Respectfully, I found the finance manager segment of closing my purchase to be extremely unpleasant. I was already pre-approved for financing and expected to enter office, sign papers, and go. Instead, closing my purchase to be extremely unpleasant. I was already pre-approved for financing and expected to enter office, sign papers, and go. Instead, Mark engaged in a fast-talking, clearly choreographed pitch to sell me an extended warranty. Each time I said “no” he came back with another so-called ‘can’t beat offer’ — and he kept at it until I said “I just want to close the deal and go.” It was exhausting by design. And it was the kind of behavior that feeds negative perceptions of car dealerships. Every aspect of my purchase was satisfying except my time in Mark’s office. More
