Buying the car itself was ok, Brayan made that part - pauljs
Buying the car itself was ok, Brayan made that part smooth. Everything since I drove off the lot has been a completely different experience.
Two weeks after I signed, I got a call saying they'd miscalculated the sales tax and I'd need to sign a new contract at a higher monthly payment. When I pushed back, they told me in writing they'd mail me a check to cover the difference. That check never showed up.
Then the registration became a mess. I followed up on the status four separate times over about two weeks and kept getting different excuses, first a "15 day grace period" that doesn't actually exist, then it was the DMV's fault. My temp tags expired and I couldn't legally drive my own car for 5 days. Nothing actually moved until I mentioned I'd be reaching out to Hyundai corporate. On top of that, my paperwork was for a plate transfer, but they sent me brand new plates instead, so now I have to go do the transfer myself even though it's something I already paid them to handle.
Don't expect anyone to follow up or actually communicate with you after you drive off the lot. Be prepared to fight for basic things afterward.
