Originally started search online for CRV-SE, Billion Auto explained that one wasn't currently available (expected one in about 1 month), but had the 2010 EX available and went into detail with better deal. explained that one wasn't currently available (expected one in about 1 month), but had the 2010 EX available and went into detail with better deal. Isaiah at Randy Kuehl simply wrote "Thanks for your reply, as of right now the only thing we can go by is what Honda has posted on there website. There are no 2011 CRV's out yet. So I can't give you accurate pricing on it yet." He does not have very good written communication or sales skills. I had to email him repeatedly and it was like pulling teeth to get the same information that Billion sent immediately. When I said the price was too high, he asked me what I was willing to pay. I quoted him what I wanted it to be with everything ("taxes," fees, etc). He ranted about how everything has tax (bread, tv, vehicles). Well someone should inform him bread is not taxed, nor are vehicles in the state of Iowa, it is a one time registration fee. I wasn't asking not to pay tax, he knew what the fees would consist of (I didn't because he never answered those questions) so he should have been able to back them out and figure out what it should have been. Ultimately he re-quoted the first price. So you must understand my confusion as to why he even asked for my opinion. I should have gone to Billion, she had a better price and she even offered to drive the car to me. But I was pressured to buy local, and I thought going in there to deal with someone else was going to be the better option. I went in Wednesday after work, walked through their parking lot and into the dealership, proceeded to look closely on every desk out there (for business cards) not one person even acknowledged I was there. Came in the next night and was probably there for 10 minutes before the manager asked me if I needed anything and then passed me off to Tom. I was pretty much agreeable and didn't question the price the Isaiah had quoted so many times anyway. He located the car and kept me informed as to when it came in. We scheduled a delivery date. He sent me an email the day before to remind me to bring the title to my trade-in, I sent a reply email about an hour later indicating that I did not want the car defaced with a decal (it being a locate, I knew their decal would not have been on it). The next morning when I went to pick the vehicle up he claimed he didn't see the email until that morning and that I could have the decal removed when I brought the car in for the interior/exterior protection. When I brought the car in I handed them a note reminding them to take that decal off and told them I would need a shuttle that afternoon/evening. She said that she would have someone call me to schedule the pick-up. No one called. I called 15minutes before I was supposed to get off and they never got the message. He did pick me up 30 minutes after I was off and he was probably the only positive part of the whole experience. I picked up the car and noticed the decal was still there when I got to my son's daycare. I promptly called Aaron who said he handed the note to the "guys" and apologized. He said that he would call me the next day to arrange for them to come to the car to remove it and apply the protectant in that spot. No phone call. So I call him a few minutes after 5 and conveniently he left at 5pm. I was told they were going to contact him and have him call me right back from his cell phone. That was last week and still no call. That night I emailed my sales person, and again one week and no contact. If they would ever get back to me they would also hear about the interior protection where I can see the outline of the section they forgot to do. Now backing up to the finance guy/process. They sell these extended warranties and maintenance plans in packages, not quoting the price of them, but what your payment would be with them. I asked him what the payment would have been without any of the plans and then followed with what the actual price would have been. He mumbled something that sounded like about a thousand. Now I should have stopped him when the total price didn't jive, but I didn't. Upon closer examination it was three different things, not a package, totaling over $2800. I submitted the appropriate written notice to cancel these (as well as requests to get the additional fees back) and he informed me that there were actual papers to sign, you know if I wanted to cancel my peace of mind. I told him when I would be there and to have them ready, and if he was unavailable to give them to someone who could help me immediately. Well I arrived and they had to call him back to his office repeatedly only to have him pull BLANK forms out of his desk, to which he told me to initial and sign and he would fill in the tops later (to this day I have not received the copies, so I am skeptical that he even filed them). One other thing that stood out was that he informed me that I would not longer get a discount on oil changes (they were supposed to be free with the plan) and they would be $50. The day I bought the car Tom told me they only charged $27, so I was a little confused. I do not find car buying an enjoyable experience, this process took an extremely long time and that is time away from my child. And it still isn't over, because my car is still defaced. More
