I went to this dealer on 2/27/21 and purchased a sonata from them. Car was on sale for $15156. Closing costs were $1721 including Doc fee, licenses, title and taxes. I got $2000 on trade in and $2000 out of pocket. Factoring all those numbers I should have been financed for $13876 not $15455 and they have it. Turns out Ed Howell (finance guy) shoved several add-ons arbitrarily with out asking me. $899 (theft deterrent) $299 (accessories) I brought this to Eds attention but he refused to fix it. Saying it he could not do anything else. The loan was already written. Did not offer a refund. Taking into account that they sold me the vehicle at $15735 instead of 15156 and all the add-ons these guys robbed me of an extra $1777. Considering I bought my toyota from this same folks (bobloquercioautogroup) he has several dealerships under different brands I would have expected at the very least a fair treatment and not get scammed. I dealt with Mike Menah (GM) Ed Howell (finance) and David Kang (sales person). I will look into what my options are, since they have refused to remedy this situation. Have all the numbers on the contract and their math doesn't even add up. Stay away from these guys. More
I went to a couple of Hyundai dealerships and none had the Santa Fe Calligraphy, so I called Elgin Hyundai, who said there was one in stock, when I arrived, the model wasn't there, but Tony J, asked about the Santa Fe Calligraphy, so I called Elgin Hyundai, who said there was one in stock, when I arrived, the model wasn't there, but Tony J, asked about what color I wanted and if I wanted to test drive one when any Calligraphy arrives, Tony was GREAT! As soon as one arrived, he called me, I drove it, and I loved it, but still it was not my color, Tony told me that the color I wanted was coming in and he would call me when it arrive. A few days later, the car with the all my options and color arrived. Tony called me and told me the car is being back off the truck as we spoke! That is AMAZING customer service! I went by the dealership that evening and I bought it that night! Plus I was looking to buy "weather tech" floor mats, but Tony said we provide them for you! Again, surprise, and talk about great news... we had a snow storm the next day!!! More
i walked in yesterday 02/02/2021 to buy a used 2017 Santa Fe. They tack on this "mandatory" 997 fee for AIP, which is protection for the inside of the vehicle, and you do not have the option to say no to it. There is also another fee for 581 for "pro package" which is another fee for them cleaning up the car for you before purchase and making sure everything is ok on it, at least that was explained to me, which is unfair as that should already be included in the sales price of 13821. This is my 3rd car purchase and first time ive ever felt unhappy leaving and not once before ever heard of these "mandatory fees". i even talk to a buddy who used to be a dealer and told me that those fees are wrongful. on top of that i was told a day prior that there would be no charge for me bringing in my plates and have them added to the car which was another 301. after those charges, the rest i understand, county tax 182.23 sales tax 1321.14 doc fee 303.60 and whatever a ert fee is for 25. I loved the car i was purchasing but the experience from 3:00pm to 8pm was awful. i left with a pain in my stomach. way to ruin happiness from buying a vehicle when one should be excited. More

Purchasing a car takes time, at Elgin Hyunadai, the time spent was unhurried and pleasant. David Hauge went way above and beyond first by showing us a nice variety of choices for purchase. Once we decided, he spent loads of time introducing us to features we had never seen before! What fun! Ed Howell explained so clearly the finance options available and patiently helped us to a satisfactory conclusion. We look forward to future experiences with this professional and friendly group. Purchased a used car (2016 Sante Fe) from this dealership in late June, and it came with a faulty motor. I understand that the car is used so I could not expect something in perfect condition. The salesperson pushed this car on me although I was a tad hesitant. Now on month 5, the engine is completely busted and the dealership is unwilling to do anything for me. They told me to replace the engine would cost $9K. Now I am left to make payments on a car that is no longer working. The most horrible customer service I have experienced, very unhelpful staff, and do not care what so ever about the inconvenience, damage, and costs of their actions as long as a sale was made. Manager would not even get on the phone to speak with me. Wish I would have followed my instincts. More
