Horrible I want to share my experience and disappointment with the dealer ship this week end and I hope I can get some help to rectify these is I want to share my experience and disappointment with the dealer ship this week end and I hope I can get some help to rectify these issue. I contacted your on line sales hostess Friday evening and they were polite and expedient. This conversation lasted maybe 20 minutes part of it was waiting for her to check inventory for available vehicles. One was your Kia Soul 2013 stock # GM8830 and the second Vehicle a mini Cooper Stock # GM877A both which I was told after 9pm on Friday evening 12/18/2015 were available, an appt was set for the next business day. I called at 9:11 on 12/19/2015 where a young woman by the name of Erin #330-761-3971 again confirmed both vehicles were on your lots available for purchase. I asked that she was absolutely sure, because I have been to 6-7 dealers over a period over the last 4 days and while in route the car I was going to test was just sold!! Then, a Gentleman got on the phone who was her manager and touted a 15 minute speech on your dedication and commitment to customer service. He assured me I have a VIP appointment and visit and your sales team was awaiting me to view and test these vehicles. Of course I asked to be called prior to the appt. if these vehicles were no longer available. Of Couse no one called so I set out for my appointment. The next part is very discouraging and frustrating is this an industry standard to get a customer to the lot, to find the vehicle your seeking is no longer available? so the sales team can get you to buy alternate inventory since you’re already there? Probably, after 6 out of seven I’m pretty sure so of course your sales department became #8 of my quest to seek a vehicle, I arrived at your dealership on West Market around 11:15 am. So from 9:11 am to about 11:15 am one of the vehicles I wanted to view and possibly purchase was gone. HMMM! I thought right hand not talking to the left hand not good but I will continue to view a car which was the KIA 2013 and the test drive was available after 30 minutes of searching for it on the lot. VIP yeah right! I am so discouraged and upset by this point I should have left but your sales person Matt Boskowitch assured me this situation was not the usual way you do business and apologized I test drove the 2013 KIA, It was clean and met the expectation of what I anticipated in buying a pre owed vehicle. It is now 12:07pm I’ve been at the dealer now for almost an hour and we haven’t even began to procure the sale, so I am pretty pissed and not buying the fact you got the other vehicle out the door before I got there! Really! Just confirms my bait and switch theory. Now this is where it gets even better, I decide okay I am going to get the Soul, what other decisions do I have the other vehicle is gone. I am now over an hour into the whole experience pissed because I can’t see the other vehicle and at this point I want to walk. Which, I wish I did! Matt comes back and says he has never seen this but the sales manager is going to knock some money of the Kia which he has never seen at your dealer ship and I am going to get out the door with the deal of the century, yeah right. All along keep in mind this is going to be a cash sale and I know this isn’t the ideal situation because you’re in bed with the creditors and things on paper with interest are in your favor, and that’s why the customer can get more in the land of make believe money. So now it takes another 2 hours to get this deal out the door! Really for a cash sale? So now at 1:18 I am being sent to the finance dept. at the Buick Garage? Anyhow 50 pieces of paper and a check, the whole time your team declares they’re getting the vehicle ready whatever it was used? and it was fine when I drove it, what more can you have to do? At 1:37 the vehicle is still nowhere in sight and I have completed my transaction, keep in mind the one I never got to see was gone in 15 minutes. Right? The sales man Matt now has to still go fill up the gas tank and the other person I am with also pays money to get the car filled. xxx! I now have possession of the vehicle it’s 2:08 I drive away happy, relieved and glad for my purchase and before I get off Market street the Tire pressure light comes on? So of course we went from 60 degrees to 20 degrees I figure cold pressure on the tires has changed not alarming buy the time I get home I am totally in crisis!! The back left tire has a Big nail in the middle of the back drivers side of the car?? Again could anything get worse. So I call and your service team which has went home at 1 and all I have to deal with is Matt and it is now 2:43pm we are now approaching the 4hr mark in the sale. Matt says he’ll call me back and give me the 411 on what to do. I also called NTB in my neighborhood because I can’t safely drive on a tire that is compromised. Waited for Matt to call back, I didn’t want to service the vehicle post purchase and interfere with the company’s what they will do policy.. Matt calls back and it is advise if I feel safer get the tire patched and we’ll deal with this Monday. 25 dollars no problem I can deal with that till Monday no problem. Well yes it is a problem!! Both rear tires have a hole in the same place? Weird the left front tire has a screw drilled into the tread. What’s the odds ? And the front right has a slow leak but has been over inflated!! This is serious!! The safety and integrity of the car is at risk without good tires? I am bringing the Car back on Monday I am, putting a hold on my cash payment and I hope we can reach an amicable solution then. All I wanted was a new car.. a new used car and I thought I was happy with this but this is not good. Totally disappointed and not settling!! More
