The no negotiate policy initially concerned me but I decided that that the asking price was fair. However, what convinced me not do do more price shopping was Derek. His honest, open, and down to earth approach made the difference. He wasn't push or confrontational about their policy, even when I pushed the issue. He also made sure to address my concerns about the car. Could I have gotten a better deal on a car? Maybe? However, it might have come down to 1,000 bucks - with no dealer fees and good service, the little bit I *might* have saved somewhere else became irrelevant. I'd recommend Portsmouth Kia, particularly if you work with Derek. Professional, knowledgeable, and treats you like a person. Not all sales reps can strike this balance. (If Kia management happens to read these reviews I have a suggestion - you need to promote Derek to a Management/Leadership role. I'm in the HR field and I know talent when I see it. He has what it takes to drive the business because he gets what it means to deliver a customer experience). More

Great buying experience First visit to the dealership, they were so busy, we couldn't get any assistance, so we went back the following day, and was promptly greeted by Derek First visit to the dealership, they were so busy, we couldn't get any assistance, so we went back the following day, and was promptly greeted by Derek Hurley. Derek let us test drive a 2016 Sorento alone, so we were not subjected to any sales pitches or pressure tactics, and could determine our own test drive route, complete with in town and highway driving, and parallel parking. Then, because we wanted to gauge the difference between a 4 and 6 cylinder, we test drove another Sorento. Armed with our true car research, Derek sat us down and gave us a price rated between good and great. To validate price and availability of the model we desired, we visited another Kia dealership. The experience was the exact opposite. After several hours, with an orchestrated test drive with salesman constantly blabbering in back seat, and price haggling with salesperson, and then sales manager, we raced back to Portsmouth Kia and bought our car from Derek. We were undecided about trading our current car, but Derek and the Portsmouth Kia team gave us a decent trade value for the vehicle, making the whole experience even more convenient. Would highly recommend Derek and Portsmouth Kia. More

Go see Derek for your next vehicle!!! I contacted Portsmouth Kia through CarGurus.com. I was contacted promptly about the vehicle and told it was available. I wasn't able to visit until I contacted Portsmouth Kia through CarGurus.com. I was contacted promptly about the vehicle and told it was available. I wasn't able to visit until later that week, but when I called to confirm that the car was still, in fact, available (It was... unlike some previous experience with other dealerships which lied to me to get me to show up). When I first entered the dealership, I wasn't greeted immediately. It didn't really bother me much, as it can often make it feel like you're being pressured. The dealership has a very "laid back" feel to it, in general. After meeting the woman I spoke to (not a salesperson), I met with Derek. He quickly got me set up for a PRIVATE test drive, which isn't something I've typically found. I came back with a question about how the car and he offered to go for a ride to see if it was something to worry about (it wasn't). In the end, I felt like it wasn't the right car for me. However, I appreciated Derek's low pressure sales tactics, honesty throughout the process, and I felt that he truly valued my business. So much so that I returned the following day to test drive a different car... The car I purchased from him!!! I would certainly consider a return visit to see Derek at Portsmouth Kia for my next vehicle!!! More

Kia Rio Service Trip My wife has a Rio, and we bought it from CarMax. Amazing service. I've spent countless hours sitting in lobbies waiting for work done on my cars. Bad time estimates, unexpected issues. You name it. I've come to dread getting anything done. I come here, someone is assigned to me. They take me to the waiting area. Tons of space, coffee, Popcorn. Wifi to use a laptop if you need. They find recall work that needs to be done, which extends the time, and set me up with a loaner. Repairs were done with excellence. Then it was washed for good measure. Top quality service here. Steve was absolutely fantastic. Could not recommend enough. More
