Broken down 300 miles from home.... I own a 2012 Kia Optima Turbo. About 15 miles from Portsmouth our engine lost power. It was 4pm and we were traveling back to our home in NYC from M I own a 2012 Kia Optima Turbo. About 15 miles from Portsmouth our engine lost power. It was 4pm and we were traveling back to our home in NYC from Maine. Not an ideal situation to have a non-working car. Called Kia Portsmouth and was immediately connected to Nick Dargie. He was very calming, asked if we were safe, and reminded me of our Kia Roadside Assistance to get the free tow to them. Had the car towed to the dealer. Kia Roadside assistance (no affiliation with the dealer) was a disappointment in terms speed as we only had a narrow window until the service shop closed at 6pm. We arrived past 6pm and Nick & Steve stuck around to receive the car and see to it that we were taken care of. Without even asking they had a rental car waiting for us (gratis), they also told us that they would have it worked on first thing in the morning. I was obviously frustrated that we had to spend the night, but honestly Nick really made the situation significantly better. He was extremely communicative about the next steps, and even recommended where to stay and eat. With Nick's help with reducing my frustration, we basically treated it like an extra vacation day. In the end the car was assessed first thing in the morning, and fixed by lunchtime. They had the needed parts in stock so there was no delay. At pick up, Nick personally walked us to the car and sent us off. Nice touch! We got on the road and made it home with no problems whatsoever. Essentially one of the worst things that can happen to a car owner (getting stranded far from home when your car breaks down) coupled with THE BEST DEALER EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE.. regardless of brand! Nick, Steve and Kia Portsmouth's Service should be used a the pinnacle benchmark for all other dealer service departments. I wish the dealers in the NYC area could learn from them in some way. More
Purchased secone KIA Soul from Portsmouth KIA I have just purchased my second KIA Soul from Portsmouth KIA in the past two years. My first car (used 2010 Soul) was lost in a motor vehicle crash o I have just purchased my second KIA Soul from Portsmouth KIA in the past two years. My first car (used 2010 Soul) was lost in a motor vehicle crash on Rte. 101 in mid July 2014. I now have a used 2013 KIA Soul that I love as much as I did my first one. I have found the sales and service staff at Portsmouth KIA to be very friendly, helpful, attentive and honest. The quality of the maintenance has been great and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. I look forward to continuing to be a customer there far into the future. More

Bought my "car of the next 10 years" about a year ago. About 30 trips back to service for various issues...foul odors, electrical, faulty bulb sockets...stuff that should not be happening on a c year ago. Dealer got me into the next size vehicle a few days ago. Only reason I took offer was to get out of the lemon I got a year ago....was tired of burning all my time at work to go to the service bays. Same issues starting already....AWD is making foul odors in the cabin at low speed. I'm sure like last time it will be a "We cannot replicate" so I will bring it to a dealer with qualified techs this time around. After 3 months this one finally realized the AWD system in the original car was messed up and finally replaced it. Want to give them credit for "Stepping up" and taking original piece of scrap metal ford product back....but can't because the new one is already having same things go wrong. I am never doing two things for at least 15 years or more: 1) ever considering buying a vehicle from this dealer, new or used, recommending this dealer, or doing business with this dealer outside of the free oil changes 2) ever buying an "american" made car because of the last several I have owned. Blue oval will never be on any future purchase list based on the last 3 I have owned. they obviously have taken 5 steps back compared to the competition, and I'd like to meet the "experts" who hand out awards. More

Do NOT go to the dealership. They broke the drivers side seat of my car during a trade evaluation and refused to fix it. Jim Patterson, the manager and the person who conducted the trade evaluation denies b seat of my car during a trade evaluation and refused to fix it. Jim Patterson, the manager and the person who conducted the trade evaluation denies breaking the chair and refused to have his service dept take a look at the fix. He even admitted to being a 300lb person, and stated that he had to move the chair all the way back to get in. THIS DEALERSHIP HAS ZERO INTEGRITY AND IS VERY DISHONEST. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. PLEASE REFER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU FOR MY FULL REPORT. A COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED AND LEGAL ACTION WILL FOLLOW. More