New brakes at 12,517 miles? On September 4, 2015 I took my 2011 KIA Soul! in for an oil change and recall work. I was then approached by Chris and told that I needed new rotors On September 4, 2015 I took my 2011 KIA Soul! in for an oil change and recall work. I was then approached by Chris and told that I needed new rotors and brakes on the rear end due to grooves in the rotors......the same grooves viberation that I had be asking about since 6 months after I bought the car. Each time I brought this to the service department I was told it was "normal wear" and that it would even out as I drove it. The grooves and viberation as I pressed the breaks continued to get worse as time went on only to be told that this is "normal wear" So on 9/4/15 Chris tells me I need $600+ in brake work, when I told him about the number of times I had been in to the question the grooves and viberation when I used the brakes, he told me " the car is 5 years old and only has 12,517 miles on it, so the reason I have brake issues is because I never drive the car and the rotors got rusty and that caused the grooves and viberation". When I asked why this had not happened to the front brakes and he says "because the front breaks carry more weight and did not rust". It made no sense to me so I declined to have VanDever do the work. I took it to another repair service which showed me that both rear brake rortos are warpped and that is why the grooves and viberation were present since 6 months after I bought the car. By the way since the repairs have been made there are no groves or viberation. I attempted to take the rotors back to show Chris, but he is never "available" Oh yes the day I picked up the car in November 2010 it was paid for in full. $20,000+ in a chashers check! More
HORRIBLE! I will say this over and over and over to anyone looking to buy a vehicle. Do NOT go to VanDevere Kia. We did deal with one nice person in finance. As I will say this over and over and over to anyone looking to buy a vehicle. Do NOT go to VanDevere Kia. We did deal with one nice person in finance. As for the salesman we dealt with..... HORRIBLE. He went from being the nicest person ever to the most horrible person ever. We were looking at a 2013 Kia Sorento. Told we were only approved for a 2016 optima or sportage by the lender. We declined those and were ready to leave and then all of the sudden the lender approved the 2013 Sorento. Weird, but okay. We expressed the $ amount we were not willing to go over several times to the salesman and he assured us that he would get it where we were asking. After a few hours at the dealer he told us we could take it home for the night to be sure we liked it. So we did. Returned with it after my husband got off of work the next day ready to talk payments.... first offer was a little over $600 per month! What?! Needless to say we declined. Salesman got very angry and became a completely different person and even sarcastically said "well I sure hope you enjoyed having it for the night" and then told us that we were "very unrealistic " in what we were looking to spend each month on a car payment and that no matter where we go the interest rate would not get any lower (still unclear what their actual lowest came back as. One person said 16% and one said 18%.) And then to top it all off, they managed to run my credit 16 times as a hard check. Talked to TransUnion and the dealership successfully dropped my credit score 10 points (this being after I was assured they would only run it through their best 2-3 lenders). Spoke with a couple people after this and have been told I would hear from the GM.... that has yet to happen. Joke is on them. I will be signing papers at Great Lakes Honda tomorrow. With a payment that vandevere said would never happen and a percentage rate they could never get. It's okay, I'll drive it on over for you all to see. Maybe the salesman I dealt with at your dealership should learn from my new salesman More
When we first bought the car everything was fine but now When I first bought my car Kevin and Patrick did an excellent job with assisting me it has been the servicing of my car I have been disappointed with. When I first bought my car Kevin and Patrick did an excellent job with assisting me it has been the servicing of my car I have been disappointed with. I have been extremely disappointed with the aftermath of purchasing my car from here. For one no told me that when it came maintenance I only had to do what was in the owners manual to maintain my warranty until just recently. I have spent hundreds of dollars that I could have saved. Also I own a 2013 Kia Rio I should not have already had to replace bulbs in my right and left headlight. I owned a 2004 ford Taurus for four years and Ive only had to replace bulbs in my headlights once and that car had over 150000 miles on it plus I was in the last year of having my car. Also I have fuses blown in my car already and my car has 30000 miles on it. I feel these issues should be covered by the warranty because these little issues are starting to add up. More
Good customer service! Even though they could not find the car that best fit my needs they at least were very kind. They took great time for me and made me feel like family! My wife was still at work, so on the test drive he suggested we surprise her and pick her up. She was estatic! I've been buying cars every 4 years for 30 years now. Not only was this the best experience we have ever had buying a car, but Adam made us laugh, kept us entertained and took the time make us feel like we were his friend first. We cannot thank the VanDevere team and especially Adam for making everything so wonderful! You have earned a customer for life! More

Don't stand behind their work! I had a part replaced on my car here 6 months ago. When I took my car somewhere else for new tires I was informed this same part was bad. After talkin I had a part replaced on my car here 6 months ago. When I took my car somewhere else for new tires I was informed this same part was bad. After talking to Mike in service he told me that the part had a 1 year/ 12000 mile warranty. However, two different shops have told me that they have never heard of mileage specifications on the warranty of front end parts. They told me there is a year warranty on front end parts but the mileage doesn't matter. After telling this to vandevere they still won't stand behind their work and want to charge me $85 for a diagnostic fee when I already know what's wrong. Buyers beware, this place may seem nice, but they don't stand behind the work they do. More

We were surprised when we arrived to pickup our vehicle and they informed us that we would be billed for work we never authorized. The best part of the experience was the fact we discussed the warranty work to be done prior to making the appointment and were assured that everything was covered. We purchased 5 vehicles with this dealer for personal & business purposes this calendar year totaling almost $135k. I just cannot believe they are willing to lose us over this kind of blatant bad business practice. Customers by law are required to receive an estimate an approve work performed prior to work being performed. We are extremely dissatisfied with this dealer and they definitely will not receive any more of my personal business. You bet I will dissuade any future purchases for my business as well. More
