After seeing the cars (one we were purchasing and our trade in) we both agreed everything was as expelted. With minor issues resolved the deal was completed on this October day. Great, right? Wrong! Mid November I receive a call from my bank whom I financed the car with asking if I've received the title to our new car. I said I had not received a title or the registration which was due in December. The next day I called the dealership and asked what the deal was. They assured me that it would arrive shortly. Two weeks pass and in the mail we recieve a letter from the dmv stating they were suspending our registration on our car which we traded in! It's December now, so I call again and ask what is going on. They tell me that the dmv had made a mistake but that it was rectified and should be all squared away. Great! Right? Wrong! It's now mid January and today I come home to a letter from the dmv again stating that the car in which we traded in was again having it's registration suspended. I also received a ticket from the toll roads with the license of the car I traded in from new years night! So here we are January 20th still without tags on the car we bought which are now expired. Suspended registration and a ticket from the car we traded in and the bank is without the title.. Completely incompetent is what this dealership is and they weren't very friendly to boot. More
Julia Reineman and Jimmy Eklhas - Class Acts I KNOW my cars, the industry, the people, and the like. I used to be in car wholesaling for 8 years and I know what a good experience is and what a poor one is. Some tips for anybody shopping for a car: 1) Do NOT rush it (This will cause you to be remorseful in at least one way) 2) Do your homework on the vehicle you want (Yes, I said homework) 3) Do not settle on colors, options, accessories (Again, remorse) 4) Take your time to find a GOOD salesperson (They are the gateway to your positive experience) 5) Dealer experiences WILL vary from person to person. Some people are naturally giant D-bags and feel like they should have red carpet treatment, everywhere. My first visit to this dealer was mediocre as me and my wife were in the homework stage of what car we wanted to purchase and naturally, salespeople are much less attentive when they know immediate sales are not knocking at their front door. I commute a metric crap ton, like most So Cal residents, and wanted something kind of fun, reasonable on gas, and reliable. My first option was looking at CRZ's and that quickly dissipated as the rear visibility is poor, I still do not believe hybrid systems have been perfected, and the price for this 2 seater is kind of high for what you get. My second option was the new 2015 Fit. That thing is probably the most awesome entry level car on the market and is jam packed to the boot with gadgets/standard features. I opted out of this option because of some of the build quality issues with the new factory in Mexico (Google it). This led me to my choice of the 14' Accord Sport. The car met all of my requirements and it is Honda's volume car so I knew the discounts would be there. My venture started with e-mail inquiries from dealer to dealer and off the bat Norm Reeves was the lowest priced option with Penske Honda being probably #3 in the running. Going back and forth with dealers on what my price would be out the door (OTD), I finally landed at a killer deal at Honda World in Westminster. This dealer has horrendous ratings on Yelp!, DealerRater, and other sites about bait and switch practices, which I wouldn't be surprised with the cultural cereal bowl of sales people. This dealer was slightly further than Penske Honda and Penske said they will honorably match a written offer from another dealer and so we made an appointment with Julia Reinemen for a Saturday afternoon during their 72 hour sale. ***As a reminder, this rating is based off of my experience and not the environment. The dealer is undergoing some extensive remodeling so a lot of the "private" experiences you usually would find when purchasing a car were missing. I mean, I'm there to buy a car not to look at how they opted for nice acoustic ceiling tiles. I'm sure it will be a lot nicer when completed and this may bother some customers, but I'd rather do a good honest deal in a shack than have a drawn out manipulative one in a mansion. We showed up and waited about 5-10 minutes as Julia was BUSY. I mean it was pretty impressive that she handled 4 customers for the duration that we were there and did it in a way that she wasn't inattentive or off-putting. She had the car pulled up and we were off on the test drive to make sure the alignment was good, CVT tranny didn't have any shuddering, or anything else of the sort. One cool thing I found out is that she taught at the University level and transitioned to car sales as a means to take care of her financial obligations. Car sales is a make it or break it business and some people will skim by while others thrive. Julia told me she had only been there a year and she's at the internet level already (color me impressed). I do not have enough good things to say about Julia as she is more informed than most salespeople and she does what she needs to make your deal honest and straight to the point. I would not be surprised if she was running the joint a few years down the line. Now to finance. Easiest low-pressure finance guy I have ever met. Jimmy Eklhas was exceptional. I pre-faced our meeting by telling him a little about my background so he knew if I didn't want something, I didn't want it. We were in and out of his office in probably 15-20 minutes. Normally, the finance guy badgers you if you don't want the aftermarket alarm, extended warranty, service plans, etc, but Jimmy could tell in my tone that I was not interested and he respected that and we had a fun conversation. I honestly wanted to talk to him more because he had a pretty interesting background, but time is money. Overall experience 5 stars. Julia gets 5 stars. Jimmy gets 5 stars. Doing business in an under construction environment for some people may detract from the experience (it shouldn't) and if you really want the ambiance, just come back when it's done and sit in the lobby for an hour staring at salespeople. Sorry for the long review, but I really hope this helps somebody with a car buying dilemma. Thank you again Penske Honda. More

