I bought a Genesis G80 2020 (serviced by Hyundai) and the car is fantastic and the sales rep was great too, however, I wish I could say the same about the service department at Hyundai. It is very difficult to get hold of any one live and when you leave a message you do not get a returned call in a timely manner. Several times the voice box was full so you could not even leave a message. Customer service should not stop with the sales rep and the service department should be at the highest level of customer satisfaction...I cannot give them a good rating. No excuses for lack of customer service- this starts with the owner of Southern States Hyundai...you need to invest in the right amount of resources to support the customers you serve. More
Had previous service work done in March on my vehicle to replace the front passenger strut assembly. I made appointment today 5/24/21 to have the brakes checked and the strut assembly rechecked. They found my brakes needed to be replaced, as I thought they would. The price I ended up paying was less than I was quoted. On Saturday 5 December 2020 my wife and I happened to stop by Southern States Hyundai to look at the 2021 Palisade. She wanted to "just" look at one. We were greeted by Mr. Terry Mclean, Sales Represent stop by Southern States Hyundai to look at the 2021 Palisade. She wanted to "just" look at one. We were greeted by Mr. Terry Mclean, Sales Representative. We told him we were just looking and asked did he have a Palisade on the lot. He escorted to a 2021 Palisade. We took it for as test drive. WOW, what a vehicle. Upon returning to the lot Terry invited us in to discuss. Never had any intention of buying however, Mr. Mclean was so accommodating and worked with us we now are proud owners of a 2021 Hyundai Palisade. Absolutely NO PRESSURE just honest advise and was a pleasure to work with. If you are buying a new car, head down to Southern States and ask for Terry. A true professional and gentleman! First red flag was walking the lot for over 25 mins not being greeted or helped by a salesman. When I walked inside .. still not acknowledged until several minutes later. I was willing to look past it since this was the only dealership in my area with the car I wanted. I Leased a 2020 Hyundai Sonata on 11/10/20. Not realizing until I got home the color of the car upsets my brother who is autistic. This is highly problematic since I care for him part time. I called the finance office to work out a deal on another vehicle. The same trim was not available in a different color so I was forced to lease a different vehicle entirely since they claimed the could not allow me to cancel the sale entirely even tho it had been less than 24 hours, no paperwork had been processed. I went with a 2020 Hyundai Venue. Desperate and Not realizing at the time they don’t hold value well and don’t lease well I was presented the worst deal, higher payment for a cheaper car. My guess why? To try to hold the Sonata deal together,... either way they profited off my situation. I was presented no other options. The very next day to my surprise I reached down to adjust my seat and sliced my finger open on a razor blade left under the seat by whoever inspected and detailed the car so bad I required stitches. Unacceptable and completely incompetent ! Very pissed off ! I Inspected the floor to see the car had not been vacuumed and yet another blade. LAZY. This is probably the my worst car buying experience by far and has guaranteed I will never do business here again and will encourage others to follow suit. I was also told I was unable to cancel the add on lease protection services which is bull.$2400 for a 1 year key fob warranty ? Every thing about this place is bs . I was screwed. Do not go here! On November 6, 2020 I took my car to Southern States Hyundai dealership in Raleigh NC for service. When I arrived, I was greeted by Tiffany Reyes to ask me questions on the reason I was bringing the car Hyundai dealership in Raleigh NC for service. When I arrived, I was greeted by Tiffany Reyes to ask me questions on the reason I was bringing the car in for service. I explained to Tiffany it was making a squeaking noise and I need to get it check out. I did advise Tiffany it could be the Tensioner Belt on the car. Later in the day Tiffany gave me a call and advised the technician stated it could be the tensioner belt and the cost to fix the car would be about $700.00 if that did not fix the problem it could be the alternator which could cost about $900.00. I asked her for a break down in charges she advised the cost of labor for a tensioner belt would be 2.0 hours. I advised Tiffany that other Hyundai dealership labor cost according to the “ALL DATA” labor cost stated 1.2 hours. Tiffany advised she would talk with the technician and give me a call back. Once Tiffany called back she said they could reduce the labor cost to 1.5 and that was the best she could do, and it could not go lower. I asked to speak with the service manager. I was transferred to Matt King the service manager. He immediately came on the phone and was abreast of the issue. Matt King was asked where do Southern States of Hyundai get their labor prices, and do they use the “All Data “for labor cost. Matt King stated it was a fair price that I was quoted. Again, Matt King was ask the question how do Southern States Hyundai get their labor cost. Matt King stated the price will stand it is a fair price. Matt King advised me I could take my car somewhere else to get it fix. After asking the questions to Matt King several times he advised their labor prices comes from “past experiences” and “are not guided labor prices.” Matt King and I were unable to come to a resolution on the Labor cost and settle on a clear labor price. I opt to pick up my vehicle and take it to another dealership. Beware of southern States on 2511 Wake Forest Road Labor charges they are not guide prices. More
My daughter just purchased a new car and wanted to do it all herself. I had to go for the final purchase as I was co-owner of the car that was traded in. I got to meet with her salesman, Joe McKenna. Joe all herself. I had to go for the final purchase as I was co-owner of the car that was traded in. I got to meet with her salesman, Joe McKenna. Joe negotiated a very fair deal (don't think I could have much more off myself) with my daughter and was patient and very pleasant to work with. If I am ever looking to buy a Hyundai in the future, I will ask for Joe. Thanks - Joe for taking good care of my daughter. Joe is a 5 Star employee all the way! More

Quick service. Scheduled appointment was very efficient. Chris was a great help. Repair team fixed the issue personally and quickly even though it was a warranty item. Multiple lifts were impressive.
