Earlier this year, I had to replace the front windshield on my 2018 Honda Accord after a freeway incident. To avoid the high cost of going through the dealer (approx. $2,000), I opted for a reputable local installer who did the work using an aftermarket windshield. The work was done well, but I was advised the front camera might need recalibration. Months later, I received an error that disabled safety features like Brake Assist, so I brought the car to Diamond Honda on June 21, 2025, for a camera recalibration.
Despite being unable to complete the recalibration, they still charged me the full $582. They claimed the windshield installer incorrectly placed the camera brackets, though this was not conclusively proven. Regardless, I don’t think it’s fair to charge full price for a service that wasn't successfully performed. The windshield installer (who was surprised Honda charged me at all) then had the recalibration professionally redone elsewhere for $350—which fully fixed the issue within a few hours.
I returned to Diamond Honda on June 27 to request a refund. I waited 30 minutes (after being told it would be just 5) before meeting with their Service Director, Oscar Ramirez. Unfortunately, he came across as defensive and dismissive. Rather than showing understanding, he implied I should’ve expected problems because I didn’t have the work done by Honda. Ultimately, he agreed to a partial refund of $350, but only after making me wait another two weeks to prove the issue didn’t return—and requiring another scan of my vehicle.
I came back on July 11 with no error codes present. However, the experience was even worse this time. I waited nearly an hour before even being acknowledged, and nearly three hours total just to get the promised refund. I never even spoke with Oscar—he walked by me multiple times without any acknowledgment. The lack of communication and courtesy was glaring.
While I understand service departments can be busy, the lack of empathy, accountability, and professionalism I experienced from Diamond Honda has made it clear that I won’t be returning. I’m sharing this so others can make a fully informed decision before choosing to do business here.
