Poor Customer Service decided to rescind my initial poor review of Bert Smith BMW and gave them another shot today, but to my disappointment they fell flat again. After experiencing tremendous service at Reeves BMW and Mercedes Benz of Tampa, it is truly sad to experience such poor customer service at Bert Smith BMW. I did not purchase my BMW or Mercedes at either of the aforementioned dealerships and took my car to each location dozens of times to get it washed and was never told "we are too busy" to wash it. I can guarantee that those other dealerships are just as busy (if not more) than Bert Smith and they never turned me away. They simply set my expectations how long it would take (never more than 45 minutes) and I would wait it out or come back. The guy who came outside to tell me that they are "too busy" had an attitude and seemed annoyed by my request to get a simple car wash two days in a row. I guarantee that if I was a middle aged guy driving the exact same car that I have, I would not have been dealt with in such a poorly mannered way. This guy needs a lesson in customer service and how to treat customers - no matter their age. It's pretty obvious why Bert Smith BMW has worse reviews than any other BMW dealership within a 50 mile radius. It's also now apparent why no 3rd part BMW shop or body shop around this area will recommend going to Bert Smith vs. Reeves. Thanks for the poor service and don't worry I will not bring my car back for a service, a free car wash, or look at your dealership when I get back my next BMW. More

The dealership conveys a sense of collegiality and the sales staff are keenly interested in matching customers to the right vehicle. Michael Grace is our sales agent and he is drop drawer. A consummate professional. He knows his product and he is very patient with his customers. No pressure at all, ever. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Grace to someone looking to acquire a new BMW. After the sale, the service staff is also top drawer. Eric Behrens is the service representative to work with. They will do ANYTHING to sell you a car ...but PLEASE don't expect any kind of warranty service or support once you roll out the door! I bought my new car from them about 18 months ago and it has sat on their floor for about 4-6 weeks all told. EVERY time I bring it in for a warranty issue they do everything they can do deny your claim. The last time they told me the "part was cracked" up on the inside of the rear quarter panel and told me it was because "I must have been in an accident" they don't know about. Then no matter what the intermittent defect is, they will always tell you that they "could not duplicate the problem" so they won't fix it. MAC came close to summing it up when he wrote "This is the worst dealership I've used in 15 years. The incompetence at every level is incredible. Bad advice, bad service, and terrible customer service. Everyone has the same attitude." I've driven everything from Ford to Porsche, VW to Toyota in all major cities from coast to coast over the last 40 years and I have NEVER had as bad as service on a new car as I have here at Bert Smith. And you want to know the saddest part? His VW dealership across the way is JUST AS BAD. My wife left there in tears when she took her car in the other day to discuss a fuel pump issue on her TDI. In tears...I'm not kidding. But at least they told her off with a smile on their face. More
