My 4 Day Experience with Bert Smith BMW February 13, 2016, after 4 months of looking, I went into Bert Smith’s dealership and purchased a 2013 BMW. My salesman Michael Ford suggested I leave February 13, 2016, after 4 months of looking, I went into Bert Smith’s dealership and purchased a 2013 BMW. My salesman Michael Ford suggested I leave the car for service. (Oil Change, etc…) I was to pick my new car up Tuesday Feb. 16th. 3 hours before picking up my new dream car Michael Ford called me and said they couldn’t sell the BMW to me because of an air bag recall. WHAT??? I OWN THE CAR, I’ve purchased/signed, purchased the insurance, everything! I stated I’ll bring the car to the dealership when the part come in. Nope, can’t sell you the car, we have possession and we’re not turning it over to you. I said “What if I had driven off the lot?” Michael said, “Then it would be yours, but we have it and we can’t turn it over to you”. Mark the sales manager called and was so incredibly rude, it was like night and day from the day I purchased the car to Tuesday. They never said they would look for a new vehicle, never mentioned returning my down payment or contract I signed…to this moment I am obligated/contracted to pay for the BMW. I called BMW North America….same response, no concern what so ever. Bert Smith is an independent owner and they can’t do anything to help me. I am completely shocked with everything that has transpired. I have a feeling they had someone offer them more for the car. Now I have to figure out a way to get my deposit retuned and cancel this signed contract for a car I never took possession of. More

They never stock what I want which really isn't a problem. They really didn't seem interested in locating a car and doing a dealer transfer. They didn't seem interested in placing an order. They just didn't seem interested at all in selling anything that wasn't on the lot. The last time I spoke to a salesman while waiting for service on a VW that another dealership located and sold me and I asked him to notify me when the BMW X1s arrived. I got no notification so I bought an Audi instead. These guys are just not interested in dealing with anyone who isn't buying a car from inventory today. I simply won't shop them anymore for car purchases. There's no point since they put so little effort into it. More

Great Dealership and Great People Mr. Michael Grace, client advisor, was very knowledgeable and professional throughout our buying experience. The wife and I spent a lot of time asking questions and upgrading our first pick of BMW's before deciding to purchase a BMW 535i sedan 3.0L turbo. In our opinion, a great car at an honest price. More
Hands Down the Worst Service Department I Have Ever Been To! This is the first and last time I ever go to this dealership for service or buying a BMW. I do not complain but this is the most mis-managed dealershi This is the first and last time I ever go to this dealership for service or buying a BMW. I do not complain but this is the most mis-managed dealership I have ever been to. They charge $50 for a no deductible warranty contract and even more if they do not fix at least one item as reported. This is a shady way of doing business! I brought in my 650i for 12 items and they did NOT fix one of them and gave excuses of why they could not or could not "replicate" the problem on my $90,000 car. From the top down, I tried to get anyone to be responsible for this shady service and from the manager, to service intake person to the actual service mechanic, they all pointed the finger to the next guy in line for who was responsible for this type of service on my luxury auto. I could not believe that BMW would allow this franchise to keep running and ruining BMWs good name. I know I will think hard and long about buying another BMW after this type of low class service and I see that MANY others feel the same way too. I should have looked for reviews before buying a BMW. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! More
Sorely Disappointed I moved down here in August of 2014 from northern NJ. I always leased my cars and took my cars in for service at Park Avenue BMW. At Park Avenue BMW I moved down here in August of 2014 from northern NJ. I always leased my cars and took my cars in for service at Park Avenue BMW. At Park Avenue BMW I was always treated with respect, and a "the customer is always right" attitude. Perhaps I had been spoiled, but I expected the same out of Bert Smith once I moved down here. When I had my service appointment my client advisor was always "too busy" to give me an update or to come and speak with me, and apparently too busy to send someone else to do so. I dropped my car off for service and said I would run a few errands around the area with my husband and then return. After over three hours I decided to give Bert Smith a call to see if my vehicle was ready, but nobody picked up and I got sent to voicemail. Upon not reaching anyone we decided to stop by. Once my advisor was able to get off of her phone call she came over and said that apparently there was a software update that needed to be done and this typically takes six hours to complete, but should be done in about a half hour. Why no phone call to update me? If this were anywhere else I would have gotten a phone call that something other than the typical oil change needed to be done, and then offered a loaner for the time being. My advisor was rude and essentially told me it was my fault because I decided to drop off the vehicle. On top of it all, when my car was finished, she was nowhere to be found, and I left without signing any of the paperwork. I will never go to Bert Smith again, despite the fact that it is my closest dealership, and I recommend that you steer clear of it as well unless you want to be treated like a second class customer. Bert Smith BMW Service Dept has gone downhill een a customer for over 5 years having purchased 3 bmws and using the service department during that timeframe. Generally, decent service performed in een a customer for over 5 years having purchased 3 bmws and using the service department during that timeframe. Generally, decent service performed in a reasonable timeframe. Considered average. During 2015 and my latest visit - had the misfortune of meeting the Service Manager - Don Corey. Mr. Corey was rude, overly aggressive, a bully and attempted to intimate me. Mr. Corey's attitude and demeanor permeated other service personnel during the process. I was over billed for their error in installing a battery and not fully resetting all systems at the time of installation. Considering Mr. Corey's overall demeanor, I question whether all of the services charged for were actually performed. I did not receive sufficient value for the money spent. Overall, the dealership management should be aware of the significant decline in their BMW service department and should take immediate steps to fix it. Having found reviews of this dealer in other forums with similar unfavorable comments towards the service department and Mr. Corey, I hope the dealership ownership takes note and acts accordingly. After a salesman "Hesitated" when I inquired, he went into a cubicle ,and whispered apparently to the "Customer Relations "woman who seemed to have been rudely interrupted. I asked about the auto ,that I was looking at on xx,s Website, and filled out a quote form, and she had no idea....I then went out in the yard, and found two vehicles, that I,d like a price with my vehicle as a trade. Later on my E Mail she gave a take it or leave it attitude. A few days later I offered more $$$ that I thought(thru research) was fair. Bam she shut me down, and slammed the door, so to speak. I gave a 1star,but believe me if I could have made a Fractional star I would have.... More
