Dave Walter VW has been my choice for all automotive needs for my last three vehicles purchased. When I am in for service or to purchase, they treat me as if I am family! The service department is unm needs for my last three vehicles purchased. When I am in for service or to purchase, they treat me as if I am family! The service department is unmatched in my opinion. They even go out of the way to pick up my car at my place of work and bring it back when I am pressed for time. The sales team were very honest and up front with me about my vehicle and the options that I have. They made me the best deal that I could find in the Akron/Canton area for the last couple of vehicles that I purchased. As I am writing this, I can speak with a fresh thought as I just dropped my car off for service this morning. I had three employees call me by my first name in the first 5 minutes at the dealership. That is service and going the extra mile for a customer. What a great place to do business when most places make you feel like you are going to the dentist! Dave Walter VW has my full recommendation. purchasing my first new car at Dave Walters VW was more than an a pleasureful experience. from the moment i applied online for financing, i received and immediate response from the gentleman who work there than an a pleasureful experience. from the moment i applied online for financing, i received and immediate response from the gentleman who work there. with in 24 hours Mitch Ury was in contact finding more specifics of my qualifications, and what i was looking to get. from the first step in the dealership i was welcomed with hot coffee and paper work that was pre-prepped for my first new car. they put me in a 2011 Jetta SE (which is just awesome!!!!)i was physically in my new car and out of the dealership in less than 30 min. i am heading up next weekend for my first scheduled maintenance, and am actually excited to be serviced by the Dave Walters family. i could have bought from anybody. i live in Columbus OH which is 130 miles from the dealer itself. i did my research and am very satisfied with my choice of dealers and would strongly recommend this dealer to everyone! Kirstin went out of her way to search for the type of vehicle I was looking for, with the options I required. She then went out of her way to be sure I understood how to use the dash board. I recently met with Kirstin to purchase a used car for my daughter. She was extremely helpful and went out of her way to try to locate the perfect car for us. purchased a pre owned VW Jetta recently. After tred separated on tire I took it to my tire store where they discovered car was sold without the lug key lock needed in order to change tire. After 2 days separated on tire I took it to my tire store where they discovered car was sold without the lug key lock needed in order to change tire. After 2 days of calling service they said they needed OK from Joe dyer before they could order it and would call back. Meanwhile the car is a safety hazzard and tire is going flat. I had to call back and was treated rudely by female in service who yelled at me that I had to bring car in to check which lock.(car was original Dave Walters and always had been serviced there. I refuse to drive an unsafe car and she said to drive slow but if the tire blew or an accident happened I was responsible for any thing since the car was mine. They sold a car without a vitale SAFETY part- no way to change tire They refused to let me make a mold or photograph lugs and said they would be stuck if wrong part ordered. I'm STUCK with a car that can't be driven Would never go back and will tell all about service. Filed complaint with VW USA will see what happens More
I traveled from Lebanon pa (530 miles) to buy a 2004 R32. Waldo and I made the deal over the phone and they held true to the deal. While we did the paperwork, Waldo detailed the car,cleaning everything we found dirty.Waldo being the greatest salesman I ever delt with, I would recommend you ask for Waldo when you contact this dealer. 2009 Jetta - Had the driver's side rear passenger door rubber seal come loose. My fiancee at first called the dealership and was told by a female that the repair was "interior" and would not be covered. I rubber seal come loose. I came with my fiancee to Dave Walter only to have no problem having the faulty gasket ordered and covered by VW warantee. When we had car serviced today, both men working the service desk were so busy that they didn't seem like that could make time for us. Upon picking up the vehicle, we waited a good 10 minutes for dealership to bring vehicle up front and then the service desk staff member rushed back inside without even showing us the repair or talking to us about it. Meanwhile, the paperwork clerk was on the phone and gestured to us with hand signals as she apparently could not also give us time. Finally, my fiancee gets in her car after I look at it and she stops the vehicle only to find several CHIPS in the door around the seam. Furious, we went back inside, where were once again met by once service desk member who was doing paperwork and kept putting us off. Then, Jeff, the service manager comes out to inspect the vehicle, after we explain the newly discovered chips, and treated us so unkindly and unprofessionally - basically said there was "no way" that those chips were caused by the repair of the seal. He offered to get it "buffed across the street" but said, "I'm not fixing your car." We certainly appreciate that there is no way to document whether or not those chips were caused by the repair of the door seal but we don't recall seeing them. The more salient issue, however, is the ignorant and disrepectful interaction by 3 different members of Dave Walter. My fiancee, trying to maintain her composure, said that every interaction with Dave Walter has been terrible in contrast to my lowly Kia, which has been fantastic. (I used to own a Passat V6, had NOTHING but problems and it was the worst car I ever had - thankfully though, I had it serviced through Clarke VW, which were fantastic to deal with. Sadly, though, Clarke VW went out of business.) Bottom line - if you live in Akron metro, you're stuck with Dave Walter VW because the next VW dealer is at least an hour to hour and half away. But, trust me, I've never experienced such a group of indelicate, arrogant, and non-helpful individuals EVER in the car sales/repair industry. More
I have delt with this dealership on several occasions and have never been treated with respect. The service manager goes out of her way to be contrary and unpleasant. When I requested to speak with the manager I was finally directed to Dave Walter and he basically told me to stuff it because his service manager had been with him "for 3 years and she wasn't going anywhere." I wasn't demanding her job - just asking for a civil interaction. Obviously, these concepts are far beyond their capability. Buyer BEWARE and especially if you expect service on maintenance to be low stress NOT!!! More
I received the worst service from the Service Manager herself that I have ever gotten anywhere in my life, quite simply. I had a legitimate concern about a charge that I was told would not be charged, which indeed was then charged anyway, and was treated as though I was the most ridiculous thing she's ever had to deal with because I had the audacity to question her on something. She told me there were many things she just 'doesn't have to tell me' in regard to my concern that I wasn't properly informed up front about certain charges. Then, upon very rudely and roundly telling me that the transaction would now be 'cash only,' she hung up the phone on me. Cash only? Because I questioned a charge? Since this is not only unprofessional but illegal (as she wasn't going to release my car until I showed up, cash in hand)I called back again to talk to the General Manager about such practices and was instead transferred to a salesman who pretended to be the manager. At this point I was really not sure if I was dealing with professionals or troubled high school kids. This is very clearly not the kind of people you would EVER want to deal with if you have a choice in the matter. Please save yourself much aggravation and stress and go elsewhere! More
I've been going to the dealer for about 3 years now after an exhausting experience at another dealer. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences. Not only being treated with courtesy and respect, they have always taken the best care of my Passat. Julie is alway a pleasure and now Lydia too. I will always own a Volkswagen, as long as the two of them are taking care of my vehicle. And my next Volkswagen purchase is coming soon, so I'll be in! More
