The ill-mannered gentleman at the desk Aug 9 5pm. I am a young female professional and this is my first brand new car buying experience. My goal is to purchase a brand new car with basic features whic I am a young female professional and this is my first brand new car buying experience. My goal is to purchase a brand new car with basic features which will be fit for my needs. Not being quite familiar with the whole car buying experience, I brought my boss/colleague who knows car/dealers better with me to assist me just in case there are terminologies which will not be clear to me. Everything was smooth and Jonathan my salesperson was humble and patient enough to show me options of my car until the next day. I already knew what I wanted because I did my research online with Hyundai cars especially the prices. I even subscribed to CarGurus and dealers have gone crazy blowing up my phone before I even went to Pride Hyundai Seekonk. I went to this dealership because it's closer to where I live. My goal at that day was to come in and come out with my brand new car in hand. The deal was negotiated and came down to $20,000. I had one request to have them give me the Hyundai all weathered mats at no cost. Bill, the sales manager, together with Jonathan, was at first not sure because Bill said he cannot give us the mats for free because it's $150. I told them then if that's the case I will just find another dealer to whom who could give me $20,000 with my request. Bill then agreed. I work at a local restaurant and in appreciation of agreeing to giving me the all weathered mats, we handed Bill a $150 gift certificates which is equivalent to cash and to which will never expire as a gesture. He accepted it. Bill then said that the shop is now closed (it was already 7:45pm) and so I have to come back the next day to get the mats. So I was fine. Long story short I was happy with my purchase and took my car home. Next day afternoon, I stopped by the dealership because I wanted them to place my old car plates instead of having a dealer plates on my car. Roy assisted me. I then asked him if I could claim my all weathered mats which Bill promised the previous night but the gentleman said I might have to come back for that when Jonathan my salesperson is available which will be around 12noon. I have to go back to work at the university so I told them I will just be back around 5pm. After my day job, I again rushed to the dealership hoping to get my mats and to speak to Jonathan regarding the bluelink and other features of my car. Upon arrival, I asked for my mats to Jonathan and he spoke to his General Manager who was the most ill-mannered gentleman I met in my life. I am in Marketing/Hospitality Industry and I know the basics of Customer Service 101. I forgot his name but I'm sure Pride Hyundai of Seekonk will easily identify him based on their Google Reviews and Car review websites online. As a matter of fact, Bill and that ill-mannered gentleman's identity were mentioned specifically in Pride Hyundai Seekonk's lowest Google reviews. So this is what happened... That ill-mannered gentleman at the desk told me he will have to speak to my boss regarding my mats and it might take up to 3-5 business days for the mats to get delivered to the dealership. I told him why is that when Bill clearly told us last night that the mats are there it's just that the shop is already closed when I took my car home. In short, ill-mannered gentleman was giving me a run around which I was not afraid of telling him straight at that time. He then turned sarcastic to me in a rough and impolite manner "Are you seriously telling me that I'm giving you run around when I wasn't here last night because I was with my child?" Well Mr Ill-mannered gentleman at the desk, let me ask you a question back...are you seriously telling this to me in a rude manner making me felt less than because I am a woman, alone, and looked so young???? If this is how you will talk to your PAYING customer, you deserve the nasty bad reviews you have on Google! So I accepted it and I said to myself fine I will just pay for it. No big deal its $150 who cares. Its just a mat. It is not worth my peace and sanity! So I called Jonathan and just asked him to show me Blue link and the remaining features/demo of my car. He gladly did and he apologized for what I experienced inside. I told him that if he was not nice to me overall, I could have left and informed Hyundai right away about my car buying experience with this dealership! So we were sitting in my car... Bill and ill-mannered gentleman approached my car. Ill-mannered gentleman told me in a rude manner in the roughest manner I have ever heard in my life "Here are your coupons. We dont accept coupons for our mats!" He said these words while handing me back the gift certificates. It was an insult to me, to my job, and to my work. WHAT A FREAKING A**hole! Yes Mr Ill-mannered gentleman I am calling you an a**hole! I then called my boss/colleague and informed him on what happened. He was not happy about it and thankfully he came and helped me deal with the situation. Bill was sitting on the desk when my boss came we asked him why is he giving me a run around regarding the mats and now denying that he even agreed to it. HELLO?? Do you have early on-set dementia to not remember what we agreed to the previous night?? Long story short we had a shouting match outside the dealership and Bill ended up taking responsibility for his words and giving me the mats the next day. Jonathan was kind enough to even offer to drop it off at my job. Dear Hyundai, I am a late 20s professional female who was by herself and surrounded with men at that moment, how would you feel if I was your daughter or your sister or your mother??? Would you allow me to be treated that same way when I came, purchased a car, brought my money, and made a smooth deal with these guys???? Hyundai you should be ashamed of having dealers like Bill and ill-mannered gentleman. Yes I will continuously call him ill-mannered and I am not afraid to post reviews online about his behavior towards me that day. With his age, he should at least learn basics of customer service 101 but I highly doubt he will learn because he seems like he is set in his own ways. Feel free to reach out to me to further clear this if needed. I will not come back to this dealership again and will make my review known to car rater websites. FYI More

I am in my 70's and have bought many cars from various places, this was by far the best negotiating and processing of all. Thanks to Roy and also the mgr. and the finance closer. Roy I am glad to tell anyone of your expertise and pleasant attitude. I am sure your closing rate is high and I can attest to your friendly and helpful attitude. He heard us and steered us in the right direction. Not only did he put us into something that was affordable, he nailed it with matching us to what we wanted/needed. The car is in AMAZING shape for a 2014, it was spotless and we have honestly never been happier with any other vehicle we've ever purchased. I feel like we made a friend with Roy and we could tell he had our best interest at heart during every step. The dealership itself was clean, everyone was friendly and it felt like a family atmosphere. All the staff remembered us when we went back to pick up the car. It was not a stuffy atmosphere at all like you experience at some dealerships. Roy has created lifetime customers with us. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Pride. Roy and his team rock!!! More
