Before picking up my Jeep from the Service Department on 12/27/2024, I was told over the phone by Kim that my battery was dead and they attempted to jump it off several times, but was unable to get my Jeep 12/27/2024, I was told over the phone by Kim that my battery was dead and they attempted to jump it off several times, but was unable to get my Jeep to crank. Kim told me over the phone that they would see if they could charge the battery, so it would be able to crank up by the time I arrive for pick up. When I arrived, I was told that it still would not crank and that they would give it another try. I stood outside to see where my Jeep was, so could see what was gong on and try to figure out how a battery that was reading 14.0V without any crank issues all of a sudden wouldn't crank. My Jeep has sat in my garage for 8 days without being cranked, and when I was ready to use it again, it cranked without hesitation and has been able to ever since. While I continued to stand outside under the carport, looking around for my Jeep, one of the lot attendants that was assigned to bring my Jeep to me was in a hurry in front of the bay doors that face the side entrance, in the back of the parking lot, with a "jumper cable box" to jump my Jeep off. So I drove my rental car closer to my Jeep and got out to see what was happening with my Jeep. The first box he used failed, so then he went and got a "NOCO" smaller, portable like box to jump my Jeep off and it finally cranked. When I got inside of my Jeep to get ready to leave, I noticed my "Check Engine" light was on and it has never been on ever before, so I walk back inside and spoke to Kim and told her the light was on. Kim was just as surprised as I was because she knew the Check Engine Light wasn't on when I dropped my Jeep off. She called the Technician to meet with me outside with his OBD Reader to show me why the Check Engine Light was on. The Technician didn’t seem to know how to diagnose anything visually and relied on his OBD Reader for something that would’ve been easy to rectify if he just had of looked under the hood. Should’ve sent me a “Master Mechanic” to explain and actually try to correct the code P1CEA. When the Technician came outside, he wasn't wearing a jacket for the extreme cold and acted very nervous. When he hooked up his OBD Reader, it displayed a bunch of codes moving very fast and he said they were all battery related and he didn't know why the Check Engine Light was on because it wasn't on after he serviced it. Things weren't making sense to me because my Jeep has a "Low Voltage Auxiliary Light" that comes on pertaining to each of my batteries, so the Check Engine Light was an entirely different problem. My Emissions was done 12/12/24 and it passed, so that was already indication that there wasn't any hidden codes in my Jeep's Computer. When I got home, I saw I had scratches on the Fender Flare and the body of my Jeep where the larger Jumper Cable Box made contact with my Jeep's paint. When I looked under my hood, I was missing a piece of styrofoam that cushions the hood from the grill and also the Technician failed to reconnect the two hoses that attaches to my Engine Air Filter Box. Once I reconnected these two hoses and reset my batteries, drove for 50-60 miles or so, the Check Engine Light never came back on again that day and is still off as of today. Both of my batteries are reading between 13-14.0V. I find it hard to believe that the Technician did not see a Check Engine Light on after he completed the work on my Jeep. It is also crazy that he didn't check behind himself, or at least a Foreman check behind him to ensure everything was connected properly. I will never trust another dealership to do anything on any vehicle I purchase ever again especially this dealership. This is the 4th dealership I've gone to over 14 years that has damaged something on a vehicle I owned, or half assed on Warranty Work. I would rather them to have taken their time and do the job right, than rush through it and possibly leave me "the customer" or any customer stranded with a blown engine, or worse a car accident.
