I took my LS 430 in for the 115K mile service. While there 2 broken struts were discovered requiring the replacement of all 4 at an estimated cost of $6600. Mike Rice was great to work with. He explai there 2 broken struts were discovered requiring the replacement of all 4 at an estimated cost of $6600. Mike Rice was great to work with. He explained the situation very clearly as to what the problem was, why all 4 had to be replaced, why the parts were so expensive, et al. He promptly ordered the parts and kept me informed. During the repair an air line connection was damaged which was covered by service policy without me ever questioning it. This caused the repair to take longer as parts had to be obtained, but I was kept informed and had a 2013 Lexus loaner, so I wasn't inconvenienced at all. Although this repair was VERY expensive, I was totally pleased with how I was treated. There is no doubt in my mind that the repair needed to be done as the car now handles and rides significantly better. In an unrelated incident the next day after picking the car, I had to jump the car to get it started. In so doing I noticed I lost the navigation system, HVAC, radio and Bluetooth. I checked the owners manual for the location of the fuse box as I was hoping this was the problem. When I saw there was not a single box, but several, I felt I needed help and called Mike Rice. It was Thursday around 5 pm. He said they were open 'til 8 and I could bring it right in then, Friday or Saturday...whichever worked best for me. I took it right in. He greeted me and got right on it. I guess I was there 45 minutes or so. They found and replaced several blown fuses in 3 different fuse boxes. Mike explained one of the blown fuses controlled the air compressor that supplied air to the struts that had just been replaced the previous day. He said they test drove the car to make sure the suspension system was working properly. I'm quite certain that had I tried to find and replace all these fuses, I would have gotten very frustrated and likely wold not have ever discovered the air compressor fuse issue. When Mike came back and said the car was ready to go, I asked him what I owed. He handed me a zero balance invoice and said I owed nothing. This was done as a Courtney to show Tom Wood Lexus appreciates my business. WOW!! More
Wow! I got the worst salesman I have ever delt with! I have never had a salesman not try to sell me a car. He actually wanted me to leave. When asking to look at my current Lexus a 2004 w/ 86k on it. He s have never had a salesman not try to sell me a car. He actually wanted me to leave. When asking to look at my current Lexus a 2004 w/ 86k on it. He said it had high miles (10.7k a year) and offered me 10k less than than KBB trade-in value. I wonder if Lexus knows how terrible this dealership is. I am married to a car guy who normally does the car deals for the family but when I told him I was going to buy a Hybrid he elected not to tag along. When I told him about my experience he was livid. He called the dealership 2x a couldnt even get an answer to voice a complaint. He said were done with Lexus! Its unfortunate because after driving Mercedes, BMW, Jags, Land Rover and Porsche the Lexus is the most reliable... I guess thats so your dont have to deal with the horrible dealer! More
We are continually amazed to see how much this dealership (Tom Wood Lexus) charges for labor and parts. When compared to other Lexus dealerships in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, they are without question the (Tom Wood Lexus) charges for labor and parts. When compared to other Lexus dealerships in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, they are without question the most expensive! One illustration is our recent inquiry for replacing a battery for my wife's 2007 Lexus ES350. She was quoted $250! I called 7 other Lexus dealerships within a two hour drive of Indianapolis in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky to compare their costs to the quote we received from Tom Wood. They ranged from $168-$197. When I complained to Tom Wood's Service Mgr, he didn't initially offer to reduce the price (not surprisingly at all) until I told him that I had contacted other Lexus Dealerships to get quotes. When I gave him the quotes I had received, he was only mildly concerned that his quote was 22% higher than the next highest quote of $197! We decided to get the battery replaced somewhere else locally in Indianapolis. We had it changed at a local Toyota dealership (non Tom Wood owned) near by Tom Wood Lexus. The total cost was only $119 for the same battery, same warranty, same service, and we SAVED over 52%! Tom Wood may be the only Lexus Dealership in Indianapolis, but it certainly isn't the only place to go to get service and save a lot of money. More
Their service department advised my wife the last two times she had her RX350 in for an oil change and tire rotation that the vehicle needed new front brake pads, cost approx $450. We decided to have th times she had her RX350 in for an oil change and tire rotation that the vehicle needed new front brake pads, cost approx $450. We decided to have the vehicle serviced at a Toyota dealership because in many cases they are the same parts, just less expensive. Their cost estimate approx $300. After waiting in the service area for a half hour, the technician came in and told my wife the front brake pads still had about 20,000 miles worth of wear on them, they do not need to be replaced. The dealership may be OK for purchasing a car, but their service is over-priced, and as we discovered, dishonest. More
Shannan made sure that every issue including things I did not consider were addressed during my service visit. She is truly a professional who takes pride in her work. Her level of knowledge of my vehicles a not consider were addressed during my service visit. She is truly a professional who takes pride in her work. Her level of knowledge of my vehicles and her gentle way of explaining matters to me takes away all the nervousness about car maintenance and repairs. Tom Wood, and more specifically Shannan was the reason my wife and I bought our second Lexus because we knew Shannan would take care of all our needs and be honest with us. We are previously mercedes and acura owners, and we will remain Lexus owners as long as Shannan is our source to rely upon for information. My 2004 GX looks new, and more importantly drives new because she has overseen this vehicle for the most part since we purchased it at Tom Wood brand new. More
Helmet was great to work with. Made the transition from my Jaguar to the Lexus ES350 smooth and very enjoyable. I have already recommended to several others. my Jaguar to the Lexus ES350 smooth and very enjoyable. I have already recommended to several others. More
Tom Wood Lexus would be the last place I buy a car from or take a car for service. They over charge for repair beyond what is recommended. BEWARE! They will replace parts incorrectly, and not fix them - claiming the customer responsible for the incorrect work, or better yet accusing the customer of wrecking the vehicle. DRIVE OUT OF STATE i them - claiming the customer responsible for the incorrect work, or better yet accusing the customer of wrecking the vehicle. DRIVE OUT OF STATE if you have to, but don't take your car to this spineless dealership! Management there won't even acknowledge your concerns - even if everything is properly documented. More
