I've seen a ton of Hyundai Sonatas in recent months, and thought it was time to stop by the store and check on out for myself. I was immediately greeted by Mike McAdoo, and from that first greeting thi and thought it was time to stop by the store and check on out for myself. I was immediately greeted by Mike McAdoo, and from that first greeting this was a different kind of car sales experience for me. Mike listened to me, took time to find the right car that matched what I wanted - not what he wanted to get off his lot - and made the whole experience as painless and actually fun as he could. Sure, it's still spending money, so it is always a little stressful, but at the end of the night I found that I had enjoyed myself, I got a great car at what I believe was a great price (that I have enjoyed driving even more than I originally thought I could enjoy driving a sedan), and Mike and his managers Carl and Greg all seemed genuinely friendly and responsive. I'm over 50 and have bought way too many cars over the years, but this experience, this car, and this team are at the top of my list foro great car buying experiences. More
Mike McAdoo is the MOST knowledgeable car salesman I have ever come across. I have bought 7 cars over the past 15yrs and he blows everyone away with his personality and knowledge of cars. We originally spoke to Jerry Benson while looking for my new car. He was able to provide the exact make, model and color I requested with the technology package. We drove to the dealership and found the car new car. He was able to provide the exact make, model and color I requested with the technology package. We drove to the dealership and found the car waiting out front ready for our test drive. The car was all but sold. Chris Ballard was able to negotiate a very fair price for the vehicle which completed the deal. I am very happy with the purchase of my new vehicle and would recommend this dealership to anyone. More
I have purchased many cars through Pohanka Nissan/Hyundai in the past and have sent much business their way. In dealing with this establishment within the last couple of months and experiencing the WORST CUS in the past and have sent much business their way. In dealing with this establishment within the last couple of months and experiencing the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever dealt with, it leads me to commit to NEVER do business with them ever again. Two months ago we took our car in for an oil change and their shop worker wrecked it into a brick wall! Oh I forgot to mention this was our brand new 2013 model vehicle we brought in for service and it then had to be sent off for body repair. The management staff acted as though they were willing to help us at first offering to swap out the car for a new one but conveniently they couldn't locate one in the entire United States. They said they would continue their search and they would let us know when they located one. Meanwhile, during the search for a new vehicle, I have now had to send back(for the third time) my "repaired" car to the shop they sent it to for the body work because it was very apparent someone doesn't know what they are doing at Southern Auto Body(also located in Fredericksburg,Va). I spoke with Tim Pohanka(GM) and he gave the normal sales talk they all give and was not willing to do anything for us. We got a few more phone calls stating they were still searching for a new car but once we took ownership of the repaired(yes on the 4th try it looked better) car those phone calls stopped and we have not heard from them since. I understand a dealership is only legally obligated to repair damages, however, one would have to know this is bad business. They weren't even willing to supplement the difference of the diminished value their employee caused us that we can never get back and will just be rolled into a new loan(paid by us). I listen to Tim Pohanka on almost a daily basis on our local radio commercials stating he is a dealer for the people.....that's crap! He is a DEALER FOR HIS POCKET and he does not care about the consumer or any customer that walks through those doors...It is sad when you can't shop locally due to the content of a couple of people's character... This is what I posted on FB: I want to give a shout out to Judaea Horn and the team that helped my daughter effortlessly get a phenomenal car at Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg. We went there early in the to Judaea Horn and the team that helped my daughter effortlessly get a phenomenal car at Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg. We went there early in the week to explore her options as this is her first 'major' purchase and we wanted to be able to relax into knowing the vehicle was a quality car. Judaea listened carefully to what my daughter said and went about creating a wonderful situation. She and the finance team at Pohanka worked behind the scenes to locate a car that fit her budget, was low on miles, gas efficient, trustworthy, dependable and beautifully kept (and cute). Yesterday she drove away in an adorable car with an extended 2 year warranty... first oil change free... state inspection free for the life of the car that she owns it... best of all, the finance team made it work - low % rate, great terms... we couldn't have asked for a better deal! Thank you, Judaea and Pohanka! It was stress free! In addition to that I would add that it felt to me, because this wasn't a 'big ticket item' that they really were invested, not just in meeting my daughter's needs, but in building a firm relationship with our family for ongoing service... building it on stable ground. The behind the scenes work that this dealership did without us knowing was surprising and awesome! More
After hearing Pohanka's radio advertisement for hail damaged vehicles being up to 40% off, my husband and I decided to go to the dealership to purchase a new car. Our sales man greeted us and took us back to the hail damaged cars. We asked which ones were the ones advertised as the 40% off. The salesman said he didn't know. They were all in the computer and only the manager knew which were 40% off. So we chose 2 Elantras to go back inside so our salesman could look up what the prices of them were. We sat for 20 minutes waiting on him to return with the prices. Once he did return, he said the ones we chose were only 10% off. My husband then asked, ok..then which ones are the 40% off. The salesman said, we sold all of those. Really? Because you first told us you didn't know which ones were 40% off when we arrived. My husband said then your ads are very deceiving since none of the cars on your lot are 40% off and you are still running the ads that say they are 40% off. He said, well no, those are all sold. Nothing like being lied to and given the run around. We are looking for a new car. I can tell you we will never buy one from Pohanka Hyundai. More
