CTS owner13, I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience here at Plaza Cadillac. I spoke at length to my Service Manager concerning your situation. I was informed that when you brought your vehicle in was necessary for us to due a diagnostic check before we could figure out if you indeed had a powertrain issue. We then found an issue with an exhaust valve. The reason that you did not receive a loaner car at that time was because we were out of them in our fleet. I did in fact verify that. Once one became available we did get you into one. Once we dove into the exhaust valve issue we determined that engine block damage had been caused. We contacted General Motors engineering and they informed us to replace the whole block. This total engine replacement was covered under your powertrain warranty. We have experimented with the light issue with a couple of our own vehicles and have found that when they are parked under our service drive the automatic system cannot determine whether to brighten the dash lights or not. As soon as the vehicle leaves the canopy the system operates perfectly. We did in fact forget to reset the oil life indicator and I do apologize for that. It should have been done prior to leaving the facility along with rechecking the oil after the initial break in period. I do feel bad that you are not happy with your service here but after looking at all of the data that I have, I don't know what could have been done to make the situation better.
