After selecting an intense search of my second car I narrow my search down to two cars. Same model, same miles, same brand, same everything, but in two different dealers. I just by random choice selecte narrow my search down to two cars. Same model, same miles, same brand, same everything, but in two different dealers. I just by random choice selected going to Union Volkswagen first to basically just test drive the car since I was ready to buy the car at that moment, even at the MSRP. I was not even planning to battle for the price since it was a standard price and I wanted to go, get the car and drive it back in a quick move. I was in communication with Greg Ward in multiple times and everything was settle. At 9:00 am the guys told me, the car is on hold for you to tes it and for you to get it. Even when it was a great move to express how interested I was in the car, it was evident that I was going to get the car. Since my wife had the other car and I had a free day at work I decided to go by public transportation, needless to say it took me 3 hours to go from upstate NY to Union NJ. I got to the dealership and I was there but the car was not there any more. A guy told me that the car was not there. Greg did not even appear to told me in person. I left extremely upset and in my three hours back in public transportation Greg called me to ask me why I have not arrived! I communicated my frustration and make sure he understood how upset and disappointed I was with the lack of professionalism. He told me that he will find out what happen. Needless to say that he never called me again. Unfortunately the experience in a dealer is probably based in your first and only experience and I can tell you I will never recommend this dealership to anybody. More
I had been to this VW dealership a few times inquiring about two different vehicles. Stalin Torres was the sales man I interacted with every time I went there and he remembered me every time. The first t about two different vehicles. Stalin Torres was the sales man I interacted with every time I went there and he remembered me every time. The first time was about 2-3 months ago and I just had some questions. He was very friendly and answered my questions and did not pressure me all while I told him I wasn't looking to purchase but was just checking out a few models. Three months later i went back to VM and Stalin remembered me again. This time i was more serious about purchasing a GTI. There were several other car companies I was considering but I went here because of the service I received. Stalin set up a test drive and we sat down to discuss my options, model and pricing. The type of GTI i wanted was not on the lot and the team went out of their way to find me the one i wanted at a good price. What I appreciated about Stalin Torres was is passion for the brand and knowledge Of the product. He's new to the business but made this experience a great one by making me, the customer feel valued and appreciated. For a new guy he has the tools to be a very successful salesman at VW. I hope that you all appreciate him for this.. More
I rate their service department 5 stars. Quick service, talented people, informative, and dedicated to making the service experience a good one. True customer orientation. Vinny in service and Mark in par talented people, informative, and dedicated to making the service experience a good one. True customer orientation. Vinny in service and Mark in parts in particular. And the Jetta TDI I bought is great. I've already gotten up to 48 mpg. Sales gets 1 star. I don't recommend anyone buy a car from these folks. If you do, let the buyer beware. Read everything they put in front of you in detail to be sure it is what was agreed to with the sales person you worked with. These folks are there to get your money and it's up to you to question EVERY item they put on the contract because they won't point them out. Documentation fee 349; over 500 for paint protection you can buy yourself for about 70 dollars; about 379 for etched glass that turns out to be dataDOTS but sold to me using a glass etching limited warranty and that you should be able to do for yourself for well less than 100; if you agree with and shake hands with the salesman on a price for your trade in, be sure that's the value they put on the contract and not something else; you'll be told you can get an extended service contract for only about 5 more a month on your payments and find out they added 3 months of payments to the end of your expected loan period to cover the bulk of the extended warranty; and over 600 dollars for tire and wheel road hazard coverage. Unless you question it on the contract and specifically say no, you will wind up paying for this stuff. Bring it up afterwards to the sales manager and you'll just be told you signed the contract, you bought it. Let the buyer beware, it's all up to you to protect your wallet with these folks. More

I recently leased a 2013 Passat S from Mike Nunes. I did all the negotiating online which was a pleasure and received the best price from Union as compared to other VW dealers. I will say that Mike was ver all the negotiating online which was a pleasure and received the best price from Union as compared to other VW dealers. I will say that Mike was very helpful and gave a good overall buying experience. However, quality is my major issue. I've had 3 service issues in less than a month. When I drove the unit off the lot on my way home, I heard a tapping noise coming from the dash. I immediately called the dealership and left several messages before I received a return call. Mike was helpful the following day and set up a service appointment for me. On the way to the appointment, the tire pressure light came on. I pulled over and checked all the tires and everything was fine. The service department found a piece of new delivery paper sucked up in the blower motor causing the tapping noise. Also, there was no issue with the tires as I suspected and the computer system need to be reslashed in the vehicle. Now, I have another issue. The rear passenger floor mat is soaking wet. I suspect that the a/c drain line is under there and has an issue. My wife and infant son are on the way to the dealer now. These issues are a huge inconvenience for me and my family and not something I would expect with a new vehicle. Although they may be small to some, they are big to us as this is our only means of transportation. So once again, I did not have a problem with my salesman, but have a huge issue with the quality. I don't think the PDI team did a good job prepping this car. I was also told they just got it in and it was on the showroom floor. I just have a feeling about owning a Volkswagen after this. I'm very glad I leased instead of purchased so at least the 3 issues I had (and any other that I feel will come) are covered under warranty. More
