Subaru **Sales guy lied so much and evaded every single question relating even remotely to price, that got in the way of understanding car/value. He lied about new models coming, web site pricing informa question relating even remotely to price, that got in the way of understanding car/value. He lied about new models coming, web site pricing information's usage and more. Also this location was not amenable to any meaningful 3 -5 min test drive. We were looking at Subaru models. Some not avl to see and hoops were posed should we be interested in the impreza vs highest trim on other pricier ones. More
I had an appointment at 10 AM to pay for and get my new car. The car was still not detailed at 1 PM. This was unacceptable. I ended up taking the car without any detailing as I couldn't sit around and wait any longer. The whole process of buying my car was much too long especially considering I was not financing the purchase. There was too much waiting time with no one notifying me as to what was taking so long. The car should have been into detailing as soon as I showed up. More
My 2019 Hyundai Sonata needed to be painted and the Body and Collision Repair Department manager Jimmy Farrell went above and beyond to make sure my situation was taken care of. They provided me with a loaner car and always returned my phone calls within the same business day. Thanks to Mr. Farrell, I would consider doing business with Southern States Automotive Group again. His integrity and ability to communicate with customers is definitely what this business has been lacking. More
Service department is terrible and no one from management cares. I hope consumers remember how terrible Southern States is when cars are plentiful again and they need the business. I have tried to discuss the issues I have had for the last two years but I can not get a reply from GM Brian McInerney or any service manager. BEWARE! More
I can't say enough positive about my experience. In looking around, I found that to be anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 above sticker. Southern States was ZERO above sticker. I called and dealt with Terry Mclean in sales. He was very nice, personable and knowledgeable making the whole process very pleasant. When I drove up there, we ran into a snafu which prevented me from leaving with the vehicle that night. It was a banking issue because it was a business purchase...not Terry's fault. Terry knew I was pretty upset about the hang up and said, "Don't worry about it Mike." "I'll have your vehicle driven down and delivered to your office." No fees, no hassles and did exactly what he said he was going to do. Had my Palisade within a couple of days. Hard to find people these days who actually do what they say. If you live within a five hour radius of Raleigh, go ask for Terry Mclean at Southern States Hyundai. I mean unless you have a few extra thousand to just throw away and prefer a less than simple and fantastic experience. Thanks Terry and Southern States Hyundai!!! Absolutely horrible from management down. When buying a car they have zero knowledge. We knew more about the vehicles than the sales woman. She didn’t even do a pre delivery check and didn’t go through the car they have zero knowledge. We knew more about the vehicles than the sales woman. She didn’t even do a pre delivery check and didn’t go through the delivery checklist. Now 6 months later we are trading our vehicle in and we have called and left messages and sent emails and they are ignoring us and won’t help cancel the wheel warranty and gap protection. They are thieves. Avoid them especially kay greer. More
I would give it no stars if I could, except for the Service Tech who actually took the time to speak with me during this ordeal. Without getting into a long story, I brought my Hyundai vehicle into Service Tech who actually took the time to speak with me during this ordeal. Without getting into a long story, I brought my Hyundai vehicle into Southern States Hyundai for warranty work. Called FOUR times before someone actually picked up the phone. Finally reached someone to schedule the appointment. I dropped off the vehicle the previous evening for work the next day. That was the ONLY communication I had with them for two days. I called no less than SEVEN times to find out the status of my vehicle during that time. The phone rings and rings with no one answering. Sometimes it just stops ringing... I left a message with someone at the dealership to ask the service department to call me, and nothing. I was so frustrated, at 5pm on the second day, I came by to take my vehicle back regardless if they got to repair it or not and was initially told "it wasn't ready." Actually, my vehicle was parked in the back when they proceeded to try to "up-sell me" on additional work that was "recommended" supposedly by the service tech. I declined and said I want my vehicle. I learned the warranty work had been done, but they had it on standby to see what other work I would agree to. Finally, the tech drove it up front. When I said I was never contacted by customer service over the past two days, he seemed somewhat surprised. I asked for the Service Manager - Jamie Holcomb to return my call that afternoon. He finally calls the next day. We discussed the issues of no communication from the Service Department. He stated they were "short-staffed" (they had no less than 6 customer service people milling around when I was there waiting for 45 min for my vehicle.) He finally says "I'm sorry you feel that way"... and "click" - hangs up the telephone! There you go - that's the customer service you'll get from Southern States Hyundai. They couldn't care less about their customers. Perhaps if I read these reviews before scheduling warranty work, I would have recognized this pattern. This dealership needs a complete overhaul, starting with employees and management that actually care about customers. More

I bought a new car here in 2017. They offered a lifetime warranty if I got all of my oil changes done here, but I could never get an appointment so I gave up. Now, I know why I could never get an appointme warranty if I got all of my oil changes done here, but I could never get an appointment so I gave up. Now, I know why I could never get an appointment. I paid my car off one year early in May 2021. On 16 July 2021, I was driving to see a client, and the car died. No lights. No warnings prior to this 15 mile trip. Just, noise, lost acceleration, dead. No interior lights, wouldn't start. NOTHING. I was stranded for two hours before my tow truck showed up. I learned that my 4 year old, still under warranty engine was blown. No explanation. I got my last three oil changes to prove that I take care of my car, and two days later I'm still waiting to find out if Hyundai is going to cover it. In the mean time, I'm out of work and in danger of losing my car. IF Hyundai choses to cover the repairs, Southern States Hyundai will NOT be providing a loaner vehicle. I will have to rent a vehicle out of my own pocket and they will LATER reimburse me $30.00/day for my rental. I can not find even the cheapest rental for that low of a price, even with my USAA discount. I can not afford $500/wk car rental while they (MIGHT) fix my car. I would STRONGLY NOT recommend a Hyundai, even if you plan to take good care of it. I don't blame the staff, they are doing their job. The woman who broke the news to me was lovely and polite and caring. I know that it isn't her that is making the decisions. But the dealership not providing a courtesy car while (if) the car is fixed due to faulty mechanics is terrible. I would not recommend this dealership for that reason. When I bought the car, it was a pleasant experience. But that is where the pleasantries ended. More
