotors to the car. When I informed him that this sentence did not exist in the ad, he said "Apparently I need to teach you how to read." Of course, the ad was already deleted but he apologized for the rude comment regardless. They lost my business forever, for all Open Road dealerships. Good job, Joe and Pete. More

Typical shysters! Steer clear from this place. The actual sticker price on the car we were interested in was around $4,000 higher than what the car was listed for on their own website, as well as other sites sticker price on the car we were interested in was around $4,000 higher than what the car was listed for on their own website, as well as other sites. “Every car dealership does this” is what they told us when we questioned the immense price discrepancy. Fortunately for us, we purchased a car at a different dealership who actually honored the listed prices online and did not engage in this price gouging tactic. More
Horrible pricing dealership with excessive pricing with excuses. My initial complaint is that we specifically wanted a model and trim and manual transmission and the salesperson kept offering us what we did excuses. My initial complaint is that we specifically wanted a model and trim and manual transmission and the salesperson kept offering us what we didn’t want. Although Sebastian was friendly, his manager kept giving us excuses. I visited this dealership to lease a Jetta that was priced at 24k, they quoted me 466 a month for a lease, which adds up to almost 18k, Which is excessive for a lease even for a Jetta. When asked why it was priced so high, the reason was because they had a chip shortage, which had no effect on us because the car we wanted was sitting outside the door. We had a better experience at Jack Daniels of Fair Lawn. More
I came to this dealership because it is a Costco Pricing dealership. I was greeted as usual by someone and they immediately asked for my license. I told them I would provide my license once it was needed so dealership. I was greeted as usual by someone and they immediately asked for my license. I told them I would provide my license once it was needed so they took my name, cell number and email address. I was then assigned a salesman and he immediately asked me for the same info (my license) and told him I would provide it once we arrived at a figure and had a deal. I asked him for pricing on one vehicle that I already picked out, he again told me he needed my license to test drive the car. I told him I didn't need to test drive the car since I already test drove one at a different dealership. He went to the "Wizard" to get me pricing and came back, wrote on the back of a piece of paper the MSRP with sales tax. I asked him what the Costco pricing was and again he told me he couldn't give me a price until I gave him my license. I've dealt with other Costco Pricing dealership and never have I provided my license to get pricing. I only needed to show my Costco membership card. Having been a victim of identity theft twice, I am reluctant to give out my license unless it is absolutely necessary. I would not go back to this dealership ever again. They don't sell cars, they collect license information, for what reason ???? You decide... More
