Dealership Tries to Charge Overhead Fees to Customer I must say, my experience at the dealership (Toyota of Waldorf MD) was like a rollercoaster ride (up & down). On May 26, 2014, the Sales Consultant an I must say, my experience at the dealership (Toyota of Waldorf MD) was like a rollercoaster ride (up & down). On May 26, 2014, the Sales Consultant and Sales Manager (Andrew & Will) provided excellent customer service. I was looking for a 2014 Toyota Prius, they searched and found the car. He called me several times with status updates until it was on their lot. My experience with the Financial Service Manager (Josh) was a different story. I told him, I wanted to pay by credit card and transfer my tags from another car. Once I reviewed the sales invoice, I noticed he tried to charge me unnecessary fees (temporary tags, lien fee and a tire recycling fee). When I questioned these charges, he deducted two of the three (temporary tags and lien fee) . On May 30, I went to pick up and pay for the car. The dealership refused to let me charge the total purchase price on my credit card. I told the Financial Service Manager, the credit card company said I COULD USE my credit card to purchase a car. He gave me several reasons why I could NOT pay by credit card in which two of the reasons were false (he stated, Maryland law does not allow a buyer to charge the total purchase price for a car & the credit card company only let a buyer charge $3,000). When I asked to see this in writing he left the office, came back and told me it was the dealership's policy. He said the credit card company charges the dealership a fee and if I wanted the car, I must split the difference. This would add $400 to my purchase price. I was shocked and disappointed and asked why the dealership would try to pass off their administrative/overhead fee to a customer. I refused to pay the $400, they removed my tags from the new car and said good night. I left the dealership stressed, with a headache and in tears. I had a restless night. The Sales Consultant called me the following day (May 31) to apologize and said the dealership will ALLOW ME TO PAY BY CREDIT CARD. I returned to pick up the car but was so uncomfortable and wanted to hurry to get the transaction completed. I left without purchasing the extended warranty. I would like the dealership to give me the extended warranty free of charge for my inconvenience. More

Awesome.... By FAR the BEST!!! This salesman was ABSOLUTLEY amazing in so many ways when it comes to the customer service compliance of satisfaction. He did excatly EVERYTHING that he said he was doing hours before we ever meet in person. He told me the entire process would be less than an hour and just like I said EVERYTHING he said was true. My paperwork was ready. We test drove the car, and I what's signing papers in the finance office just minutes later. My last experiance buying a car was ABSOLUTLEY horrible and after driving the used, but "NEW" (to me) car days I got a phone call to bring it back be AUSE they couldn't get me financed. My credit has had a few issues due to a divorce that I have been dealing with for over 4 year I was honest with Mark from the start of our first conversation and he did the exact in return to me..... Calling me to tell me he had me approved but approved for a Chevy Malibu only (I immeditly said "NO" that just was not what I was looking for I needed a smaller SUV type vehicle) Right off he apologized and honestly said I don't think there's much I can do for you "NO" run around at all... We talked a few more minutes and told him a few details I may have been able to come up with a little bit (not much) more than just the only $500 I put down but I would need time to get it... His response well would you be interested in "maybe" (strong key word in this deal" TOYOTA RAV4, (as we were on the phone I was googling what type of SUV a RAV4 was and researching the facts on it and I LOVED IT. He honestly said "it's ONLY a possibility" (and I knew a very slight one) give me a few to see what I can work out. Within about an hour we we're texting one another about my where abouts and how long would it take me to get there so I could drive home in "M" "NEW" SUV.... I must off asked him a million times "is this a definate, are they going to call me in a few days and make me bring it back"! I will admit I was extremely hesitant abd would NOT even consider coming to the dealership unless it was in writing and a done deal.... Once he got me there I WAS SHOCKED "Mark" was the first car salesman I had ever meet in my life that told the truth... Word for word!!! He struggled to get me approved he worked with me on time for my down payment and gave me the best customer service RESPECT I could EVER ask for. He answered all my questions (even the ones I repeated over and over) By the way "Sorry Mark".... I was scared to death to have my chain pulled yet once again by a Car Salesman.... But I must admit..... Mark changed my opinion on the "car selling-cars sales man" situation and gave me an entire New outlook on the whole situation. I would refer him to "anybody" that I know when it comes to someone looking to buy a new car!!! It was a EXCELLANT EXPERIANCE and a few years down the road when I'm ready for another change this is right where I will go.... And the entire way there I will be crossing my fingers that Mark will still be there to give me yet another experience that I will pass along again with nothing but POSITIVE things to say!!!!! Thank again Mark and Thanks to EVERYONE at Toyota of WALDORF! You guys were WONDERFUL!!! I will be sending people your way for many years to come!!!? Now a word to the finance manager...."DJ Deihl" I just want to take a minute to say Thank You in more ways than one. You made me feel like "signing my life away" wasn't nearly as bad as I had EVER remembered it being. :)!!! Thank you for giving me the detail explanation to ANY and ALL questions and concerns that I may have had. I had been "burned" in this stage of a auto dealership loan process more than once. Knowing my situation from my divorce and the death of my son and now my upcoming new marriage you were able to help me with the down payment time frame and keep my payments down to right where I requested them to be. I truly still can't believe the process was as aSY as it was. You wee a AWESOME at this stage in my process to drive away in a little SUV that I am now just truly In love with!!! Thank you for working with me and most of all just being patient with me and understanding my situation and working around and through it to make this happen. You are also another reason I will be coming to this dealership for many more years to come and sending many others your way to experience that same wonderful opportunity to work with such a AWESOME team working environment "To help actually MAKE THINGS HAPPEN FIR THOSE WHO AT TIMES THINK THERE IS NO HOPE KEFT AT ALL"!!!! I WOULDNT be close to as HAPPY as I am with "My" NewTOYOTA RAV4!!! I love it. It is beautiful and it was a pleasure getting to meet you and directly work with you. I know my case wasn't the easiest (by far) to make happen.... And without you there's NO way it would of ever happened. You gave me a chance, l can't ever Thank you ENOUGH! You dealership is "TOTALLY AWESOME"! You 3 guys were SO Great I will never be able to let you know in words in any type of review to show anyone at all how simply pleasurable it was to but a car from this dealership and work directly hands on with the 3 of you! You 3 will be in my Christnas Card list for many years to come and PLEASE don't be surprised when you have MULTIPLE new customers coming from not only Maryland but Virginia also asking to work with just the 3 of you and you hear they were Reffered by "Nikki" the blond on the BEAUTIFUL BLACK RAV4 from Va. I told him yes and would be right down. when we met up everything went smoothly and were out of there in about 1 hours with a brand new sienna for my wife on her anniversary. More
