Had a service light on my care and am still under warranty. The dealership claimed I cracked the oil pan and needed a new sensor and said that kind of damage is not under warranty but I could file an warranty. The dealership claimed I cracked the oil pan and needed a new sensor and said that kind of damage is not under warranty but I could file an insurance claim. They then charged me 168.00 to print the quote and leave with no work done. I showed the video they gave me to another mechanic and he stated that nothing was cracked and all was normal. It was just a service light that needed to be reset. I was in the dealership for over 4 hours and when asking to talk to a manager was told it would be 20 minutes because she was busy. She came to talk to me after 55 minutes of waiting and told me it's my fault and if I wanted the keys I would have to pay the fee. They completely scammed me and took my money by making up a situation. Don't just look at my words, look at the other reviews on all different sites. They are doing it to more than one person. Here is the video to see that no damage or repair was needed. And as for the tires referenced in the video, every new car has cupping because of fewer oil changes/tire rotations per year now. Beware of service here. It is not done ethically and you will get swindled even with a warranty on your car. Video link from Volkswagen of Arkon: https://app.truvideo.com/v/PYfWGiSm More
We had work done on our 2018 Alltrack, the sunroof tubes with kinked during the manufacturing process. We understand that this is not uncommon. We waited a very long time for the parts, not the dealer iss with kinked during the manufacturing process. We understand that this is not uncommon. We waited a very long time for the parts, not the dealer issue at all. The parts came in and the dealer replaced all of the parts including the new drain tubes, carpeting and headliner. The work looked great, done in a very professional manor. A few weeks following the completion of the work, the sunroof started leaking again so we brought it back to the dealer. They diagnosed the problem as the tubes were blocked again and that it was now our fault because we did not perform the proper maintenance to ensure that the drainage tubes did not leak. I asked what the scheduled maintenance time was and they indicated 20,000 miles. The car had approximately 400 miles on it since everything had been replaced. Maybe my math is wrong but 400 miles is a lot less than 20,000 miles. We took the car home and replicated the test that the dealer performed to determine that the drainage tubes were clogged and confirmed what they found. I inspected the 1-way valves at the end of the tubes and got covered in grease and grime as it gushed out of the tube. The tubes were filling with water and flowing into the sunroof because the system was not properly flushed when fixed in my opinion but what do I know I'm just a worthless customer. I have reached out to the dealership, to the owner of the dealership and no reply, just crickets. I have filed a complaint with VW USA (that's what they told me to do if I had a problem). Pretty sad because this dealership did some really good repair work for us prior to this incident. A case has been opened, will see what happens but I'm not holding my breath. They owner of this dealership is the Jay Auto Group. As I noted, they have not reached out to me either. More
I purchased replacement wiper blades online form this dealer through "VW Parts Mart.com". The blades I received did not in any way fit my car, despite my providing a detailed description and VIN for the dealer through "VW Parts Mart.com". The blades I received did not in any way fit my car, despite my providing a detailed description and VIN for the vehicle. It cost me $47+ for the wiper blades and $22+ for return shipping. Why should an abject mistake cost like this the customer? A full refund was promised, but the return shipping was not refunded. These guys do not know what they are doing and do not deal fairly with customers. Avoid doing business with "VW Parts Mart.com". More
VW of Akron is highly recommended my wife and me; this is truly a five star dealership. You definitely need to visit them when looking for a vehicle. The whole car exploration and buying process is stress f truly a five star dealership. You definitely need to visit them when looking for a vehicle. The whole car exploration and buying process is stress free and so different from what we’ve had been accustomed to. I am definitely keeping VW of Akron high on my list for future buys. Each of the staff we met are honest, open, friendly, patient, professional and knowledgeable. We met primarily with Ammar, who sincerely listened to our situation and then provided us with a VW ID.4 to drive freely and unaccompanied around Akron. (BTW, we found the ID.4 is very comfortable inside, rides well, is well built and performs well). Upon our return to the dealership, after hearing our thoughts, Ammar spent several hours providing details and answering questions regarding the ID.4 to ensure we were comfortable with proceeding. After telling him we would like to proceed, he worked hard with his manager, Matt, to find the car with options which we wanted (VW Corp had just that day shutdown factory ordering of The ID.4). When our ID.4 arrived, there was some confusion regarding our choice of equipment options (‘what we thought we were getting vs what was there). The manager, Matt voluntarily stepped in and said he would take care of the problem without our incurring any cost. In talking with him, ‘found him to be a good, reputable guy and apparent good leader (rather than just a manager). So, ‘on to paying and paper signing (usually this part the really raises my ire). We met with AJ who told us about various payment methods in addition to what my wife and I had earlier explained and wanted. AJ came up with a good plan to save us money over what we had originally considered doing. After that AJ presented us with the usual dealer provided/applied optional amenities (I thought, here we go - you know, the often high pressure arguments - ‘the ”You really need this” items’ - (to be clear, at other places, not VW Akron); ‘these are such items as additional sound deadening, lifetime muffler bearing grease jobs and/ or insurance protection against flying saucer attack – maybe I exaggerate just a bit but you know what I mean). However, AJ started off indicating what they offer was just for our consideration – no pressure. Well, first note that, his offers were for reasonable items (‘no T-Rex repellent). But then, I really didn’t want any of the offers and there was neither badgering nor debating as I declined them. Much Kudos to AJ. On the day of pickup, Ammar, in typical character, brought our car out and first spent a good bit of time looking it over and checking it out to make sure all was right. He then sat with my wife in the car (it’s her primary vehicle) for a good while to make sure she understood all the controls and functions. I also want to say that I met with several others of the people in parts and service; all exhibited the same honesty, friendliness and professionalism as Ammar, AJ and Matt. Bottom line - you would be hard pressed to find a better dealership or buying experience; do yourself a favor & stop in when you’re looking for a car. Rick More

Needless to say I won’t be back to vw Akron for service or sales because of this issue with my vehicle. More
