Randy Kuehl Honda responded

Brian, From the history of your visit it looks like the vehicle had a few malfunction indicator lights on. Per Honda diagnostic a technician must diagnose the diagnostic trouble codes stored in the system. Unfortunately the vehicle is not under manufacture warranty and Honda would not participate. Authorization was given to diagnose the trouble codes and the technician ultimately found that the absorbent glass mat 12V battery had failed. It is my understanding that initially the AGM 12V battery installation was declined. In that case the diagnostic fee would be applied. Ultimately the AGM battery was authorized and installed and the malfunction indicator lights cleared. We strive to provide communication, and authorization for work that has little chance of being misinterpreted, and I apologize this did not happen during this visit.
