Great Car, Great Process, a Little Loose on Followup. I bought a great vehicle from Carvana, which I love. The purchase and financing was easy and the vehicle was delivered to my house right on time. I bought a great vehicle from Carvana, which I love. The purchase and financing was easy and the vehicle was delivered to my house right on time. I was able to test drive and go over the vehicle the same way you do at a dealer. I had 7 days to have the car check out before Carvana took any money from me. I didn't need the free Carvana short term warrantee, but it was nice to know it was there. There is an option to buy an extended warranty also. The car was delivered with a Georgia temporary registration and plate. At this point there were some bumps in the road, which did all get resolved fairly quickly. Carvana wasn't able to provide me with my permanent registration and plates until 5 days after my temporary registration expired. Although Carvana did compensate me for the extra time, it never really needed to happen. I was asked for the VIN Inspection form as the car was brought in from out of state. No problem, except this had already been completed by their own agent in Connecticut. Then I was asked for my insurance card that had been included in another email. Once I sent it, no problem, but the process was delayed by the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. Everyone was courteous and it was all worked out. This seems to be a recurring theme with Carvana customer service. So, if you have all your ducks in a row and can afford to be patient, you'll be happy in the end. If not, Carvana might not be for you. More

Be sure you know exactly what you're getting. Carvana has a glossy sheen of internet retailer - it feels like buying a car via Amazon. Click click done. However, it is imperative that you know ex Carvana has a glossy sheen of internet retailer - it feels like buying a car via Amazon. Click click done. However, it is imperative that you know exactly what you're getting - you MUST use that 7-day return option for due diligence, returning the vehicle is the ONLY bargaining position you have. Get the car inspected by a pro IMMEDIATELY. I bought a low-miles Subaru WRX, after a lengthy search. The Carvana "150-point inspection" pointed to a few cosmetic blemishes that were, frankly, very minor. This makes you feel warm and fuzzy because "if they're pointing out all the little paint chips, everything else must be solid on a 46k miles car, right?". The car I was delivered had every fluid burnt and dirty. Brakes, coolant, oil, steering, diff, and transmission fluid were all in terrible condition. Even a lay person would have known it was off, they were that dirty. Given the mileage, it's likely no fluid changes had ever been done, aside from (hopefully) engine oil. Worse was that the brake rotors were very thin and deeply pitted with rust. My mechanic was adamant that immediate replacement was needed. All-in, $1200+ of immediate services would have been necessary. The important detail here is that the Carvana "inspection" was completely inaccurate. The fluids were all listed as checked and good. The brake rotors were listed as replaced by Carvana. I am specifically avoiding the term "lie" here because libel is a thing - so I will just say that the report given for the car did not, in any meaningful way, reflect the condition of the car as delivered, which is a statement I can back up with photographs and a written report from an expert. Lastly, the vehicle had significant rust issues. One might have anticipated this issue, given that the Carfax report indicated the original owner was from PA. However again, the inspection report did not detail the presence, or extent of rust on the underbody and in particular the rear subframe, suspension, and differential. Attempting to remedy the service issues was a non-starter. Carvana's service contract company is adamant that they do not warranty "maintenance" items like fluids and brakes. Literally my only choices were to keep the car, pay out of pocket for service, and deal with the rust on my own timeline, or return the car. Carvana has good customer service. They honored their 7-day return policy and came and collected the car (and returned my down payment) with no complaint. When I contacted them regarding the inaccuracies in their inspection, the pat answer was essentially "Sometimes things get missed, but this is a rare occurrence for us." and reminding me that I could return the vehicle. So I did. All in all, the $125 my mechanic charges for a purchase-inspection was money well spent. I don't fault Carvana for offering cars in less-than-pristine condition, every used car seller in the world does this. I DO fault them for notable and important inaccuracies in their inspection report, and more importantly I think it's a weakness of their business model that they don't offer a remedy when such issues are found. I would have preferred to keep the car, with Carvana covering at least the immediate service items needed. Instead, since I took the only available option, that car is now back in their pool, waiting to be purchased by the next person who may not be as diligent as I was. More

Andrew was true to his word and quick to respond to questions. Also the vehicle handover was smooth. Better directions to the drop off would help. Also would help if agents had better way of estab questions. Also the vehicle handover was smooth. Better directions to the drop off would help.
