We were looking for a 2013 Toyota Highlander at the end of the model year. Patrick met me out front when I arrived and took me to the stock of remaining 2013's. He was very courteous and helpful without being pushy at all. After finding an SE that I was looking for, he offered to let me take it home so my wife could see it when she got off work that evening. Patrick mentioned that he had a doctor's appointment the next morning and that another sales person could help us if we got there before he did. I was a little disappointed in the SE's ride and finish level, since we were replacing a 1999 Lexus RX 300. The next morning we came back to try a Highlander Limited. Since we had to come early so my wife could get to work on time, Patrick had not returned from the doctor, so the Sales Manager introduced himself to us and had Sam Abdelfattah help us until Patrick returned. Like Patrick, Sam was very knowledgeable and courteous. We found a Limited that we liked and after driving it for about 10 minutes knew that this was the model we wanted, since it was quieter than the SE and the interior was much nicer. Patrick returned and arranged for the Service Manager to give us a trade-in value on our Lexus. After discussing a few things, we decided to buy the Limited. After our transaction was completed and the vehicle was gassed up, cleaned up and ready to go, Steven Vargas, one of the new car delivery coordinators took us through all the controls and options, which made my wife much more comfortable with her new vehicle. The whole process was very professionally handled. The only issue I had was how the $1,500 cash discount or 0% financing promotion option was handled on their web site. The price for this vehicle that we saw the previous evening on their website gave a price that already included the $1,500 discount, but without saying that this was a cash price. Without that mention, we assumed that we would receive a $1,500 discount to this price if we paid cash, which we intended to do. However, we were told the price on the web site was net of this $1,500 and therefore assumed a cash deal. Although I know it is common practice to show the lowest price possible on the Internet, I think that this price should have been clearly labelled a cash price to avoid any misunderstanding like we experienced. Since all Toyota dealers have to compete not only with other car makers but also with each other, I think this is a Toyota dealer management/policy issue rather than an issue with Ourisman. If Toyota policies don't require all of their dealers to clearly represent their cash-based prices as such on their web sites and other ads, their dealers will eventually gravitate to the practices of the least transparent dealers that they have to compete with. That said, all in all, we are very satisfied with our new Highlander and the professional way we were treated at Ourisman. More
All the staff at Ourisman Toyota are exceptional. Feb-2014 > Went in looking to trade our 2007 Scion tC with 92K on the ODO for one of those new sweet-a$$ FR-S models (ended up with a 2014 Scion TC). Kirk offered us the keys to the tC and FR-S out front with 92K on the ODO for one of those new sweet-a$$ FR-S models (ended up with a 2014 Scion TC). Kirk offered us the keys to the tC and FR-S out front and went on a solo test drive. The FR-S was more fun and faster, but the tC seemed like the more practical choice (major re-design's since 07). Came back and was offered 5K on the trade in, so decided to go with the upgrade. Kirk was super friendly and no pressure in the sale was felt from anyone. All in all, the experience was better than our 2007 Scion tC purchase from Kay Jennings Springfield Scion in Sep-2006. Note: Wear a Dan Marino Jersey and Kirk will offer 10% off the purchase price of the vehicle (Just kidding abut the 10%, but you will have an interesting conversation from Kirk's prior experience as a car salesman in South Florida). I traded in a 2001 Ford Taurus that wasn't worth the gas I had in it but still got a fair trade in value. I was only in the dealership for just over 3 hrs but left with a 2014 Tacoma. I had the best experience here and this was my first time buying a car and I was alone (single female) and it was not intimidating at all. The best staff and very friendly. DISHONEST!! Called Nick Carter salesman inquiring about a 2000 Toyota , we live in MD, specifically told him I was hesitant to buy a car in VA because of MDs inspection. He told me they guarantee their cars will pass in MD, DC & VA. My husband went with my 20 yr old son, as we were buying the car for him, asked for Nick and was handed off to another salesman. Not only would they not negotiate on this 13 yr old car, the 2nd salesman Pat Milloy tacked on a $598 processing fee, basically a fee they can make up, no such fee exists. There was a crack in the windshield. The car would need a timing belt, expensive to replace. Oh, they offered to replace the timing belt for $450 on top of the price, all in all they wanted $1500 ABOVE their asking price without any guarantee it would pass MD inspection. The guarantee it would pass MD inspection, my husband was told NICK MADE A MISTAKE?? We live 45 mins away from this dealership, he simply told me what I wanted to hear to get us in the door! The assumption car salesman are slimy is not just an assumption at least not at Ourisman Toyota Chantilly. I realize they need to make a living, but there is a fine line. I did read some of the reviews on here, should have paid attention to the poor ones. What Ourisman Toyota Chantilly need to realize, consumers tell about nine people about good experiences, and nearly twice as many (16 people) about poor ones – making every individual service interaction important for businesses. Good rating instead of Great only because I had to pay more for the car than I wanted and I got less for my trade-in than I wanted, but that is to be expected. Teemour was exceptional! Additionally, the dealership granted my request to take the care for the day to see if it was really what we wanted. We were able to thouroughly test it rather than just drive around the block. The entire car sales staff was courtious and friendly and we ended up getting the vehicle we wanted for a good price/deal. (Not great, but still good!) Again, Teemour was outstanding. He went above and beyond for us. If he is still around when we are in the market again for a car, we will surely seek him out! More
