Sarah, we appreciate your business purchasing a 2009 MDX and apologize that your vehicle is having issues with the alternator only 10 days after taking possession. Unfortunately, like any 10 year old car, issues can pop up as vehicles deteriorate with age. Our team does a complete check and inspection on all vehicles when they come into our possession and prior to going on sale to make sure everything is functioning properly at that time, but we cannot guarantee mechanics on vehicles where warranties ended (more than six years prior in this case.) Vehicles out of warranty are explicitly marked “No Warranty” on the window sticker and sold as such. We would not be in business if we covered every repair on every decade old car we sold, even though we wish we could. We understand your frustration with the situation and apologize that you’re experiencing issues and would be happy to give you top dollar for the 2009 towards a new car that has a 4 year/ 50k mile warranty and will be 100% trouble free.
