Salesperson Aaron Heinlein was truly remarkable throughout the entire sales process. I have been keeping in touch with Aaron periodically ever since buying our first VW from him in 2004. From that first sales experience, Aaron quickly caught on to our preferences and has been sending updates on the product line from time to time over the past several years. Aaron's knowledge and passion for VW vehicles is amazing. He was responsive, understood and predicted what options I would like and was truly a joy to work with. I have never had a better buying experience from any other dealership or from any other salesperson and I expect to buy many cars in the future from Aaron and the Dave Walter VW team. I look forward to stopping in to the dealership for service appointments to catch up with Aaron and share my experiences with the car (2011 VW Golf TDI) More

BUYER BEWARE!!! I had the WORST experience at this dealership. At first they were extremely nice and I warn you, do not be fooled. They set me up for a 72 month loan through VW credit when that WASN' dealership. At first they were extremely nice and I warn you, do not be fooled. They set me up for a 72 month loan through VW credit when that WASN'T even an option for me! Three weeks later after I signed for the vehicle and drove it off the lot, I got a call saying VW credit could only do 60 months making my payments jump $60 a month! It them took almost two weeks to get the financing straight. During that time period, my temporary plates expired. I happened to be out of the state and was left WITHOUT a car to drive for 5 days!!! I asked to be compensated for not having a car and they blew me off! Joe the Sales manager acted as he could care less and Bruce, who was extremely nice when I was signined the paperwork, became extremely arrogant. At one point Bruce stated that they (the dealership) had lost $83 in the deal and they would be better off just to take my car back!!! What kind of dealership says anything like that!!! Lindsay was the only nice person who understood my situation, yet in her position she couldn't do anything for me. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this dealership to anyone! They are RUDE and ARROGANT and just out to make a sale. In the end the wouldn't even take blame for the fiasco and blamed it on everyone except for themselves! STAY AWAY from Dave Walter and go to another VW dealership. More
I live in Chicago and found the used car I was looking for online, at Dave Walter VW. My boyfriend's family lives nearby so his dad went and checked out the car. After we got the pricing worked out, Mitch allowed the car to be driven to me after I made a deposit, with no commitment necessary until I saw it in person. I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy the process was. Great experience overall. My only minor complaint is the car wasn't cleaned/detailed, but that's most likely due to the short time frame in which I needed the car. I would highly recommend Mitch at Dave Walter VW for your next car purchase. More
Customer Service is horrible at this location. I would not recommend taking your car to get serviced at this location. The Female Service Manager is very disrespectful toward her Customers. They are a money hungry facility and out for only one thing to get your money. Making up BS car related issues for an easy buck. I will never go back there for anything. More
This was the most pleasant car buying experience I've ever had. The salesman was honest and very helpful. The dealership was bright, clean and cheerful. My wife and I set out to buy our first VW, we had stopped into a couple dealerships to look at Jettas so we had an idea of what we wanted but weren’t sure who to buy from. I did an online search and submitted a quote request through Volkswagen and within a couple hours I received a reply back from Aaron Heinlein of Dave Walters VW. It was a Sunday and we exchanged several emails that day which I thought was nice since other dealers waited a few day to send out the standard “form” email. After emailing back and forth over the course of a couple weeks (we weren’t in any hurry) my wife and I were on our way to sign papers for our new Jetta. Overall while the process went very well there were a few minor xxxx-ups but none that were a huge issue. My wife was in love with her new car but 2 ½ weeks after picking it up the car its engine service light came on. Jeff Tolar in the service department saw to it that the issue was resolved the same afternoon. The very next morning the light returned so back to the dealer we went and this time they decided to keep the car for troubleshooting and loaned my wife another new Jetta which was equipped exactly like her car, another nice touch. To make a long story short, our Jetta was in the shop for just under 4 weeks having issues that Jettas don’t typically have. I was in communication with Mike Dyer, the General Manager at Dave Walters VW, and it was decided that it would be best to replace my wife’s new car with another new car. I was happy that Mike had taken steps to get the process rolling and as I worked with both Mike and Volkswagen Customer Care it was apparent that they were truly concerned with what was going on. We did indeed receive a new replacement car and the process was completely painless. The day we went back to pick up the replacement Jetta, Mike met us at the door and introduced himself to us and shortly thereafter we were sitting down with Bruce Siglow who had all our financial paperwork in order ready to sign. A point to mention is that they also paid attention to my concerns about a few minor xxxx ups that occurred when we bought the original car and this second transaction was flawless. It was unfortunate that this issue with our original car came about but it turned out to be a very good thing in the end because anybody can sell you a car and anyone buying the new car is happy, otherwise they wouldn’t buy it. But the true test of a dealership’s dedication to its customers happens in a situation like this where things can go very wrong. In our case they went very well and Mike and his staff have earned my trust and I look forward to buying another car from them in the future. More
If you are in the market for a new VW, make sure you talk to Aaron at Dave Walter VW. He is very honest and tells you information that you would not find anywhere else. My car was back in the shop 2 days after taking delivery for body damage that occurred at the factory, that the dealership missed..Funny!! Anyhow I don't know about their service department so I will reserve my comments for that later! If you are interested in a VW do make sure you talk to Aaron. He is the only one I would deal with at that dealership!! More

I had been looking for either a GLI or a TDI for over a year. I actually overheard Aaron talking about a GLI at a cell phone store and asked him about it. He gave me his card and told me to stop in. They didn't have exactly what I was looking for but he told me about the TDI Cup Edition that would be coming out soon and when it was available for order I got the first one. He was extremely helpful and honest. I had lots of questions since I ordered a car that there was next to no info on. He made me feel very comfortable and confident about my purchase and still emails me to check up on me and the car. When I take the car in for service or had any questions everyone is extremely helpful and nice. This was my first new car and experience with a dealership. When my brother's car finally dies (an audi) I will make sure he goes here to get his dream GTI. More