I entered the dealership with a set budget that I could spend for a 2013 Jetta. Rey and his managers worked very hard and got me the exact model that I wanted down to the exterior and interior color at the spend for a 2013 Jetta. Rey and his managers worked very hard and got me the exact model that I wanted down to the exterior and interior color at the price I needed it and i would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new volkswagon. Great customer service and extremely friendly salespeople give this dealership 5 stars in my opinion. More
Came in to buy a new 2013 Passat TDI SEL Premium. The dealer honored the online deal offered through TrueCar, which made the process very easy and hassle free. No other dealer was able to beat the deal, dealer honored the online deal offered through TrueCar, which made the process very easy and hassle free. No other dealer was able to beat the deal, especially on the color combination I wanted. The only downside is that they charge a high (for my standards) dealer documentation fee but then again every dealer does this in New Jersey. Their low price makes up for that easily. More
We had a very nice reception once arriving at the dealer and the sales man Larry seemed very interested in putting us in a new car which is great since that is the reason we went there in the first place. T and the sales man Larry seemed very interested in putting us in a new car which is great since that is the reason we went there in the first place. The problem however began when we sat down to look into the financing there were a lot of questions that Larry couldn't answer which is ok since he found us the answer. But what wasn't appreciated was that the price of the vehicle changed at least 5 or 6 times only increasing in value. Also the car was registered in the wrong name and when Larry fixed the registration he misspelled the last name and told us to leave with the wrong plates on the car and no insurance since Larry forgot to call the insurance company. Not only that but also when we arrived home we realized that they had failed to return the insurance card for our other car and we had to go back to the dealer to retrieve it at which time the finance manager realized that we had the wrong plates and no insurance. Also we had to go to the dealer 4 times in 4 days to tie up loose ends left by the staff. I also did not appreciate the rude manner in which Rick spoke to me when I asked him questions regarding the finance. It was my belief that employees were there to answer any questions that customers may have. I guess that's not exactly how the staff at union vw work but that's ok. More
I requested a 2012 Tiguan S lease price over the phone. Was given what appeared to be a great deal of $285 per month no money down, just first month payment. I confirmed that the only money I needed to bring with me was the $285 not a dime more. Was ensured that was it and they were working on finding me one in my preferred color, blue. (They did have a red one on hand, my second color choice, at call time). They didn't call me back that night. I called the next morning (9:15) and found out no blue's to be found anywhere. I said I'll take the red one which happened to be sold the night before. I then inquired for my 3rd and 4th color choices, Black and Dark Gray. Was then told the only ones available now were the LE series and that the lease per month would be over $400. I now feel that this was a "bait and switch" deal from the beginning and that they quoted me a dishonest price over the phone just to get me in the door. That's no way to treat customers More
I was looking to trade my 2009 Tiguan for a 2012 model in Pepper Gray but my local dealer gave me the run around and told me they could not find that year/model in that color anywhere in the northeast and ke Pepper Gray but my local dealer gave me the run around and told me they could not find that year/model in that color anywhere in the northeast and kept trying to convince me why & how should settle for the SEL in black or a lesser SE model in the Pepper Gray. I did my own search and found the only one around on Union's lot. I called and was given immediate very courteous attention by Cheryl who answered all of my questions and returned every call promptly. She even e-mailed me a copy of the window sticker and had sales manager run preliminary numbers to see if it was worth the trip down. She then took a refundable credit card deposit over the phone to hold the vehicle until i could i drive down from NY to talk to them. Not your average, ordinary VW dealership, I thought I was walking into a Mecedes/BMW/Audi dealership. Very clean, salesmen dressed in suits/ties, very professional, extremely courteous, and open to reasonable negotiation. As an educated shopper/customer, it is nice to hear the simple word "yes" or "we can do that" rather than a pressurized sales pitch or a cadre of excuses as to why you can't have what you want or why you should settle for something else. Made the 2-hour drive south from NY totally worth it. I would surely do business with Union in the future. I am 100% satisfied with my new Pepper Gray 2012 VW Tiguan SEL (with a killer 300 watt Dynaudio system to boot). Thanks Cheryl, Franklin, John, David, Gino! More
