Shady fees added at time of purchase Beware of shady car dealer in Edison, NJ! Volvo of Edison on Rt. 1 just added a fee to a used car I was about to purchase. I had specifically asked Beware of shady car dealer in Edison, NJ! Volvo of Edison on Rt. 1 just added a fee to a used car I was about to purchase. I had specifically asked them to give me all the fees I would be expected to pay with the purchase. I was told there was a $400 documentation fee and $180 for new plates unless I had plates. When I went there today to take the car to my mechanic the salesman, Jesus Garcia, told me of an additional $695 dealer prep fee. He told me his manager Rudy Baez had added it because of the low price I had negotiated. When I discussed this with him he told me that sometimes the price is included in the car and sometimes they add it in. I'm not sure if that is even legal. My advice is do not buy a new or used car at this dealership. More
