Looking for son's car My son and I were out to Suburban Infinity of Novi. Sales person Mr. Succurro helped to show us what we went to look. However, my son didn't like the vehicle and Mr. Succurro was very helpful to find what my son is looking for. He found the vehicle at different Suburban dealership. He made arranged to bring the vehicle same day when we told him to go look. People who works there are very friendly and professional. We are very pleased with our purchase there. After we purchase the vehicle, Mr. Succuro is contact me to wish my birthday and we still talk occasionally. I love the fact Mr. Succuro still keep in touch with us and check if everything is okay with vehicle and he is not the sales person who forget about customer after vehicle was sold. More
Entire Car Buying Experienced Turned into Complete Nightmare After a rocky start to the purchase of our vehicle, we thought Suburban Infinity of Novi was ‘making things right’ so we went forward with the transac After a rocky start to the purchase of our vehicle, we thought Suburban Infinity of Novi was ‘making things right’ so we went forward with the transaction, thinking our initial complaints would put any initial issues behind us. However, after we completed the purchase of the vehicle, things have now escalated from starting out with some mid-level inconveniences to being entangled in a complete nightmare. When we took delivery of the vehicle we purchased (on 11/10/2015), it came with a 15-day temporary plate. We were told that by the time the 15 day temp plate expired the dealership will have obtained our permanent plate for the car. By days 11 & 12, when we realized that we had heard nothing from the dealership regarding our permanent plate, and were getting concerned, so that Monday (Day 13) we contacted them asking about the plate. The salesman, Mohamed (Michael) Cheaito, repeatedly told us that he was taking care of it – and we reminded him that our temp plate expired the night before Thanksgiving and that we were growing very concerned about being left over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with a car we could not drive due to it having an expired temporary license plate with state offices like the licensing department being closed for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Despite all of our concerns, he repeatedly assured us that this would be resolved before our plates expired. Late in the day on Day 15 (the day the plates expired, also the day before Thanksgiving) Michael told us that he would come to our home between 5:30 – 6:00pm with the new plate. Michael came to our door around 5:45pm and said “I don’t want to interrupt your evening, I just need your keys so I can take care of the plate for you and I’ll bring the keys right back to you” we were in the middle of feeding our toddler dinner, and make the mistake of trusting him to do this. We gave him the keys and he brought them back to us a few minutes later, wished us a Happy Thanksgiving and he left. After dinner, I was leaving to run errands. At this time, I noticed that Michael had not affixed our permanent license plate to the car, as he had led us to believe he had done. So, assuming he had re-issued us a new temporary plate to cover us until they got the permanent license plate, I looked to verify this - unfortunately, he had not done that either. Rather, Michael had simply taken a marker and overwrote the expiration date modifying it from 11/25/2015 to 12/25/2015, despite that the phrases ‘valid for only 15 days from date of issue” and “misuse of this document is a Felony” being printed right on the temporary plate. This modification made me very uneasy about driving the car beyond the original expiration date of 11/25/2015. As such, I went back into the house to call the dealership to inquire about the legality of this modified plate with a Manager. However, they seemed to be closed because no one answered their phone. At this point, I had no other way to find out if this modification to the temporary plate made it Legal for me to drive the car after the original expiration date than to take the car, with the modified temp plate, to my local police station and inquire there. I had every expectation that they would run the temp plate code and confirm that the expiration date had been legally extended and that the car was fine to be driven. However, they informed me that not only was this NOT the case, but also, if I were to get pulled over driving the car with the plate’s expiration date modified in the manner it was, that I could potentially be arrested should an officer not believe the story of how it occurred and think that I had been the one who had modified the plate, and they strongly urged me not to drive the car with the modified temporary plate. They also advised me that as of the night that my temporary plate was originally set to expire, that per the State of Michigan, the car still remained registered to its previous owner. Further, due the totality of the situation as they saw it, and with the temp plate clearly marked that it is a Felony to misuse, they requested that I provide them with a written report on what had occurred in order to protect myself legally and to document who had modified the plate and where/how this had all occurred. Over the course of several conversations with the dealership’s General Manager, we were informed that they were unable to untangle this mess and make my car legal for us to drive for the remainder of the holiday weekend. To his credit, the General Manager has provided me with one of the dealerships service cars to drive until they are unable to untangle this legal quandary the salesman (and I am also told by the General Manager, their Title Clerk who supposedly also ‘dropped the ball’) has gotten us into. At this point, my level of frustration is so high, I wish we had never bought the car to start with and I certainly wish that I did not have to keep it as I feel it is going to be a constant reminder of this legal debacle (and nightmare level of customer service) caused by several employees at Suburban Infinity of Novi. It is a disaster which I will always associate to this particular vehicle and I honestly wish I didn’t have to keep it at this point. If they are unable to untangle this mess today like they have told me they would, I feel that I will have no choice but to retain my own Legal Counsel to assist me in forcing them to do so. While I remain doubtful that middle management will allow or facilitate a meeting for me, it is my hope that they will allow me to speak directly with one of the owners of The Suburban Collection. To be clear, I am not looking for a grand executive apology, rather, if I owned a company and something like this occurred, I would: 1) want to know about it; and 2) want to be the person to assure this customer this could never happen again to anyone else by personally explaining to them what new procedures and check points have been instituted into my company’s workflow to prevent this from ever recurring. More