The sales person as well as the sales manager were insulting and arrogant. They were not willing to negotiate a fair deal at all. Sales tactics are very aggressive, they held my keys claiming they had insulting and arrogant. They were not willing to negotiate a fair deal at all. Sales tactics are very aggressive, they held my keys claiming they had "misplaced" them, not allowing me to leave the dealership, until I threatened to start causing a scene in front of the other customers, they "found" my keys in a hurry. I found the same model of car I was looking for with more options, a year newer and half the mileage at another dealership for $4000 less. More
Basically an "okay" experience - what you'd expect and no major complaints. Staff was very friendly and not too pushy but there are the general car salesman tactics to watch out for (qoutes changing, scare major complaints. Looking to replace an aging minivan and had narrowed our choices down to 3 choices with the Odyssey being one of them. Also looking at getting a closeout deal on 2010 model. Our initial stop was right a choices down to 3 choices with the Odyssey being one of them. Also looking at getting a closeout deal on 2010 model. Our initial stop was right around closing time and it was busy. As we were driving off, Chanin stopped us briefly to invite us back. We took him up on it and are glad we did. He is knowledgeable about the vehicle and seemed genuinely interested in earning our business rather than just having it. In the end we got a fair price based upon what I found on Edmunds.com and a couple of other sites. There was some salesmanship in terms of add-ons and pricing, but not more than expected and not pushy in any way - it was always respectfully done. We got the vehicle we wanted. We got treated well and are comfortable that we'll continue to get treated well by the service staff and others. Bottom line is that we felt at home not only with the vehicle and deal that we got, but with the dealer as well. We would highly recommend Chanin as he was great to work with. More
I went to Randy Kuehl Honda with a very specific car in mind that I wanted to purchase that day. Initial contact with Isaiah Townsend over the phone got the ball rolling so that when we arrived at the deal mind that I wanted to purchase that day. Initial contact with Isaiah Townsend over the phone got the ball rolling so that when we arrived at the dealer he had the car pulled up in front and ready for a test drive. Overall my experience with Isaiah was excellent. He went out of his way to get me the price I wanted on the car, and was always friendly and straightforward. My experience with the other staff at Randy Kuehl was not so great though. When I went in to buy the car, signing the paper work took much longer than I expected as it turned out that the appointment sent up by one person, was not honored by another. The finance officer also pushed options despite my apparent annoyance, leaving me feeling as if what I wanted, and thought did not matter to him. Lastly, there were some additionally pieces of the car that needed to be replaced, and so far, almost two weeks after I purchased the car, the dealership/service department seems to be dragging their feet in the ordering of the part. From what I have gathered, there have been communications errors going from one person to another, both inside and outside of the service department. If you go to this dealer, I would strongly recommend dealing with Isaiah Townsend, but would caution against the other staff members. More
Outstanding experience purchasing a new Ridgeline. Ray went above and beyond in his meticulous knowledge and attention to detail in explaining this vehicle and also addressing any questions that I had. Ra went above and beyond in his meticulous knowledge and attention to detail in explaining this vehicle and also addressing any questions that I had. Ray made sure I understood everything and went through a thorough introduction when the vehicle was ready for pickup. I live approximately 50 miles from the dealer. During the process Ray would call with any questions or ideas. When vehicle was ready I drove to dealer and picked up. If you go to Randy Kuehl Honda make sure to ask for Ray. More
Before we stopped in to actually look around, I spoke with Isaiah Townsend and exchanged emails with him. This helped us get some preliminary info ahead of time, and helped us save time the day we got ou with Isaiah Townsend and exchanged emails with him. This helped us get some preliminary info ahead of time, and helped us save time the day we got our new Honda Accord. Isaiah was/is very friendy and helpful. He gave us the info we needed. Even after the sale, I had some questions, and he was glad to answer them, and answerd quickly! Assuming we sitll live in eastern Iowa when we are ready for our next new car, you can bet we will call Isaiah first. More

Isaiah was very cordial in his dealing with us.He was not your typical "pushy" salesman. The dealership as a whole was one that I enjoyed working with; friendly fair and patient. I've been a Toyota driver for over ten years encompassing 6 different vehicles so it was tough for me to come to Honda. Isaiah did a nice job and was friendly and we came to a reasonable deal. He worked ha 6 different vehicles so it was tough for me to come to Honda. Isaiah did a nice job and was friendly and we came to a reasonable deal. He worked hard to find the Ridgeline I wanted and I was appreciative of that. My only complaint was that after the deal was made I didn't get enough communication from him until I called to ask the status. After that, he did a nice job of keeping me informed. I thought the process of picking up the vehicle was a bit drawn out but I wouldn't want to put that on Isaiah and I tend to be a bit impatient and when I think I have a definite time for an appointment I expect that that is the time that things will be done. I am looking forward to working with the people there and hopeful that the experience will be as good as what I have been used to with Toyata. More
