In Jan 2015 I was in the market for a new ride but was dragging my feet at the prospect of doing all the price comparison ...at car-shopping, that is. In Jan 2015 I was in the market for a new ride but was dragging my feet at the prospect of doing all the price comparisons. I went onto Edmunds/KBB and saw an ad for a gently used Camry. LOGAN SUMMERS was super helpful in my initial interaction w/ Toyota Sunnyvale (he was detailed and patient in answering my questions when we chatted via the dealership's instant mssg feature--really appreciated his help even though it was just spec work so that's what compelled me to come in), and my salesman onsite was JORGE CABRERA. He seemed like a really decent guy (friendly but not oil-slick) so that put us at ease. His sales manager (?) VU NGUYEN closed the deal. I was not the best haggler, lilting my requests, but Vu and Jorge acquiesced. It was almost too easy...! I went home, happy as a clam, but then slowly but surely Buyer's Remorse set in along with unsolicited feedback ("why was it so easy??"). I continued to get bids from other dealers, and one made me another offer too good to refuse. I pinged Vu/Jorge upon the 3rd day (the wishywashy buyer clause) to see if they would sweeten the deal to keep my business, but alas, karmic retribution for greed was swift and merciless. The other party retracted their deal so I ended up keeping this car. Besides my utter embarrassment, I still came out pretty well with a great deal on my (almost) new car. So sorry for that snafu and this =belated rating guys--do shoutouts via all-capping your names help a bit? We had such luck running into each other (can't speak for you, but mine was the good kind). TL;DR: do your homework!! but if not, at least bring in the summary sheets from Edmunds/KBB and you'll get a fair price from Toyota Sunnyvale. More
