We are sorry to hear that you experienced an issue with your vehicle and understand your frustration regarding the repairs that were needed. We take claims of this nature very seriously and would like the opportunity to better understand the situation. Based on the information provided, we understand that after our recent engine oil and filter service, you had repairs performed elsewhere totaling approximately $2,000, and that the repair facility indicated the oil filter housing was damaged. To properly review your concerns, could you please provide a copy of the repair invoice, technician notes, and any photographs or documentation from the repairing facility? These documents will help us understand the diagnosis, the repairs that were performed, and the basis for their conclusion that the oil filter housing was damaged. While we are committed to conducting a fair and thorough review, it is important to note that an engine oil and filter change service typically does not involve disassembly or replacement of the oil filter housing itself. In many cases, oil leaks originating from the oil filter housing are related to gasket deterioration, material fatigue, or other component issues that can develop independently of a routine oil and filter service. However, we would like to review all available information before drawing any conclusions. Once we receive the repair documentation, we will carefully evaluate the details and determine whether any further investigation is necessary. Unfortunately, after leaving BMW and arriving home a large puddle of oil was found under the car. When BMW finally called back, they advised us to have the car towed to them. By that time our trusted mechanic of 27 years looked at the car and made us aware of the damaged oil filter housing gasket which was over tightened during the last oil change. Bmw caused 2k of damage over complete carelessness and will not take accountability because we did not wait long enough for them to respond to our concern.
