I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and concern regarding the service I received from your dealership. I live in Atlanta and drove to your location specifically to have my Dodge Charger rep concern regarding the service I received from your dealership. I live in Atlanta and drove to your location specifically to have my Dodge Charger repaired. I placed full trust in your team to properly diagnose and fix my vehicle. I was informed that my vehicle required an engine tear down and a top-end rebuild. Based on your recommendation, I approved the repair and paid approximately $7,000–$10,000 for the work. I expected this to resolve the issues with my car. However, shortly after the rebuild was allegedly completed, my vehicle began experiencing low oil pressure. I returned the car, and it has now been at your shop for an additional six days. Today, I was informed that the engine needs to be replaced entirely—something that was never mentioned at the beginning of this process. Had I known a full engine replacement was the best or only solution, I never would have authorized a costly rebuild. Instead, I was encouraged to proceed with repairs that have now proven to be ineffective. In addition, shortly after the initial repair, I was told that I needed motor mounts, something that should have been identified during the engine work, especially on a 6.4L engine. I find it unacceptable that such a critical component was overlooked during an alleged full engine tear down and rebuild. Now I’m being told that my only option is to pay an additional $8,000 for a new engine, with the prior $7,000 being applied toward the cost. Unfortunately, I do not have the financial means to do that. I borrowed money for the initial repair, and I’m still responsible for a $900 car note and insurance payments on a vehicle that I cannot even drive. I feel completely misled and taken advantage of. The situation has caused me significant emotional and financial hardship. I respectfully request that your dealership: Provide a detailed written explanation of all work performed and all diagnostic findings. Clarify why a full engine replacement was not initially recommended if that was the appropriate repair. Offer a fair resolution, such as refunding part or all of the rebuild costs or covering the engine replacement under warranty or goodwill assistance. I trusted your service department in good faith, and I expect the same level of honesty and integrity in return. I can be contacted at 678-508-1372.
