In January, I brought in my '17 Alltrack in to Dirito Brothers Volkswagen because of a roughness I've been noticing in the engine/transmission when on and off the gas pedal at slow speeds, most apparent Brothers Volkswagen because of a roughness I've been noticing in the engine/transmission when on and off the gas pedal at slow speeds, most apparent when driving in heavy traffic. The adviser said they'd investigate and let me know if any necessary repairs would be covered under the bumper-to-bumper CPO warranty. About five hours later, I received a phone call from the service adviser who said they were unable to replicate the issue and that I could come pick up my car. When I arrived, the adviser directed me to the cashier where they charged me nearly $500 for diagnosis. How can this be when they did not perform any work on my car?? Regardless, how could they justify TWO resources spending MULTIPLE hours trying to replicate an issue under a variety of road/driving conditions (according to them)? On a previous service visit, I'd requested an suspension noise be looked into. On that visit, the technician disassembled the strut, reassembled/torqued all fasteners and lubricated where necessary, and didn't charge me a dime because it was a "known issue" per service bulletin. On this visit, the adviser said that both he AND the technician attempted to replicate the issue without success and decided to charge me for an arbitrary amount of service time they spent "diagnosing" a non-existent issue, according to them. I will certainly think twice before bringing my car back to Dirito Brothers Volkswagen again for service, I will not be referring any friends or family to this dealership for any transaction or service in the future.