A Very Uneven Experience! After contacting several Honda dealers with " Edmunds Price Promise", decided to give Penske a try. They had the 2014 CR-V EX-L in the color we wanted and was a dealership relatively close to our home. Got rather confusing communications from Penske relative to whom would be our contact for the Edmunds Price Promise offer, Received two e-mails, one from the Internet Director with the "Price Promise" price on the vehicle we wanted, and another offer from an internet sales person with pricing on a vehicle that wasn't even close to our inquiry. Biut decided to pursue the potential offer from Penske. Arranged an appointment with the internet sales person. during our test drive she wanted to know what it would take to make a lease deal "today" When I told her that I was not prepared for that decision as I was expecting a lease offer from a large high volume dealer in Southern California that I wanted to review before making my decsion - she became rather indignant saying that it was her day off and that she had come in specifically to construct a lease deal that I would accept today. After test driving the CR-V, the sales pitch began. Not high pressure, though. More of a we want your business "TODAY" I showed the sales person a lease deal that I had put together using the program from the LeaseGuide.com website and the Edmunds Price Promise figure which I had found to be quite accurate when used in previous leases. The sales person went over the figures of this sample lease, but acknowledged she did not know much about leases. Nevertheless, she took what she understood to be the numbers to her sales manager, saying that previous experience with folks that had used internet lease programs came up with monthly payments that were generally substantially low. Sure enough, the initial lease offer came in about $ 30/ month higher. When examing the figures, I found an incorrect down payment amount (too low) had been used. After a period of time the sales person came over and said that Penske was prepared to take an additional $670 off the Price Promise if I would lease TODAY. After careful consideration, I assented to the offer, It took quite awhile to get the final numbers, but the net result was that the deal came out to the monthly payment that I gotten using the internet lease calculator. We had to wait quite a while for the numbers to get to the F&I person, who was very efficient (but wanting to get home because it was past her normal work hours). While waiting for the numbers to get to F&I, the sales person indicated that the dealership makes no money on leases and that sales personnel are given only a courtesy commission on the sale. After signing all the appropriate documents, we were told that it would be awhile before our vehicle was ready. Finally, our beautiful Mountain Aire CR-V EX-L was presented. Only a final check of the battery by the sales person was needed. However the battery check printer malfunctioned making the battery condition unreadable, but we were assured that everything was OK. After appropriate goodbye's (and the sales person off to attend to another customer), tried to start our new CR-V only to have no response! After notifying the sales manager of the isssue who said he would contact the sales person, we waited and waited and waited. Went back inside to find out what was happening only to get the feeling that we were a "bother". But the sales person would be contacted. More waiting ensued. Then I saw a young man who did not look like he was a dealer sales person (actually a sales trainer). He said he would look into the issue and shortly discovered that the dealer installed alarm system had not been deactivated and that the temporary registration had not been posted on the windshield. He took care of both items just as our sales person returned to apologize for the ommisions. The dealership is undergoing a major rennovation and the sales/showroom area is a disaster, making it difficult to construct a deal in privacy, There just did not seem to be a"TEAM" environment here. So overall, we got a great deal on a beautiful vehicle after quite an" adventure". In all fairness , our sales person was still in the process of learning successful sales techniques and lease terminology. The dealer went beyond the "Price Promise" to secure our assent and my wife and I did not feel that anything underhanded was going on. It was "unique"in many ways! Donald Cauley More

All week I had been working with ANGEL CHOY over the internet about coming in if they could honor the truecar.com price. She told me that they would. As i came in, Angel had a coupe ready for me. I told her that this was not the car, we both panicked and she realized the mistake she had made. She said not to worry "I will go check with my sales manager if we can honor it", Sure enough they would! This woman was very prompt, she kept in touch with me all week, she was polite and most importantly not pushy. It being my first car i felt like they were not trying to take advantage of me at all, they gave me the car for what they promised. We got down to financing and let me just say PETER MUNOZ HOOKED ME UP SON!!!! I had always had negative shopping experiences with my parents at dealerships. But this place and the people there really took care of me that day. I walked away feeling like i was blessed by the heavens for not getting screwed. Ask for ANGEL CHOY & PETER MUNOZ More

I was quoted a price via email. The email didn't specify CVT or 6-spd manual. I verified on the phone SEVERAL times if they would honor the price for the car I wanted and they said they could. Upon specify CVT or 6-spd manual. I verified on the phone SEVERAL times if they would honor the price for the car I wanted and they said they could. Upon paperwork signing, I noticed a big price difference. They explained that the price quoted was for LX manual transmission. In short, they wouldn't honor what they agreed upon on the phone and treated me rudely. Worst dealer experience by far. More

I gave this dealer 5 stars because I went here a few days ago to buy a used car, and my experience was wonderful! I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted, and my sales consultant, Chris I., never tried to ago to buy a used car, and my experience was wonderful! I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted, and my sales consultant, Chris I., never tried to steer me in another direction (let's say to a higher priced vehicle), like some other dealers have. There was a wide selection of used cars, all with very reasonable prices. The whole team was very negotiable; there were no hidden tricks in the process. Throughout the whole entire time I was there, Chris made sure everything was stress-free, and did not treat me as another "sale." If we had questions, we got an answer right away, and from that moment on, we knew we were buying from the right dealership. If you ever think about coming to Penske, which you should, try your best to get Chris I. as your sales consultant. The whole team is great, but this man made our experience the we ever had... Hassle Free! More
